  1. So the CELESTIQ is 10 inches longer than at CT6… which sounds right for a $300k flagship.

  2. I wonder what is more urgent for Elon to fix? The million unit recalls his cars are faced with last month and the transport and logistical problems or the free speech Twitter ownership thing? Great humanitarian, philanthropist and leader he is. Bless him.

  3. @David Although I LOVE that you LOVE Lego sets, especially the car sets. The joke is that the new BMW M2 is so blocky, it could be styled by Lego set engineers... Weirdly though, I actually like it...

  4. I like all the new Lego sets, interesting is the love hate debate over the new Lego Logo and box design. Guess some are really hung up on the past and see no reason to modernize or change. Crazy. ? Wonder how long before they get the EVs done as Lego Sets, would be cool to have the Cadillac LYRIQ, CELESTIQ and ESCALADE in a Lego.

  5. I visited my local Lego store and I saw many Lego themed sets. (I didnt actually visit a Lego store, just a funny story at the end of it...) Star Wars, Lego City...motorized sets too. I also came across some very impressive automotive themed sets. Porsche and Corvette...among others But the most impressive set, the brand new BMW M2. Looks almost like the real thing. Less blocky than the others...

  6. I have only sat in an EQS, but I think the S-class is nicer and roomier on the inside. The EQE is as big as an E-class, I think 1-2 inches longer actually, being electric they should be able to make it roomier. But from what I have seen or read it isn't like the Taycan or Audi e-tron GT are big cars inside either. But looking at an EQE or an E-class, I'd pick the E-class and I'd prefer an EV if I were buying a car today. I think what a lot of these car companies will find is people don't want mega screens, they will want buttons, volume knobs and conventional stuff. I heard the hyper screen equipped cars have like a 1 year back log, so there are some techies out there that want that, but I suspect the bulk of the market is not that, and I suspect Mercedes will get customer feedback wanting "traditional" Mercedes that are EV.

  7. Looks at another thread and two pages of pissing matches over the use of a pick up (and subsequent irrelevancy) and thinks to himself...

  8. You guys and your pissing matches over something that is 100% irrelevant to you or whatever argument you're trying to make. "X company is great because they have CASH!" "Look at my company and their cash!!"

  9. Sometimes I just shake my head at the non-sense. As of 2/2022 Source:https://www.investors.com/etfs-and-funds/sectors/sp500-companies-stockpile-1-trillion-cash-investors-want-it/ But yeah, Elon, Elon, Elon.

  10. Toyota has more cash on hand than the value of GM as a company, they have the money to get supply chains, battery production, factory upgrades, etc all in place and launch a massive EV production within 5 years. It might take Ford and GM 5 more years to get to that volume anyway. We are still almost 1 year away from Blaze and Equinox EV going on sale, 9 months or so for Silverado EV and all those GM might only build 5-10,000 each next year. So not until 2024 will they really be up and running and who knows what that pace is. If GM or Ford sell over a million EV's in the calendar year 2024 in the USA I'd be surprised. There is still a price problem when the typical small crossover starts at $27k and $33k is the average sale price for that segment. But a Mach-E, Ariya, id4, bz4x, etc are low $40s starting and like $50k average. Tax credit (if you qualify) fuel and maintenance savings, yes I get all that. But the majority of the car buying market can't afford an EV, or if you can, you are comparing a Genesis GV70 or maybe even a GV80 to a Hyundai Ioniq 5 for similar money. You can buy a Lexus RX for the same price as a smaller, bz4x. A Kia EV6 awd starts at $51,400, a Cadillac XT5 with awd is larger and about $5k cheaper, and it's a Cadillac not a Kia. Prices have to get in line for the consumer demand to be there. Tesla has the best CEO in the auto industry. Most legacy OEM's are flat in revenue over the past 10 years, GM actually had less revenue in 2021 than they did 10 years ago. If you factor in inflation a lot of these companies aren't growing, Tesla is growing every year.

  11. OMG, I hate all of that so unbelievably much. SOME of those style buttons are "okay" but they REALLY need to be used and placed correctly for me to not hate. Come to think of it, I think the GLB and GLC loaners that we've had have had those for the steering wheel controls. They were "okay" at best. I don't think either of us accidently changed anything while driving but I know my left hand (while sitting in the passenger seat) definitely hit something in the middle that muted or turned the volume way up and we had no clue how/what had happened. I think I had ever-so-slightly brushed the infotainment control in whatever way made those changes. This reminds me, I think I just read VW is getting rid of those buttons for real buttons on their GTI (and/or other models) because the steering wheel captive buttons are soooo hated. Good on them. This was actually one reason the in-laws went got an older(2017) GL over a GLS. There was way too much going on for them to try and figure out and they just wanted the vehicle to work for them. There's already a lot in a 2017 GL but the newer GLS and pretty much everything newer Merc, has too much going on for the "boomer" age group. My parents have a 2020 RAV4, or maybe 2021, and just a few weeks ago I showed my mom the auto function for the climate control. A lot of people just want their cars to freakin work. There are too many complexities in a lot of new vehicles.

  12. Again, misreading what I said. Me calling him out on his constant lies (much like you did with Olds not too long ago) has jack squat to do with being "internet police" (which no different than how you have responded to him here). Stop the act because you know exactly what I am talking about.

  13. The Rolls is “only” sporting 320 miles of range. Neither car is being sold with “top range” in mind nor does it matter anyway for reasons that have been discussed aplenty here. Range bitching on these types of cars is like bitching about MPGs on the ICE equivalent of a $300K car. It doesn’t exist to actual buyers.

  14. Ford is worth $53 billion, GM is worth $54 billion, Toyota is worth $225 billion, Tesla is worth $716 billion. I'd say Elon is the best CEO if the CEO's job is to build shareholder value. Toyota historically has kept about $50-60 billion in cash, google says it is over $70 billion this year. But my point is Toyota has plenty of cash and manufacturing know how that they can scale up an operation. I wouldn't count them out because they are still in a position of strength, still the largest car company in the world, they operate in every market. I think the bz4x is a flop, but eventually they'll do electric Tundra, Tacoma, Hilux, Rav4, Prius EV, etc, and they'll be fine. Unless they don't do any of that, but they aren't that stupid.
