From a factual standpoint, being a zombie and being a fascist isn’t mutually exclusive so there is that.3 points

I listened to this one a whole 5 seconds. Jesus Christ defended a prostitute when some folk were throwing rocks at her and condemning her for adultery and other lustful sins. He showed empathy towards her by also showing the hypocrisy of the stone throwers by saying he who hasnt sinned may cast the first stone. Its more of the common bible stories to be told. And there are countless of other parables of where Jesus Christ preaches empathy. EMPATHY is literally what Jesus preached. It is Christianity's modus operandi. Like I said, the bullshyte of what is called conservative christianity, mega christians, evangelicals and all others like that are NOT legit religions. Those are cults. Lead by snake oil salesmen. This shyte should NOT be confused. There are LEGIT religions out there. These are not. These are fake.2 points

And I am not saying that the Democrats are good, that our problems are all political, or that America is entirely bad. But we are going through a bout of national insanity.2 points
-
It's not just politics corrupted here, it is religion as well. And zero ability to self reflect or see ourselves in a cultural mirror. It's almost like America has some sort of national autism and can't read the room and can't understand what others are trying to tell it.2 points

Ohio has a lot of beautiful parts. No idea what the rest of my life holds, zero effort put into worrying about it. I can plan for some contingencies, but that is about it. America is losing the war it has with reality, as well as the trade war.2 points

I have so many places to travel and so few years left to live. That we have this sort of insanity at all is an issue though. We live in an America with two separate sets of media, two different sets of social media, and a wildly post modern sense of what truth is and how it is relevant. This is another great generation of GM cars, best ever were the midsize 68-72 IMHO. Whopper Wednesday indeed! It's almost as if we just embraced some form of objective reality and broke the duopoly of the corrupt democrats and corrupt republicans, that we would have a fantastic country. Hell, I am white and native born and about to start carrying mine. Get used to Nazis they are an invasive species here to stay.2 points

I wholeheartedly agree. The '77 had the cleaner vertical bars with the stacked lamps as opposed to the '76's diamond hatch grill. Back then, there were a lot of options and not everything was put into strict and limited packages. It would have been nice to get the plush up-level interior, the gauge package, and a tilt wheel, yet not put on too many of the electric gizmos. On the exterior, those spirograph wheels are actually wheel covers, hence susceptible to sticky fingers. But they look mighty fine. Then, you'd need dual body colored sport mirrors to go with all that. Pass on a vinyl roof. Now here's where I might be crazy. I would just get the basic standard engine. It was the 250 cubic inch inline 6 by Chevrolet. Those have a 7 main bearing crank and they are in it for the long haul. They purr differently than does a V8, but they were definitely smoother than the V6 (by Buick) of that day. So that's a package that features the looks inside and out, but also has a simple and reliable DIY setup in the engine bay. You'll just have to live with 105 horses. People may honk at you! I'm glad you like this car. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person on this forum who carries a big torch for the GM colonnades. And that my detailed knowledge of them is nerdy! Happy hump day, folks. It's also Whopper Wednesday.2 points

I have a neighbor here that has a 5-year-old Mercedes and it has rust spots and moss all over since she never washes it, I suspect the rust is from clogged drains since she leaves it outside year-round by pine trees. Some just never learn how to take care of an auto. Agree, I see inaction all the time with social media posts of people recording ICE doing illegal things and no one walking up demanding accountability. ICE has started to do this Nazi BS here in Issaquah, I told my wife to carry her passport as she cares for our newest grandson and takes him all over, will help with proving she is a U.S. citizen, Korean by birth. I also told her to call me if anything like this happens. I will not tolerate this Nazi BS.2 points

It’s actually a fantastic place to live. As disgusted as I am on the national scale, I am the exact opposite on the local scale, my life here is incredibly good! Rational They can fix it by unbolting the license plate and driving another truck up to that plate. “Gee Ma, it’s red now!”2 points

Salted roads, no inspections, poverty, red state issues. lots of beaters on the roads. Which is sad, as Ohio has many great universities and cultural institutions... still a lot of wealth here, though...I live a few miles from some of the most expensive real estate in the state (Hunting Valley, Gates Mills, Pepper Pike) and they just opened a new Porsche dealer close by. I'm an Ohio native, grew up here, moved back, still see some good here...it's not all Trump trash.2 points

Not zombies. The people that are in office are fascist. The PEOPLE that put those fascists in power are zombies. And...the people that continue to ignore what the reality is are zombies... I guess, the short term pain is not painful enough. Problem is, because of zombie-ism, the pain is also numb for them to realize that there will not be any long term gains. Well, only for the oligarch rich that will actually benefit from trump's fascism. For the rest of the population, permanent pain. Get off the internet because doom and gloom exists... But also, put on blinders from reality because doom and gloom ACTUALLY exists, so just lay in a fetal position and hope the pain isnt too much to bear.2 points

The Calzone in question, it was glorious. I will disagree with Olds Hurst, not sure we are going to find a better one in Montreal. Nor Italy, to respond to another esteemed member here... This was a Mexican porter, fantastic, and the other Stout I had was amazing. The fire I enjoyed waiting for my wife.2 points

And the reason for my feelings is factual, we really are destroying the country rapidly and its not coming back. The debt, the move away from the dollar as the reserve currency for the world, the de industrialization, the loss of family farms, the educational damage, the environmental damage, the division, its all getting worse and not going to reverse regardless of how we vote. The die is cast, the American empire is over. We took a 102 mile round trip bike ride Saturday, I only made half if it as my bike had mechanical problems at the 51 mile mark. Could not rectify the problem, so I waited at a local brew pub by a fire on the patio with my Cannondale eating a Calzone and drinking good beer 9only had 2 though) until my wife got to the Ranger and drove down to pick me up. Drinking good beer, enjoying my life, eating good food, being in touch with nature, and riding my bike are how I am going to live through and enjoy the tough times we are inevitably going to face. That ride is a metaphor for the next twenty years of my life... Hell yeah, at least there is beer. Bokes loaded into the Ranger after a long day, My wife's Specialized carbon fiber Ruby on the other side of the bed.2 points

My mistake. Doesn’t change my core point though. His statement can still be correct overall, regardless of whether the building across from you is like that or not, especially given what I emphasized earlier regarding the location (and political leanings) of said places. ICE is a mess, end of story.1 point

It is good we are talking about it. Politics and all. EXPOSING all the bullshyte going on. Even on an automotive forum. THIS is how the truth remains RELEVANT. And in the grand scheme of things of me posting burning American flags and being vulgar towards americans really means nothing OTHER than allowing a discussion of what is happening. Allowing another point of view, a point of view of a foreigner if you will, but a foreigner who's country has ALSO been affected by this madness, to be heard. Others that read this site as lurkers also get to see this point of view and have another TRUTHFUL venue to rely on DESPITE this site being an automotive site. THIS is one of MANY fights a population has to fight against oppression, fascism and injustices that the usa is facing.1 point

Did my part today in filling out my voter's card for the elections next week and dropped them off along with my wife's ballot at the ballot box. We vote on who is the best candidate not the party for the role that is up for election. One of the biggest problems here in the U.S. is that both corrupt parties have moved in most states to ban the ability to state what party you really are or Independent which my wife and I are. You are forced to choose Red or Blue and that to me is a large problem of the political issues as I think there are far more independents than either party is willing to acknowledge. I really wish we could figure out how to get an Independent President candidate on all states ballots as it is time to smack both parties where it hurts and leave them with no majority, but a required must work with the Independents to achieve anything or look like the losers they are.1 point

Since I can work from home, have not been in Seattle the last week and not planning to for the rest of the year. I have not seen any pictures of Seattle ICE Building on the news or posted online in social media, so I can only pull the Portland one that currently looks like this. Previously looked like this. Now they have added the fencing with barb wire. Local news is doing a good job of how terrible ICE has become here in the PNW. If you take a look at history, you can see that the ball room, the Trump Arch are right out of Hitlers playbook along with everything else he is doing and all these ICE Lemmings are saying they are just doing their job ignoring that they swore an oath to the Constitution and laws of this country, not to a narcissistic Idiot that 47 is.1 point

Again... for the umpteenth time I ask. How do YOU (a general you as well as a personal you) stop the insanity? By NOT engaging in politics? By accepting it and tolerating the insaity? By giving up? By blaming both parties yet not doing anything by NOT engaging in politics? (twice said) The usa IS a democracy... (for the little time left it has by being a democracy) Democracy NEEDS ALL of its citizens to be engaged for it to work... If not...well...you get what the usa is facing right now...1 point

Maybe, just maybe, that is because you don't live in a target city or state as designated by the lead moron in D.C. The same mechanisms exist in the Fed building across the street from you as does the one's in Seattle or Portland. Don't let complicity disguise the actually facts.1 point

Thank you for all of this and I'll have to do some digging when I get home tonight to said laptop. All I really know is it's a Microsoft OS and probably about 6-8 years old at this point. Again, not true. I literally work directly across from a federal building in STL and that is not the case. I'm sure the one in Seattle is that way, but you can't just blanketly cover every Fed building as the same.1 point

OK, let me see if I can help you clean it up. First do you have your original installation media for the laptop? If so what version of windows? Second, how did your MSFT Office get on the laptop? Do you have media or did it come preinstalled? If preinstalled, usually there was an option to make backup media so recover and restore a clean install. Third, go to Start button, settings, apps. Here you can uninstall applications that you do not use, this will not only free up HD space but also reduce background running processes to speed up the system. Look for things like Skype that is no longer a valid product but has a ton of processes that run in the background. Some things that can be done over a clean install is that you can turn things off from the apps section such as Copilot, Cortana, etc. I found this to be of interest for those that are willing to try Linux. 7 Linux Distributions to Replace Windows 11 & 10 Best Free Alternatives to Replace Windows 10 Safely 5 Windows-Like Linux Distros You Should Try Out 4 Linux distros you should use instead of upgrading to Windows 11 3 free Linux distros that look and feel like Windows | PCWorld Option abounds for those that are willing to change how your computer runs via another OS but still has the windows look and feel.1 point

I'm fairly out of the loop with what GM is doing. All I know is that I sort of like the Acadia* and its price is ridiculous. * not sure if it's partly a name thing because I love Acadia National Park in coastal Maine. WOW, Another reason to hate GM, they have changed the ability to use the native Google Maps in your auto by turning it into a $300 a year subscription fee. AA/CP forever, GM can die. It’ll cost $300 a year to keep using Google Maps in your Chevy1 point

WOW, Got in the mail a request to sign up for a GM Rewards card. Was shocked by the interest rate they want on the card. Says ranges from 19% to 33% interest depending on credit score. Canadian Commercial that is to be pulled on Monday since it pissed Idiot47 off. Here is the full video of Reagan where he does say all that is in the commercial but also clearly states that tariffs like a scalpel are to be used surgically to achieve results such as the Tariffs that he put on Japan to stop their dumping of select items. Point being is Idiot47 is a clear idiot in not understanding business and how to use surgical like tactics to achieve fairness. If he had more than an IQ of 79 he might actually be able to talk better than a 5th grader where he currently speaks and would understand the need for targeted approach rather than a dictator blanket approach to the world. We all are going to feel the pain especially as we move forward in having to repair our auto's regardless of the power source used to motivate the wheels due to ignorance of a global market and a pointed approach to areas that truly make sense in protecting of America. The honestly is that the industrial revolution of America will never come back as we move forward, not all things can ever be built here. This is too funny.1 point

Are you absolutely SURE about that? That dog might wait an extra day or two, unlike a cat (I own two btw so be careful with how you respond here) but make no mistake. A dog will have some finger food (literally) if they are starving. It is what happened with Gene Hackman and his wife and that was a small dog doing that. Educate yourself before thinking this is only a cat thing. Both cats and dogs are animals and all that "dogs are more loyal" BS doesn't fly come starvation time. That is a fact.1 point

Idiot47 talked about the Golden Days of the 50's and 60's and how he would MAGA America back to the golden days. Clearly that will never happen and with inflation up, will continue, but with job loss and manufacturing shutdowns, clearly his time in office will be one of inflation, high prices and hurt for all Americans except the 1%.1 point
