A new isolationism ?
don't worry, if we don't correct our course of interventionism, that decision will be made for us (economic collapse). the only thing scary about that happening is the idea of a NA union stripping away our national identity following a collapse.

Anybody want to guess where gas prices end up.....
there was an interesting economist on last night (book TV) talking about the welfare principal.... It's outrageous that we're going to be paying bill gates social security when he retires!

v6 for delta, hypothetical.
well... yes i was assuming a 60degree v6 would fit... I have not had a first hand look at under the hood of a delta. but since delta 2 should be a tad bigger, maybe the engine bay will be too.

v6 for delta, hypothetical.
just an "experiment"... say delta's get a DI 2.2 or the 2.2 is replaced by the 1.4L T .... assuming the 2.8L is too big for the platform, hypothetically do you think there would be a market big enough to build a 2.9-3.2L V6 IC-VVT DI'd OHV engine putting out ~220hp ~210ftlbs as a "sport", not a SS? obviously this is an IF they don't keep the 2.4 or don't upgrade it in the near future....

why prices rise.
absolutely. increasing taxes (more than 1 year) will not help us in the near future. and the "winning dem candidate" wants to tax us more, and it won't even stay in this country for our needs. and the "rep candidate" wants to have a cap and trade on GHG's.

YAY subsidies!!!! /sarcasm. what else will the do with our tax dollars?!!!

why prices rise.
but we also have the least manufacturing / mining prolly since the depression. Subsidies don't help either, that's just recycling wealth. Haliburton moved to Dubai, remember? the other thing is that paper money, you possess, but it's not your property. it does not represent anything of intrinsic value, unlike gold. if you want to see the inflation look at the 1933 act that took people's gold (gold currency became "illegal") and only gave them 60% of it's worth. that caused 40% inflation over 8 months. in another part of http://www.gold-eagle.com/editorials_03/holloway011303.html is my source for that.

why prices rise.
Inflation: not good, and has a clear reason why it happens. Historically it's easiest seen in the worst times. Germany after WWI. Industry had been destroyed, therefor minimal wealth generation through manufacturing, mining, and farming. Paper money was printed to let government pay for it's expenditures because tax income was very minimal, ~1% of their budget at times. This caused their money to be devalued, like stock of a business that was losing money, with no hope of growth. the smartest german citizens bought gold and other currency before Hyper inflation happened. Wholesale Price Index: July 1914 1.0 Jan 1919 2.6 July 1919 3.4 Jan 1920 12.6 Jan 1921 14.4 July 1921 14.3 Jan 1922 36.7 July 1922 100.6 Jan 1923 2,785.0 July 1923 194,000.0 Nov 1923 726,000,000,000.0 At one point it was cheaper to burn the money than to buy wood with the money. source: http://www.usagold.com/germannightmare.html To cure our inflation the elected government must balance the budget / start paying off our debt or increase wealth generators here with relaxed restrictions, to increase tax revenue. If the people you vote for don't care about a balanced budget, or want more programs without taxing us to death, then that is not helping the situation, and only aid in this country's downfall.

no. dwight's just quite good like that. it's more of a "potential" on paper.

Anybody want to guess where gas prices end up.....
well if the stock of our government (dollar) wasn't in the crapper, it would have never been this bad... remember the good days when the budget was balanced back in 2000 and gas was $.99. yes, they have a direct correlation.

haha.. not at you, but you always seem so technically astute, yet can bring it down to a level most people with a good idea how an engine works, can understand. (to bad there isn't a highfive smily)

Anybody want to guess where gas prices end up.....
I'm so glad i filled up tuesday @ 3.55. predictions.. hm... if foreign policy changes none, i'd guess another .75 higher (national average)what is it now?... 3.90? so.. ~4.60? if anything changes for the better, prices may slide about .20 so 3.70. I so hope the gas tax holiday doesn't go through. that would push it even higher. I'm making an outline for an inflation speech, if anyone cares to look at it, i'll have it message-able tomorrow evening. (for school, might not have done before that, then work after. so little time it seems.)

some theories have tons more evidence than others. Gravity is very predictable above the nanoscale. Evolution explains pretty much everything except how life started. "global warming" has some facts backing it up, but does not explain a process or events why those facts are there. Oldsmoboi.... I too don't care what we use to fuel our lives, as long as it can be extracted/pumped/refined/made in responsible ways. making a market for corn ethanol that causes more pollution than other alternatives is not responsible. Brazil makes ethanol, what, 1/3 as cheaply, yet we can't trade that with them, how is that responsible? subsidies and devaluing the dollar with our foreign policy/budget is not responsible either. Ideas / policies that aren't responsible is what is causing all these debates/problems/unrest in our society. When you break down our problems down to something everyone can understand, instead of the blame game, solving the problems become much easier.
