  1. with some different styling tweaks that could have been a good replacement for the caliber. (though maybe too high to replace a entry sedan, vs a "cute ute")
  2. must be a diesel? 4.5k redline....
  3. does, "so much more feminine" seem like a good account of this? if the 2.5L is true, at least it'll be a higher performing engine in this segment.
  4. it's got an axe.... it's not totally useless.
  5. the first part,...then gov cannot be acting like it has more so over the last few years. gov is run by partisan politics and like you said, "and since when did the Idiotic Republicans fix anything or make anything better?" sounds like you are a partisan too..... if you want to invest in the future, try to get a job with them, buy their stock, encourage the smartest you know of all ages to not look for hand outs from the gov and look for PEOPLE to invest in them and their ideas. i think investing in the future has to promote ideas of justice, not for the 99%, not for the 1%, but for everyone, equally. how can that be accomplished by an entity that derives it's power and $ from the people it can coerce and while using that power and money to try to control where the present is going into the future? it's past record is pretty horrid, and more so in the last ~100 years, and only accelerating. remember, gov does not equal society, and vise versa. i think it's credited to ghandi.... "(you) be the change you want to see." anymore discussion and i'm going straight to the core value(s) about this topic.
  6. change this to student loans ....and what about an impending crisis, because they will not be paid back, because of a lack of good paying jobs? the gov should not act like a bank(lender), they cannot judge the cost-benefit analysis, because their "income" is by coercion, this leads to malinvestment and over-consumption, debt that will not be liquidated and thus stick the tax payer with the bill. taxes will have to raise, even if it means the price of money drops. Chris, how will nixing these loan programs take us back to the stone age? (isn't injecting party politics into this discussion just a low brow way of trying to end it?) (just noticed before this my post # was 6868. haha)
  7. horray! nix these interventions!
  8. like all gov programs that decrease choice, from toilets (water per flush) to education, they make the provider(under gov regulation) be the leader in the product provided while trying to cater to consumers instead of trying to please the consumer first and worrying about how they are going to do it 2nd. and while we're talking about cafe..... it is much more lenient than the #'s on the window show. hopefully didn't have to say this, but just a reminder. we can refer to dwight's comments on it about how it's something that should mostly be ignored.
  9. the nose of the original does scream edsel.....
  10. looks like it burned... or just tons of dust on it..? lucky the house didn't cave.
  11. ah, there we go. looked around google for "verano". Excelle GT in china.... make it GS.... maybe. it's not a great name for a hot hatch based opel, but i've never named a car before. lol
  12. it seems not like a buick we're used to.... reskin it and call it the (new small car's name, can't think of it) ,GS (stage #) could be right..?
  13. yay for 1 dimension "politics"....ugh
  14. they do nothing constructive and have nothing better do to. We need to be more like Europe IMHO> That sounds horrible....actually more like europe...sooooo vague... don't knock it till you try it. and just for reference, the pies i eat are made with arkansas black variety, so i'm not sure what you're used to.
  15. ""wacky people who feel the need to force their definition of morality on the general public in spite of the lack of interest the general public has in having the definitions of right and wrong decided by one group that doesn't represent America as a whole"" this can go for just about any topic....practically all of them. which is good and bad, but often horrific. I agree camino.
  16. Satty, conservative is only a label that means something to those that are predisposed to others acting in such a behavior. wish i could find some, love to try it. pumpkin cheesecake is awesome w/ apple pie.
  17. 1 less magnum on the road, ...accident i saw a couple days ago, both air bags, 1 person put on a stretcher into an ambulance and the driver w/ a neck brace, front end collision. a split window vette, silver.
  18. why port and Direct injection? would this help idle NVH /consumption or something?
  19. bureaucratic fumbling. not surprising....and more wasteful $$ spent.
  20. and if so, some will say a basis for a 5.0L "Lux" V8 for caddy, or others.
  21. sounds good for nissan
  22. yes. i've seen that amd has basically said "windows 7 can't utilize bulldozer well yet. W8 will fix many of the problems." "piledriver" should be out in fusion chips in 1H '12, and in FX chips soon after... i really hope so. if you look at specs, it seems their HT3.1 isn't being utilized much at all, only 200mhz over phenom2, hopefully with the next released chips, that's utilized more. just remember, we'll see how this new architecture works out in the coming year... you seen the overclocked power draw figures? wow! hehe also in the specs, it seems AMD went mammoth chip like nvidia has done, and amd is still doing quite well in the GPU dept using a better strategy for the average-performance group users(HD series). next few revisions will be very interesting, more so than the athlon -> phenom -> phenom 2 status quo. hopefully x6 costs will come down(more soon), i might pick up a 1090.
  23. "3.5 times more processing power than current systems" using amd fusion chips maybe?
  24. think it could have been mud that got into the car Chris?
