  1. curious what your avg speed was? nice none the less.
  2. external dimensions aside.. would a lightly turboed 6.0L beable to be harnessed better than the 7.2? (no need for a new tranny... (maybe just something to start with, judge demand, bring the big guns 1 or 2 years later if signals show a demand?)
  3. ECO boost for all... oh wait... not a ford engine? lol

I can check it pretty easily...the standby power lead to the radio, but if that is "normal"(resetting the whole radio, like it was plugged in the first time)... this seems like an anomaly. oh. and cleaned the FOB up with rubbing alcohol. still works, but only tried to unlock and lock once. no trouble.

i betting this isn't normal. just curious if anyone knows how to clean this and if that would keep it from working. thanks
  6. my bro has a previous gen mr2. fun little thing, though it needed more sound insulation for highway cruising.

how would you recomend cleaning the contacts in the ignition? spray cleaner in it and leave it for a little while, or...? yes the replacing the "ignition" is a ~2+ hour job according to the quote i got from a dealer. yes, have cleaned the "pellet". used rubbing alcohol.... unless that's a horrible idea. about the radio, just to make sure i understand, that's normal to kill the "standby power" to it when the key doesn't work? i don't understand why the rad fan would kick on. make sure it senses it's there and can pass a drain across it? the blinking light, a security light in the IP? how long should i wait between tries of starting the car? thanks for the help. it's been doing this off and on for ~ a month almost. still hate that i don't know what happened to my other key/door/fob.

problems. 1the fob doesn't always unlock my car first try (this one has had that issue before, replaced battery last month) 2also lost 1 set of keys (fob, ignition, door locks) 3doesn't turn over every time i put the key in and try it. 4, correlation to #3, also resets power to my radio. and runs the radiator fan (briefly) my key is a "chipped" key. questions is i tmost liekly my ignition? (cost of ~$400 for new one) or a controller problem? is there a way to check the "controller"? does the security part of this system shut down all system power other than to the IP when the chip isn't "read" or it's the wrong key? (hence the radio reseting) thanks for the help.
  10. if it's anything like the miss in my 3.1L i had.....try replacing (or trading) the spark wires with another car. solved my problem with coils/wires from my sisters 3.4 to my 3.1 and she's not had missing problems.

    Cool Regal

still a little too boxy for my likes...anything 84+ - 87 was were it's at, no matter the engine, at least the regal. ...says the guy that drove an 83 regal wagon for almost 4 years.
  17. maybe if they had less than the 50 (employees) magic number it's be a "small business" and be exempt from many rules and regulations.... *facepalm*
  18. http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1955/Cadillac http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1955/Cadillac/Fleetwood-75-Imperial/Sedan/Values $6,402 which is ~ 53,920.61 now 2011 Escalade Hybrid Platinum RWD $83,385 http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1955/Chevrolet/Bel-Air-Nomad/2-Door-Station-Wagon/Values $2,571 is ~ $21,654.15 today. would the truck be more expensive back then? 2011 Suburban 4WD 2500 LT $54,749 delta on the upper range was is in the 30K for the adjusted price........... about the same as today. edit, the more things change, the more they stay the same. lol
  19. cts MSRP¹ STARTING AT $35,345 MSRP(1) Aveo family starting at $11,965 lowest prices... i could easily find http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/cad1950/CAD55S.HTM 55-62 6219(X 4 Sedan 6 $3977 http://www.carsandstripes.com/1955chevrolet.aspx 1512 2 Door Utility Sedan $1593 2102 2 Door Sedan $1775 2402 2 Door Sedan $1668 http://146.142.4.24/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl?cost1=3977&year1=1955&year2=2011 caddy $ today $33,496.13 chevy $ today $13,416.98 (using $1593 as base line) cadi i smore expensive now compared to then and chevy is cheaper now compared to then. interesting result, but again, this is just 1 sample.
  20. You know what though... I think people want to like Cadillac and they want Cadillac to be the most aspirational car out there. Everybody and their grandmother has a BMW. Right now, it's the product line that is holding them back. They need their 2011 version of the Eldorado Brougham. what was the price delta for cadi back then and today compared to other makes? lowest and highest. i'm guessing cadi's lowest model was much closer to chevy's lowest model compared to today....even if you take inflation into account.
  21. yeah, but tons more safe. lol
  22. lowest here today in my town is 3.429. edit: you can thank the debt deal for increasing the power of the dollar. lol silver dropped almost $4. interesting though is that platinum is w/i $100 of gold. must be a slump in demand...didn't look at car sales threads but i'm guessing car sales dropped off.
  23. and today, tada! gas prices pre tax are below 2.80 today. that'll give me a local price of ~3.20 or so if it stays low enough to "hit the pumps"
