  1. Volkswagen AG expects starting in 2026 when they roll out their next-generation gas and diesel engines that are currently in development that it will be the end of any new ICE power trains. Michael Jost strategy chief for VW has stated that in some markets already ICE is starting to fad and by 2026 as more EVs enter the market place, the transition will be underway. VW will continue to modify and tweak as needed for markets where there is insufficient charging infrastructure which will carry this last power train line past 2050. For all major markets though, EVs will become the norm. Bloomberg Story
  2. I know the front of the truck is polarizing, but https://www.rivian.com has placed a shot across their bow. The Rivian Electric Adventure Truck clearly has the chops to go places most of the other trucks cannot especially in the water.
  3. 2020 Chevy Silverado HD is 910 Pound-feet of UGLY! Road/Show has an awesome title for the story about this truck! https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/2020-chevy-silverado-hd-truck/ So 3 inches of legroom in the rear of the crew cab models tell me they are wanting to go after the buyers of the RAM Mega Cab truck. Gonna have to see what the leg room is as I just saw elsewhere that Ford was also adding legroom to the rear seat area of the crew cabs. Seems we might have a legroom war brewing!
  4. WRONG, She is saving it and planning for a bright future and even bigger profits. The days of a single company being everything from eco entry to ubber luxury are over and focus products is where the profits are and more importantly jobs that are supported by profits.
  5. Sounds like you have been drinking the MB Koolaide where one company will rule it all from entry to ultra luxury. We are a Multicultural Society of Global Products Globally sold and the days of US Empire building are gone along with the English Empire and everyone else that thinks singularly in the world. Globally is the planet you live on.
  6. Why not remove it totally, even if bolted in and open the full space for your need.
  7. I can understand that. You should love the back seats as on the trucks I have checked out, they fold flat to give you a nice flat back storage area. Course that could have changed on the most newest ones.
  8. @ccap41 @Robert Hall When I say this year, I am talking this auto show season which pretty much is over the next 3 oncoming months.
  9. I expect a Volt Powertrain CUV to show up this year and then as they build, expand to other auto's while lower cost. I can honestly say I just do not understand how GM has not had a subcompact and compact plugin hybrid using this powertrain yet. Truly losing sales to Toyota.
  10. I am wondering if we will see new affordable CUVs in the subcompact segment from GM that are VOLT powertrain or EVs. I want to believe that GM is not going to truly abandon people looking for that 15-25K dollar auto.
  11. @ccap41 @Robert Hall This wins the Ugly Incest of the year award. WTF GM, you just had to inbred your truck with something from a bad concept? ??? Thinking on this, is there a new Transformer movie I have not heard about that requires ugly incest kids that arrive on our planet and are really decepticons? ?‍♂️
  12. The majority of projects and personal use has proven that most can live with the 5 1/2 ft bed. Even many small business have found they can do without the 6' or 8' bed as long as they have the tailgate down and that flip out cage that allows them to hold in bulky items. Then flip it inside when done and you have a secure smaller section to put stuff in with the tailgate up. After all, unless you are a construction builder where you daily are putting in 4x8 sheets of sheetrock, plywood, 2x4's, etc. Most projects do fine with the short bed and a crew cab for people and stuff you want dry all the time.
  13. What idiot in design thought this looked good?
  14. Saw today one of the original Lexus coupes at the Park N Ride in excellent shape. They sure are a jelly bean but seem to last.
  15. I really hope the CT6 hangs around as the V edition is just drop dead sexy! The interior is just awesome! Love me this Brown interior!
  16. Very true, the skateboard concept never took off in the 90's when it was all the rage at GM as it would reduce to 25% the number of folks needed to create an auto and the UAW is all about keeping idiot jobs to keep their leadership in power. We are so way past that. The new jobs will be in maintaining the robots that build stuff. Welcome to the 21st century until the 22nd century when robots repair robots and humans are useless as robots will create all due to AI.
  17. WOW, such small minded narrow thinking, keep things static, socialist, live in the past. That video is so full of crap. Too funny that they talk about how great blah appliances from Honda are and they call consumers dumb, your an idiot, go buy something else. This ignorance shows of these two morons that say nothing has ever changed at GM and they are burning Taxpayers money in continuing to waste on idiot pipe dreams that have no use or place is just amazing. People who clearly have no desire to learn and grow to be better. They sound like seniors that just want to hear themselves and keep things static. Idiots ?
  18. Based on your statement then MB should be scrapping many of their low selling cars.
  19. AND The Other Shoe Drops, Bloomberg is reporting that under review from Morgan Stanley, Fords $11 Billion restructuring could cost 25,000 employees their jobs, exceeding GMs cutbacks. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-12-03/morgan-stanley-predicts-ford-to-cut-25-000-jobs-in-restructuring Morgan Stanley says the largest portion will be in Europe of cutting if not closing Ford of Europe, a business that currently has a NEGATIVE $7 Billion value. Europe is bleeding Ford. Per Ford's announced restructuring that the 70,000 salaried employees will face unspecified job losses beginning in the middle of next year as Ford works through their reorg. Starting in early Spring of next year Ford will cut shifts at two U.S. Factories and transfer som workers to plants building Big SUVs and Transmission for pickups. To Quote Morgan Stanley: Jonas said other automakers will be forced to follow GM’s and Ford’s actions as the industry transforms, first to abandon factories building slow-selling sedans and ultimately to retool to build electric and self-driving vehicles. “We believe existential business model risk will be prioritized over near-term profits and cash return,” Jonas wrote. “We still do not believe investor expectations have fully considered the near-term earnings risk.”
  20. Hello just think of how messy Sleet is, freezing rain, what ever you want to call it. Weather is another game all together.
  21. Where did you get your China Number as I know there is fluctuation between different reporting outfits. The millions on the road and 1.23 million sold last year from both domestic and foreign brands comes from: https://www.statista.com/chart/14098/electric-car-sales-are-surging-in-china/ http://www.ev-volumes.com/country/china/ It is interesting to see where they go and you are correct what works in China is not going to work in the US. Very different dynamics and expectations. They have a young auto culture and so EVs I expect to catch on faster than in the US with the Baby boomers and 50-60 year olds resisting change. That is just cause we know you love a stick with a knob on it!
