  1. No problem with that, I can totally understand this and sometimes, an almost identical tool from another place just offers the one thing that American manufacturing does not. Gotta stay open to the world to incorporate the best of everyone.
  2. We'll thought it was time for us to have a fun thread of posting stuff we find from Japan. Crazy the auto modifications that are allowed in Japan for street legal driving.
  3. This Builder takes a Mazda MX-5 and builds these English Style Roadsters. Mitsuoka Himiko The Mitsuoka Himiko is a Japanese sports car designed and built by Mitsuoka. It is named after Himiko, an obscure shaman queen of Yamataikoku in ancient Wa. In the UK it is known as the Mitsuoka Roadster. Based on the Mazda MX-5 NC, Mitsuoka replaces most of the body panels, fits Fibre-reinforced plastic panneling, leather seats and extends the wheelbase front of the A-pillar to generate the long bonnet line reminiscent of English roadsters such as the Jaguar XK120 and particularly the Morgan Aero 8. Designed by Takanori Aoki, the exterior theme of the Himiko is said to mimic a 'ship riding the high seas cruising majestically as one with the waves'. Transmission and roof options are similar to the MX-5 with the option of either a 6 speed automatic transmission with manual shifting or a 6 speed manual transmission. Each Mitsuoka vehicle is handmade by just 45 skilled craftsmen at the Japanese Mitsuoka factory in Toyama City, Japan. http://www.mitsuoka-motor.co.uk/ http://www.mitsuoka-himiko.com/ Bing Images
  4. History lesson, Deming tried to teach the US manufacturing industry how to build better products in the 70's and was blown off as a waste of time and money. Deming then went to Japan and they listened and followed his methodology to become the manufacturing power they are today. If it was not for American thinking of better ways to build products, the US arrogance of we are best already and blowing off Demming, Japan would not become who they are today. Germans also decided after Japan to follow the Demming way. Only after American Auto industry has been beaten to a pulp by the rest of the industry did they finally wake up to building better products. http://www.wyohistory.org/encyclopedia/w-edwards-deming If you want to be the best, you have to rethink how you build the best.
  5. Not this American, Bling is so Baby Boomer 1960's. Yet BMW and Benze makes billions off selling monochromatic versions of their auto's at the high trim levels especially the AMG and M line. I love the look of black chrome far better than traditional chrome. To me luxury is understated and not a bling reflection attack as you drive down the highway. I agree self limiting, I love the world and from all over. I choose to support American Companies first before moving onto products from the rest of the world. That is the difference some of us have. America First, then the world. things get along just fine then.
  6. I see no problem with crushing, I wonder if the bean counters have taken all the work and time to fix TDI's versus just crushing them all and recycling the scrap. Wonder what the cost difference would be.
  7. WOW She looks like she is not sure what happened even though it is her fault.
  8. Loved this video too!
  9. Very cool fast fast fun!
  10. Love the look, wish they had an option for Monochromatic Avenir and Premium version. Not sure why American auto companies think Chrome Everything is a requirement to express that you have a top of the line auto!
  11. LOL, the one that cracks me up is when I see Ultimate Off road capable for a 2wd RWD/FWD CUV. Are people really that stupid to not realize that the 2wd RWD/FWD CUVs are pretty much on road drivers only? This seems to be very common for Jeep posting of 2WD wranglers, Patriots, Compass, etc.
  12. EV Polestar lineup coming to a fictional store near you! Tuned by Lotus, Powered by Electricity!
  13. When the light is on, have you stopped by an O'Reilly's to borrow their scanner and see what the codes are that have been thrown? This would give you a good idea of where to begin the hunt for the cause. I wonder if the vent line is plugged.
  14. @A Horse With No Name Love the Roadster, GTO and Truck, they rock!
  15. My Dream Garage is based on my favorite auto's and the motor or EV upgrades I would do. 1987 Buick Regal GNX - Keep it stock as is Collector 1987 Monte Carlo SS Aero - Powertrain Upgrade 1994 Chevrolet Impala SS - Powertrain Upgrade Monte Carlo and Impala would get the following Powertrain upgrade from GM Performance Connect and Cruise: LT1 V8 with 8sp auto 455hp 455 lb-ft torque 1996 GMC Yukon GT - Powertrain Conversion Protean Electric in wheel hub motors - 455HP 2000 lb-ft of torque. EV Conversion 1996 GMC SLE Suburban - Powertrain upgrade from GM Performance Cruise and Connect GM Performance Cruise and Connect powertrain - 502 RamJet with 4L85-E transmission 502HP 568 lb-ft torque
  16. Not sure just how many w body platforms are on the road compared to accord, but this story from 2014 where it stated Honda as saying over the past 30 years they had built and sold 10 million accords in North America and it is still to this day the #1 most stolen auto with no real reason other than they are easy to break into and steal for stripping on the aftermarket. http://abcnews.go.com/Business/honda-accord-stolen-vehicle/story?id=23883693 If someone would pay for an Experian report we could probably see just how many specific models are registered to see who has the most on the roads. This site would give us the answer, anyone have an extra $325.00 for the report? https://www.statista.com/study/11463/car-brands-statista-dossier/
  17. AGREE 10000% This would be a great way for them to re-image themselves as an industry leader and go pure EV for the product line.
  18. Agreed, that is an awesome model that I think will serve them well.
  19. Best Selling car? Would that not be all the variations of the GM W platform? After all if the guest who I suspect has been here before under another name believes that, then you have to really look at the platforms that have supported the cars that sell so well. I suspect GM's W platform would be right up there as some of the best if not the best.
  20. Knock off, cue Jeep Cherokee. Should do them well in sales. Thought I am not a fan of them coping Benze and the STUPID Floating nav screen. Give them Kudo's for a HUD, glad to see AWD option and that an EV version is coming.
