This is Great. Once people stop thinking GM and only think Chevy, Buick, GMC Cadillac it will be much more positive. The lesson to learn here is that GM can make universal parts that can be used across business units but the exterior and interior need to stand apart on their own.

Cadillac News: What Cadillac Has In Store For The Next Few Years

So if Cadillac does a inline 6 you will then bash it as being the old Chevy straight 6 from the trailblazer.- 30 replies

Google and Car Makers at odds over Self-Driving Cars
G. David Felt replied to kittyworker's topic in Industry News
20 years to be legal and another 20 to become common like a Prius and then 20 more years to replace the bulk of auto's. About 60 years from now. -
That is very weird. Hope they get caught by the law. DDOS just hurts everyone.

Electric Conversions, Worth it?
G. David Felt replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
In researching this for my suburban, I found that the Electric motor I show above AMR 250-90D takes only 1/3 the space under the hood compared to the existing motor and connects to the current transmission. I then loose my exhaust system and fuel tank. So space on both sides of the drive line is where you can have battery packs as well as behind the rear differential as they can have battery cells there also. You have a wiring harness that connects to the existing harness in the dash so you do not loose anything, your gas gauge becomes the battery charge indicator and if you want you can change it out to be very accurate with a new digital unit. With Cheaper insurance on older auto's and styles that I like, there is valid reasons to convert. -
Would Porsche be better off on its own?
G. David Felt replied to JulianWilliams's topic in Volkswagen
I suspect Porsche helps support VW products since they do have one of the highest profits per auto. -
Makes one wonder if GM with the Chevy BOLT will do better by also pushing a charging network.

I believe the company is here for the long haul and has respectable products. Stock price is currently over valued in relation to product depth. Like Drew states, eventually it will get to the proper price to performance ratio.

They should pull it in as soon as possible as coworkers who had older versions are not thrilled with the new version. They will loose sales and market share.

Cadillac News: What Cadillac Has In Store For The Next Few Years
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
Yet if they are really spending this amount of money most of it is going to their over priced Union labor and excessive time off as the quality of their auto's leave much to be questioned. Plus if they are truly spending all this cash, then why does an S class MB loose half it's value to be on par with a Lincoln in only a couple years and yet cost ten's of thousands to fix. Clearly they are not spending wisely, just spending.- 30 replies

Nope, They have way too many strings attached. Keep my money in the Good O'L USA.
-
So MB S-Class is now equal to Lincoln since they both have about the same heavy depreciation.

For me there are multiple choices. Drag Racing for top fuel, powertrains, etc. Autocross racing for real world auto's being raced Drakar race for the off road excitement of what you can possibly purchase at your dealers lot.

Cadillac News: What Cadillac Has In Store For The Next Few Years
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
Cool to hear, I think they will all benefit the line except for one. I am not sure that they need a Compact Crossover. This is covered by the Buick Encore. After that I would think someone would want to step up into a SRX, not stay with an Encore size and a few more bling items.- 30 replies

Do diesel cars have much of a future?
G. David Felt replied to JulianWilliams's topic in Industry News
Diesel still has a proper spot in hauling truck use for trailers, etc. With that said, I see a future where more Semi's are CNG or Hybrid of Electric motor driven with a gas or CNG Generator. Technology has moved to allowing us to finally move beyond old standards. -
Michigan Governor Signs Bill Banning Direct Auto Sales
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Tesla
Yes I agree that some one will lose, but then technology we have today was not around when these out of date laws went into affect. As such, the politicians who are supposed to work for the public need to update and change for the public not the unions or business special interests. -

How much does it cost to have your kid practice Go Karting?
G. David Felt replied to JulianWilliams's topic in The Lounge
Here (Seattle Washington USA) we have both indoor and outdoor tracks. Since Seattle has rain 9 months of the year many stick to the indoor tracks. Over all I find it pretty reasonable and a great family building activity. http://www.k1speed.com/seattle-location.html Lots of fun for everyone. $6 for your annual license and training, then $19.99 for 14 laps. They do have custom packages. Another Indoor Track - http://www.traxxracing.com/ Yet some of us also like the real world outdoor tracks where you do have to deal with the rain and the slick track conditions. http://pacificgp.com/ Pacific GP has what I consider one of the best outdoor tracks around. They also have wet weather clothing and helmets that you can use. Here is their pricing info: Non-Member PricingNot a member yet?
