  1. Gotcha! One question. You think that Cadillac or Lincoln arent capable because dont have the expertise or because they arent willing? Remember that Chrysler has merged with Fiat. Maserati and Ferrari. So...do you think that Chrysler aint capable either or not willing? Are we gonna shyte on Ferrari for FCA if you think FCA aint capable? I just wanna know where you really stand on the issue. Its still a tad vague for me. Having no expertise versus not willing are two different things. What is your reasoning for your opinion?
  2. With low gas prices again, Id be willing to suggest that GMC stop with the EV HUMMER and just resurrect the H1 and H2.
  3. Yes. That is what boutique manufacturing and boutique manufacturers are. A customer buys a Ferrari, Rolls, Bentley, Pagani, Koenigsegg, Lamborghini, McLaren, Maybach trim Mercedes S Class, certain Porsche 911s and higher end Porsches, Black Label Lincolns, etc... and the customer gets to customize, personalize their vehicle. Rolls and Bentley go beyond that. Rolls will produce ANY colour you want. And will put that colour on ANYTHING you want. They would even paint a scale model version of your car. They will even taylor you a suit with said colour choice or vice versa. Take your favorite suit colour and duplicate it for your car. You would like Coca-Cola's red can colour as a paint job for your Rolls, they will do it. For a huge fee, but they will do it. And of course the quality of the materials are top notch. Why the hell not? You are paying for it through the nose... You pay for what you get... And all that is handmade as much as handmade could be. Well...the Celestiq will be handmade... The Celestiq's boutique experience is not yet revealed as to how and what will be personalized and to what extent and what kind of quality of materials will be used. For all we know... Blue Whale penis skin could be used as a material for the doors and dash and koala and panda bear fur could be used for the carpet and headliner. Shark skin with touches of bald eagle feathers could be used for the seats and headrests. Point being, we dont know details...yet we are being very judgemental. Point being, I would think that Cadillac folk have learned their lessons by now. Johan wasnt all that bad. He probably told the beancounters to phoque off. Mary Barra probably listened to the harsh criticisms Johan must have had with the CT6. After all, he did criticize very publicly the CT6, and by retreating the CT6's statuts as THE top dog Cadillac status that the previous admin was saying about the it... And, looking at how GM responded with the Corvette C8 and the Escalade (maybe as we havent really seen it, but it looks to deliver like the C8 does...I dont get why we should be as harsh towards the Celestiq. I mean...I get why...the malaise era is why. But on the flip side...the Corvette C8 and 2021 Escalade and the 2020 CT4 V and CT5 V say that GM has FINALLY kicked that bad habit.
  4. I didnt know whether to laugh because it was funny, or an upvote because its true. We are WORSE than damn dirty apes. Apes could be more civil to each other than we are towards our own kind. Apes respect other animals....we dont. We respect nothing. We could also be more filthy than apes. And apes play with their feces... I get truly disgusted with humans sometimes. PS: Thank-you for your kind words towards my family and business. And I wish you the same.
  5. The one genre of music that Im not a big fan of, but I do have some favorites spanning from the '50s-'90s is country. But I was deeply saddened just now. I just found out that Kenny Rogers died. RIP. And then there is Ghetto Superstar, that is what you are...or something like that. I never liked the Dolly Parton duo song, nor this sampled version, but it this version is something that I have fond memories with...
  6. no I got a drive-thru. I recently renovated, maybe 5-6 years now, and we made a drive-thru. We were fed up with people bitchin' about us not having a drive-thru. And the reno paid itself off in no time as in no time, the drive-thru accounts for 50-60% of our sales. And...with this virus thing, we have closed the restaurant and only serve people with the drive-thru.
  7. Yup This is the new norm. I see exactly that in my restaurant. Not only with paying for their food that sometimes the internet is down and they have to pay cash and cash payments for them are too slow... but some of them are impatient of the actual time it takes to cook their burger on the damned grill... Yeah...because Im like a mom and pop shop in that I dont precook a zillion burgers ahead of time. Our burgers are made to order and it takes 5-7 minutes to cook a phoquing burger and THAT apparently is too long... Freshly made on the spot and yet that aitn good enough... Meaning...what YOU are observing about people wanting faster is and outs...well...those types that are impatient like that could... As a society, we aint heading in the right direction being shytty like that.... But as @smk4565 replied to you:
  8. ^^^ I dedicate a song for that sexy boy. You know what? that boy beside his S10 maybe too sexy...too sexy for his S10
  9. I just saw that... Huracan and a 911 GT2? A GT2? THAT is a track focused, top of the line Porsche. It costs 300 000 dollars. A Huracan is also 250 000. The Lambo has got a 550 some odd HP... You are really phoqued in the head.... PS...the Vette engineers benchmarked the GT2. The Z06 is gonna be launched. WHEN it beats the performance numbers of the GT2 RS...what are you gonna say then? And even if the Z06 comes close but does not beat the GT2 RS, but has a price tag lwess than half of the GT2 RS...what are you gonna say? A GT RS is 300 000 dollars....the Z06 will be around 120 000... You really are phoqued in the head...
  10. So why are you comparing a 100 000 dollar top of the line AMG with a BASE Vette? That is almost double the price. And dont forget the 170 HP and 200 ft/lbs of torque MORE on it. Also...its an AMG. Its a tuned car tuned for...ultimate performance by a PERFORMANCE arm of Mercedes... The Vette...is a BASE Corvette STRAIGHT from the factory. No enhancements of ANY kind. "Crappy" factory exhaust. "Crappy" factory engine tuning meant to appease insurance companies, EPA, reliability for daily driven duties and track use, except it aint a full on track car. "Crappy" factory tires meant for public streets and highways that should last at least 50 000 miles of normal daily driving in normal weather, including rain, for what they are worth as sports car tires for the street that also cater to road noise inside the cabin. "Crappy" factory brakes. Notice "crappy" is in quotations... " " These are still the BASE FACTORY stuff on the BASE Corvette. BASE price of 59 995. Z51 I think starts at 64 995. That would be the BASE track Stingray. That post....its like you turned a 180 degree turn.. Dont forget, the C8 Corvette has another 2 levels to go. A Z06 equivalent and a ZR1 equivalent. And those are CONFIRMED by Chevrolet. The Z06 will soon be revealed in the coming months. June, July.... The Corvette ALWAYS punched above its price tag. And NOW...there is LITERALLY NOTHING ANYBODY could whine about the C8. ALL the things that the whiners complained about the Corvette's "shortcomings" all have been addressed and fixed. There is a new one...no manual transmission... You cant please everybody. Phoque-em! Regardless... The C8 Corvette shows what GM can do. What Cadillac could do. What Chevy already does. The C8 Corvette is PROOF that the beancounters no longer impose cheapness and the C8 Corvette shows where GM's strategy and future product is at... This of course is my opinion and you are entitled to yours. But when you discuss with me....keep things equal and level. I do that. You SHOULD do it too.
  11. Yeah yeah... We all know the argument.... Its a tired old argument. Meanwhile in 2021 going forward AT GM At Cadillac CELESTIQ WILL BE HANDBUILT Now...lets stop with the useless back and forth to a vehicle that looks like this still
  12. @smk4565 You contend yourself with this AMG car at the mid 50 000 dollar range... and Ill contend myself with this at 65 000... And Ill be laughing at you thinking you got a better, faster, more luxurious car for the price... PS: I could probably fit more stuff in the Vette too...
  13. BASE CORVETTE BASE CORVETTE BASE CORVETTE BASE CORVETTE BASE CORVETTE BASE CORVETTE 65 000 DOLLARS Z51 Pack 65 000 DOLLARS Z51 Pack 65 000 DOLLARS Z51 Pack 65 000 DOLLARS Z51 Pack 65 000 DOLLARS Z51 Pack 65 000 DOLLARS Z51 Pack THE MERCEDES IS AN AMG THE MERCEDES IS AN AMG THE MERCEDES IS AN AMG THE MERCEDES IS AN AMG THE MERCEDES IS AN AMG THE MERCEDES IS AN AMG 100 000 plus DOLLARS 100 000 plus DOLLARS 100 000 plus DOLLARS 100 000 plus DOLLARS 100 000 plus DOLLARS 100 000 plus DOLLARS https://www.motortrend.com/news/2020-chevrolet-corvette-c8-nurburgring-lap-time/ With an extra 171 horsepower and 205 some odd torque with AWD...the Vette is NATURALLY ASPIRATED...and the AMG sedan is TURBO...(HP 630 hp; Torque 664 lb-ft) and 40 000 dollars more...all 4 for 4 phoquing seconds on a 16 mile course? when you ALSO TROLLED Like...are you gonna shut up and STOP with the BULLSHYTE???!!!! Im kinda had it with this nonsense back and forth!!!
  14. The only NiN song I liked (past tense) is...and only because it was super popular with the Montreal strippers when they did their...um...dance is...Closer. But Im over the song. Like 20 years ago. I wont listen to it anymore. I do have some fun memories with the song playing in the background, though. Apparently...this was also a stripper favorite. Was too young for the strip clubs for this song, but I did have some fun times at the rollerblade rink with a couple of dates back in the day. The song was a staple for that scene too... Def Leppard would be my favorite 1980s rock band and Hysteria would be THE album... "Step inside, walk this way. You and me babe...hey hey!!!" will ALWAYS be the intro version for me!!! ZZ TOP, Van Halen and AC/DC follow closely!
  15. We are all smack talking Cadillac for not being able to sell us a high end 200 000 dollar car.... Bean counter arguments and tooo long ago history that Cadillac builders somehow forgot how to stitch a phoquing seam on leather....to whale penis blubber arguments that seem to be on other "luxury" vehicles... https://www.wired.com/2009/11/dartz/ Yet we forget that the Celestiq WILL be handbuilt... We could say that GM beancounters ALWAYS hamstring stuff...yet...the CELESTIQ WILL BE HANDBUILT.... You'd think that the beancounters will allow the necessary funds to allow this to happen the way it should, right? I mean...ITS GONNA BE HANDBUILT... Its GONNA BE A BOUTIQUE vehicle, non? Aint Bentley, Rolls, Ferrari and the like BOUTIQUE manufacturers??? Well...the Celestiq WILL be the same. This will NOT be mass produced. It will be on order to SPECIFIC...PERSONALIZED interiors... THIS is going back to how Cadillac, Duesenberg, Lincolns and ALL luxury cars were made...including the body. An owner chose the coach builder then... Anyway... There is a lot of shyte talking on a car that is not even out yet. Please, if we are gonna shyte on the Celestiq, at least wait until it actually comes out for sale. Then we can shyte on it. But I know one thing... Looking at the Corvette C8....for the BILLIONTH time... At what the engineers ACCOMPLISHED with THAT platform...at that PHOQUING PRICE POINT!!! ITS SAFE TO SAY THAT: 1. GM ENGINEERS BRING IT!!! 2. BEANCOUNTERS DONT EXERCISE THEIR FULL MIGHT ON THE PRODUCTS ANYMORE, RIGHT???!!! 3. ITS A CADILLAC. THAT MEANS GOING FORWARD...IT GOING TO BE A CADILLAC. LOOK AT THE 2021 ESCALADE'S INTERIOR PS: These are not 200 000 dollar Mercedes cars... Funny...nobody bats an eye lid for this shyte that Mercedes is peddling...RIGHT NOW...in the USofA. Cadillac is going UPSCALE and we find problems. Mercedes is continuing to go DOWNSCALE...yet we are fine with that... Something is wrong with our thinking!!! Why arent we bitching at Mercedes beancounting ways??? The CLA has a shyte reliabilty problem. The interior is cheap cheap cheap... THIS is a car that was released but a few years ago... For the second time...at least...in the new millennium....Mercedes Benz has SHYTE on their image. Anybody remember THIS Cimarron equivalent? I DO!!! Funny though....Mercedes GETS A PASS???!!! I DONT THINK SO!!! There is NO justification for Mercedes. THESE ARE WORSE THAN WHAT CADILLAC HAS EVER DONE!!! CIMARRON INCLUDED!!!
  16. The fantasy choice that ignores reality that is more in line to what we need to do to make this a fun thread.
  17. This was a common discussion over at Motor Trend forums and one that always amused me. An end of days vehicle thread is always fun . I will do two choices. The first will be a smart ass choice because I like being a smart ass... And then will be a choice that is fun and to the thread's point meaning...lets have fun, man. Fantasy threads are awesome, man!!! OK...the smart ass choice. You guys do realize, that when the sky is falling, and the end is near for humans...that gasoline will be scarce...right? Who is gonna refine that black gold to make gasoline. Who is gonna transport it to the gas pumps? Yeah...that's right! NO-BAW-DY! Depending where I decide in North America to escape from other dimwitted humans fighting each other for whatever it is they are fighting for in a collapse of sanity and order... The indigenous people knew how to get around in their homeland BEFORE the white man came over...Im just gonna copy what they did. To hunt and to protect. Old school with the bow and arrow because wood and stone could be found anywhere in the woods and river beds so I could make my own arrows and the bow itself and the like and a modern tomahawk because...well modern tomahawk is just an awesome tool that has been improved 1000% from an equally awesome predecessor. Plus miscellaneous modern survival stuff., The gun only as a last last resort. Bullets are gonna be hard to find. So we use those sparingly. And a North American Indian Canoe. The original go anywhere vehicle for North America. Light that one could carry it with ease in the forests, and easy to manoeuvre in the many little rivers of North America that could withstand the sometimes raging flows of those little rivers.... And easy to make. And if I decide to go waaaay waaaay up north to really make sure I get away from shytty humans... My vehicle of choice. Huskies and a sled
  18. @dfelt You didnt piss me off, insult me or offend me in any way. LOL Im just correcting a misnomer about jobs in America... Shopkeep is the backbone of America. Or at least it was... Shopkeep was the KEY to the American Dream... Shopkeep was THE middle class. Now we have key phrases such as minimum wage is not/should not be wages big enough for a livable income? Lack of skillset? Shopkeep is the BACKBONE of BIG CORPORATIONS. Shopkeepers do what CEOs do... What skillsets are those you say at a small, family owned business? The basics of business 101 Id say. Food costs, payroll, advertising, balancing books, ordering product. Pricing the product to break even and then pricing the product to make a profit. Customer satisfaction. The actual work to prep and cook the food. Management of human resources and scheduling and teaching the job... The people that get trained to do the job also should be learning these skills from their bosses. Apprenticeships dont exist anymore. But apprenticeships in the restaurant industry and the mechanics domain and the carpentry industry and the plumbing industry was a STAPLE in American business and was a STAPLE for KEEPING the middle class stay afloat. It seems like Wall Street has done a number to you as well...and your Mr. Dfelt, are a sound, intelligent man. But this brain washing runs deep...deep enough even to skew intelligent folk much like yourself. I aint mad, nor do I want to insult you. Because I realize I might have...but I just want to EXPOSE thew bullshyte that runs rampant in modern day talk about minimum wage...
  19. Sitting here contemplating what business hours we need to stay open...to be safe and responsible...(already Quebec made it law that restaurants could stay open but need to limit their capacity ton 50%). Or if maybe I stay open but drive thu only.... Anyway... Some songs that inspired me that also reminded me of Covid-19 . I kinda like the cute way Im thinking about it...lyrics and the up beat music...
  20. @dfelt https://www.mercedesamgf1.com/en/news/2020/2020-f1-launch/mercedes-announces-principal-partnership-ineos/
  21. True. But there is no incentive for restaurant staff to have pride in their work. Students...between their school day and their work day...really have loooong hours to achieve what it is they need to achieve in that day. Ungrateful bosses (owners or managers) and ESPECIALLY clients giving them shyte... MONEY...as in the piss poor amount they make vis-avis what they need to do to satisfy cleanliness, proper food prep, customer satisfaction... However...what DFELT said But... THAT is such a false statement. THAT statement is such a common brain washing attempt to suppress restaurant worker wages... And yet...not toooooo long ago...it was. How many Italian American and Italian Canadian, Jewish American and Jewish Canadian, Greek American and Greek Canadian, Chinese American and Chinese Canadian have immigrated to either country (US and Canada) from the 1900s-1970s and started off working at restaurants as dish washers or burger flippers, started a family, raised a family, bought houses and sent money BACK to the OLD COUNTRY and then STILL had enough money for some of them to even BUY OUT their FORMER boss' restaurant or start their own business to then have their sons and daughters work in that business? How many DINERS were open in the USofA feeding all walks of life from your friendly neighborhood police man to the trucker that trucked on from coast to coast and the waitress fed her son whose daddy was either killed in Viet Nam or Korea or whatever... I have seen it COUNTLESS of times. Then. You know when I stopped seeing this? Right about when Wall Street started bulshytiing Washington and then Washington (Ronald Reagan) gave FREE reigns for that greed and then that middle class dream went up in smoke... I pay my students slightly more than minimum. I MENTOR them to take pride in the JOB they do. I DEFEND MY RESTAURANT, MY FOOD I and MY STAFF serve and MY employees FROM SHYTTY ENTITLED customers. But I also GIVE GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE in RETURN for the MONEY the clients PAY US. (If we happen to phoque up...we own it) I cant give my staff any more than I do. The system is rigged. Apart from taxes and all... Big corporations and suppliers that supply me my stuff, GOUGE the PHOQUE outta me... In the good ole days when restaurant owners had to buy their stuff at the local grocery store...all had decent prices that also paid their workers decent salaries and everybody made decent wages that fed that supply chain and kept it moving. I dont do my own grocery shopping at the local grocery store that was once owned by my neighbor... And that supplier SHOULD be cheaper than that of the grocery store...but it aint...often its MORE expensive sometimes... And so forth and so forth...
  22. Are you buzzing? Look at the date... And stop trolling... turbos and superchargers and big displacements are part of M-B.
  23. The Corvette is being sold in the HERE and NOW... The Corvette has a platform that WILL support hybrid EV with ICE and only ICE AND could be used to go 100% BEV... Tadge was being coy when being asked about future possible C8 platformed Vettes...but he hinted LOUDLY and CLEARLY that the car is compliant with GM's future with EVs and BEVs and that the platform is engineered that way... PLUS... the AMG-ONE is DEAD DEAD DEAD And quite frankly...it and Mercedes go to HELL HELL HELL for all I care...
