  1. I never met my father-n-law. He passed away before I met my wife. She was 26 years old when she lost her dad from a heart attack. Like Hyper mentioned. My father-n-law had no life insurances or wills or trusts in place. My wife to be bore the brunt of burying her dad as her other siblings were too consumed with their selfish needs. So she indebted herself financially and took care of her dad's burial and took care of her mom financially too as my mother-n-law was also a stay at home mom.. She got life insurance for herself right away immediately after the funeral was over. Made her mom get one too. When she met me...and it was official that we were to spend our lives together, she made me get life insurance. When my dad passed away, he had life and funeral insurances through Canadair, the company he worked for. He also revised his will 2 years before passing away when he knew his time was coming up. That was a smooth financial transition. When he passed away, my wife and I both made wills, to make sure, knock on wood, something happens to both of us NOW, our kids get taken care of....financially and guidance wise too. When my mom passed away last year, her will was in order, her burial was paid for mostly from the insurances of Canadair that was passed on to her through my dad's employment. Minor things were not covered and was paid for by my mom's estate that I inherited from her. I still had to wait 30 days for her bank account to unfreeze so I could get access to it, even though I always had access to it...I had a joint account with her when my dad passed away. It dont matter, that is how the law works. Its a good thing I had cash in my own bank account...and...this is when credit cards do come in handy... Keep in mind, Im an only child, therefore I had no other siblings fighting me for power of attorney or fighting me for the right to access any bank accounts etc...this is an area that is sensitive. A will and a power of attorney and executor of an estate to be appointed need to be done so there will be no sibling and family bickering. And its legit through the eyes of the law. After my mom passed away, my wife and I have revised our wills again. Allocated proper power of attorneys and monies for our children to better reflect this current situation. 10 years have passed since our wills were done. Although its good to have a will. As time goes by, so do situations in life. Staying current is good too. Next big expense that will be made by my wife and I...probaby next year... We are going to buy and pay for asap, our burial plots, tombstone and funeral parlour, so we dont burden our children with it. Like Hyper said...its part of life...death is... Like I say often. We must embrace it, not run away from it...because it is inescapable...
  2. This little green guy agrees
  3. ^^^ Is that a final pic? I mean, the flatbed tow truck in the background is there to take her away? Both sad and happy moments! Sad as you wont be having your Catalina. Happy as a Grand Prix gets to live. GREAT as you are donating the frame and power train for somebody else's dream to come true! From the 2 years Ive been here, Im 100% positive you will be acquiring a Catalina coupe sometime in the future. And I am happy as of now for you when you will get one back!
  4. This is Frisky eating his words. CORNY...I know...
  5. What is wrong with a Corvette based SUV? Trailblazer AWD SS? Its because it dont exist anymore!!! But then again, a Trailblazer was not CUV... A Trailblazer was a midsized real Sports Utility Vehicle capable of real Sports Utility Vehicle kinds of stuff. A small Tracker, was also a real Sport Utility Vehicle capable of real Sport Utility Vehicle kinds of stuff. Making these types of vehicles ripe for any performance oriented pleasures. . Or this guy for that matter... Or this guy... But this guy, just seems sooooo fake to me...CUV/SAV...not good!!! Cadillac needs to attract the faker, wannabes. Minus a few dudes that actually know what the V Series stuff is all about, just like the M stuff from BMW enthusiasts. But now, fake latte swilling wannabes just buy badges. Cadillac needs that type of buyer... Chevrolet's performance cars and trucks on the other hand, are for the REAL car and truck enthusiasts. Over simplified and generalized theory I know. Im not writing a thesis paper for Harvard...sarcasm for laughs is what this is...including and especially the last bolded sentence I wrote in this post...
  6. Id HEMI swap this thing and call it a I do see a flaw with KIA's thinking though. The Stinger is KIA's answer for it to be a budget BMW 4Series Grand Sport, albeit less handly than the Bimmer but more GT cruiser than it as well. Which is fantastic thinking. Where I see the problem is that BMW in the very near future will make its 3/4Series with hybrid electric power. As near of a future as 2018. Me thinks the Stinger should be available with hybrid electric technology as of now. At the very latest...2018...
  7. For the love of...NO! NO PERFORMANCE CUVs...Not for Chevy. Not for GMC. Not even for Cadillac. OK...yes for Cadillac. Unless we are talking about off roading performance. I could see a lifted version of the Trax filling the shoes of a Tracker. If its platform could handle that transformation that is.
  8. Sedan. 2016 Dodge Charger Hellcat. You could tell this car means business. Coupe. So many to chose from. Ill go with a 4rt gen Trans Am WS6 Convertible. Soooooo many to choose from. I always liked a 1964 Galaxie 500XL convertible's butt. Wagon. Citroen SM 1970 I think. Pick up truck. 1978 Lil Red Express No SUV for me. Not that I tried hard to find one... Wildcard. The F18 Hornet might not be a fighter I like, I think the rear of it is awesome.
  9. It depends for me as well. Fender flares that is. Those Porsches are awesome. I dont know if the Challenger could pull it off though. But those fender flares are needed in housing the bigger rubber the Demon will have... Im more interested in the 200+ lbs reduction and what they did to achieve it. Also...curious about them horsepower figures.
  10. My heart is with you Mr. DFELT
  11. Diane: "Name me 3 cars that start with P." Sam: "That is easy. Porsche, Pontiac and Plymouth." Diane: "NO! Those start with gas!!!"
  12. http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/future-cars/news/a32339/2018-dodge-challenger-srt-demon-everything-we-think-we-know/ The Dodge Brothers were not sitting at home with Idle Hands doing nothing...yet the DEVIL came a-knocking anyhow! Coming to New York. SOON!
  13. COOPERSTOWN, NEW YORK That makes 3. Vladimir Guerrero will make 4 next year. But he might not make it in with an Expos jersey.
  14. I know of another person that doesn't like this new front nose. The common complaint: it makes the nose look droopy... I don't see that at all... From this angle...this looks HOT to me!!! In my line of work...we say...we cant please everyone.
  15. @dfelt@ccap41 Somebody will always try to beat the system...that is soooo true! EXACTLY...that is why in turn, a recorded GPS system will eventually replace the honour system way of someone recording only the miles. And, if I was a politician, Id be a shrewd politician and I woulkd just go the GPS way right off the bat... Eliminates cheating from the get go and saves money as the GPS downloads IMMEDIATELY the EXACTITUDE of mileage one does with a touch of a button without any other human intervention eliminating an unnecessary wage in the process. We already do taxes online... a 2016 model car is already plugged into the internet with GPS capabilities through google maps and other such shyte with our fetishes of 55 inch screens in our cars and our iPhones.... Its a no brainer... So...no thanx for me and the tax per mile. And...just to say...I live 6 miles away from my restaurant. 12 miles per day I travel. Not a whole lot. So it be an advantage for me... I value my privacy a tad more.
  16. Tax per mile? I dont like that idea. That means that somebody needs to know how many miles I do per year. That means somebody needs to track me and my movements. Although Im a fairly honest man and I have nothing to hide, the idea of having a tracker of some sort makes me cringe and cry for the yet another freedom lost. The freedom of nobody knowing what the hell it is that Im doing. I like to think that Im free to roam anywhere I damn well please without anybody recording my every move. Its bad enough that cities all over the world have CCTV cameras with business security cameras. I dont need yet another recording device in my so-call free life I live in the free 1st world...
  17. Im sure the wing is optional equipment , or at the very least have a wing delete option. The yellow (in reality body colour)air diffuser is no longer body colour but black. I actually do prefer it body colour, but lets be honest, having it body colour is boy racerish. It being black makes it more mature back there. OK, the front end. I dont see a difference in headlights, positioning of said headlights. To me, the look the same droopiness. OK, its enhanced by the triangular housing for the LED strips rather than the squareish housing that houses the vanity lights that want to pass off as fog lights... I dont personally have a problem with that triangle versus the square. Combine that with the narrower air vent and its less black plastic I have to see in the front. Its bad enough there is a ton of black plastic in the back. Like I said, I do prefer the air diffusers in body colour, but the car does look more mature although more plasticky this way... You know what wrecks today's car styling as opposed to how cars were detailed back in the day? Those skinny chromed bumpers. It separates the hood from the grille from the air vents on the bottom. In the back, it details and finishes off the over all presentation. The 2018 Mustang just highlights automotive styling problems of the modern era...
  18. LOL at your description Frisky. As long as you are not taking about Pokemon, we good!!! EDIT: But thanx to you, I looked at the Mustang again, its yellow, and the only thing I can think about is Pikachu...
  19. Barely anything has changed. It even looks a tad more cleaner than the previous model, in my opinion. I still prefer this over the Camaro. A base Alpha platform Camaro drove up to the drive-thru window the other day. Man-o-man I hate the looks of that car. Up close like that and it frightened me. A week ago or so, the same client with his all black Challenger R/T drove up to the drive-thru and I was like
  20. Both of these cars were owned by my dad. I so wanted a Eurosport with the 2.8liter V6 in 1986 when we went together looking to replace the 1979 Impala that just died on us. He put his money down on one. My mother went with him to finalize the papers. My mom convinced him that a base $14 000 CDN 2.5liter Iron Duke, AM radio only Celebrity is a better buy than a fully equipped $18 000 Eurosport. At the end of the day, I miss that grey Iron Duke Celebrity. Had lots of fun in that car. I bought the 1994 4 door Pontiac Grand GT 3.1liter V6 with my dad when, as punishment, as I totaled his 1986 Celebrity. I even totaled my own 1989 Pontiac Firebird before the Celebrity a few months before. I went (and he) without a car that summer. Summer of '94. I had lots of fun that summer regardless. I rented many cars that summer. I was 21 with a credit card... As did my dad. He went to Boston several week-ends that summer. I invited many biatches in my home that summer. No need for hotels...but the money saved went to car rentals... Plus...thanks to my good buddies and my cousins. I was surrounded with froends with cars that year. Corrados, Integras. Golfs. To this day, I still love that boy racer styling of that Grand Am GT.
  21. There is no heart-ache after this loss. Like in past losses since about a decade plus... It stings. Its disappointing, but there is no bitterness. Im pissed. Only at the 1st half, especially in the 1st quarter. Im happy. Im sad. Im giddy. Im deflated. There is no Jessica Simpson to blame it on, there are however shyty phoquing penalties to whine about. But what a comeback. But what a phoqing competitor Aaron is. He may be my favorite after Prescot (and Romo) What a catch. (3 phoquing seconds left!!!) Good game. See ya next year! Oh...Ill be watching the Super Bowl, nothing will change that.
  22. I think this ideology comes from a time when people actually saved up their money and actually bought their cars cash. If they were missing a few bucks here and there (wink wink) they would get the car that much less off sticker... Buyer: "Car is 5000. I got 4000, that is all I got. Take it or leave it." Dealer: "Give me 4500 and the car is yours" Buyer: "Ill invade my kids piggy bank, Im sure Ill only find 200...so 4200. Dealer: "Deal!" When financing a car started becoming more popular and back then, it wasn't easy to get a loan, I guess the more money you had, the more chances the dealer did not want to let go of you, so the buyer had an upper hand, but today, lending people money is the norm... Lending people money is the ONLY way people buy cars today... I guess, the opposite is true today, the more you are willing to put down, the less the dealer is willing to cut you a deal...LOL!!! I mean, if you wanna buy a car, you cant cry poverty if you are buying it cash...say you really really wanna buy THIS car with no money down, he might feel sorry for you... But then again....leases is what you will put you under...ask you how much per month you can afford and the sticker price at that point in time is irrelevant...or force you on a smaller less expensive car. You want an Impala for Cruize prices... If a lease wont get you into an Impala, then a Malibu lease definitely will!!! Without haggling sticker prices on either car as the focus is how much per month can the buyer afford...
