Although I love cars of the 1950s and the fin itself, I feel its a styling element that really should stay in that time era. It was a different time then. Flight and the jet age were still in its infancy...even though flight was 50 years old and the rocket age was upon us then, flight still seemed like it was a new thing....partly because commercial flights and intercontinental flights were still a new thing... Flying was still romantic... Then there is the whole teenager revolution thing where teens cruise in cars to drive-In theatres and roller skating waitresses serve us hamburgers to our cars listening to Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly! I did say cruise....not text and use the GPS to tell us how to get there... We are very far away from that world. I dont think fins it they came back will have that same effect and feeling so it best stay in the past so we dont ruin that nostalgia!

I remember Cragar SS mags everywhere from 1974/1975/1976 Pontiac Trans Ams to 1971-1974 Plymouth Satellite/Roadrunners to 1968-1969 Chevrolet Camaros/Pontiac Firebirds to Chevy Vans And they were all jacked up like in those pics! And depending what you want your project car to be, its all good. If I was doing a tuner Civic, then that Civic above is where Id wanna be.. If I was doing a 1950s or 1960s American Cruiser, then a slight rake but with ample ground clearance in the front like Balthy's example is where Id be. A resto-mod pro touring 1970 Olds 442 would be level and low to the ground (not too low, but in today's standards for perfect handling and braking low) But, Id also love to do a 1970s themed muscle car and it be jacked in the back, baby!!!!
