  1. Bob Lutz has business acumen... Sure, the Volt is a success....so is the Model S. However, all Australian imports were duds. Pontiac GTO, Pontiac G8, Chevrolet SS... The Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Sky was also a dud... Business acumen....sure...past business acumen....Maximum Bob stayed in the past... Elon Musk defines the present and the future. Starting with PayPal. Ending with battery production. In the middle is marketing an electric vehicle to the masses and making it cool to own one, in the process creating a fine damned electric automobile in the Model S. The irony....the Model S' competitor in the Fisker Karma went bust. Maximum Bob took the Fisker Karma body shell and added the only thing he knows best....a V8 under the hood instead of batteries. That works for me...but many others see that as an ancient technique... Elon has it...electricity is a far more volatile form of power than black gold!!! Argue that all you want... Maximum Bob is a relic from the past. Elon is the next coming of Christ. No matter how you view that, whether for or against or bad or good....that is the reality of things.... Business acumen....Elon all by himself changed the world on how we do business, over the internet, all by himself shortened the trade routes and expanded them all at the same time....business acumen you say??? Yeah....I dont think Maximum Bob has anything over Elon...
  2. By all means, please do. Ill re-do mine a little later as well. But Ill do what you did in your first post. A motorcycle and a watch sounds intriguing...
  3. I thought it might have been fun to do this thread since yesterday, and a couple of days prior, the hot topic was about a G Wagen. So bump... Like the song thread. Ill be the pitbull and be relentless and adamant...some of you WILL respond to this thread...
  4. Mr. DFELT... Im guessing your parents are married for a looooong time. Your dad has learned the single most important set of words in a marriage... Yes dear. Im putting my money on your mom winning this.... No contest, therefore no popcorn is needed... (Im not there yet, Im still learning...popcorn is needed in my household. The battles dont go my way though. Im still trying to win the war but Im guessing Ill wave the white flag and surrender when Im old and gray...)
  5. Dear Dave, Its a step in the right direction. Good for you for tolerating...Pitbull. All his songs always contain a couple of spanish words, mainly numbers counting up, a couple of ooooooweeeeeess and that is it. But the beat is a killer beat. I have no idea what the chicas do in 2016, but the Montreal chicas circa 1992-1996 LOVED this kinda stuff and went crazy on the dance floor. If an alpha male wanted to mate in Montreal circa 1992-1996, he had no choice but to tolerate this kinda stuff, learn to dance and move his pelvis in ways Elvis would be jealous.... So that is why I like this music today. Dear Mr.DFELT Its AWESOME that you like Pitbull's version. I think when you were younger, the ladies were not a problem for you. I think you know what I know about the ladies and the dance floor...
  6. You like the brown material....because you are a brown man, my friend.
  7. Uh-Oh, Spaghettios! http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/car-technology/news/a29877/tesla-model-s-autopilot-fatal-crash-laptop-dvd/ If true, I have a good feeling that the grim reaper might strike his sickle thingy right through the heart of the autonomous driving movement. Or at least put it on ice for a couple of years....
  8. Better in what way? The G Wagen in military form is still a formidable off roader... A TRUE off roader where even a Land Rover and Jeep or Toyota Hilux or Land Cruiser 70 might have difficulties venturing... Yes I know...a 100 000 dollar G Wagen never sees this... Lifted Jeep Wranglers or Grand Cherokees in a city that cost 1\3 the price of the G Wagen dont see of roading either... Like a civilian Hummer H1 or the Hummer H2 before it.. Better in what way? Fit and finish? Who cares???!!! It is a MILITARY truck sold to the civilians that obviously 3000/year folk dont seem to care... In the same vein how NOBODY gave a shyte how the Hummer H1 was crap on the inside... And then GM did the Hummer H2 and THAT sold MORE than 3000/year and the interior was not that much better than the G Wagen... OK...the Hummer H2 had matching screws! I understand Balthy's point of view FULLY in which up dated better fit and finish G Wagen may mean 30 000/year rather than 3000/year...but these people are not sheep... THIS is what they truly want. Stallone and Schwarzenegger actually buy this to promote their tough guy Hollywood images...good for business when promoting the next Rocky, Expendables and Terminator movies. The Kardashians are not sheep. Just more money than brains. The oil sheik Saudis...they got more money than Allah. The rest....I think its safe to say that the other owners have other toys in their stables...the G Wagen is just another collection to their already ostentatious collection of stupendous and unnecessary purchases. A gluttony of consumption... Like this one...a garage door for a boat in a yacht... I bet you this dude also owns 3 G Wagens!!! 1 in Monaco, 1 in Dubai and 1 in Miami beach!!! Traded up from his Land Rover, H2 and Escalade!
  9. +1 to you too CCAP for helping out a brother and his threads! Since you took the liberty to tell us what else you would splurge on with the savings....Ill do the same! But the choices Ill be doing are in keeping with the spirit of the original choices. Black Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Red Dodge RAM SRT10 500ish horsepower V10 Viper engine that was a truck engine but alumimiumfied for the sportscar and put back into the truck!
  10. IM JUST GLAD SOMEBODY FINALLY ACKNOWLEDGED THE BLOODY THREAD!!! +1 on you CP for not ignoring the thread.
  11. Autonomous driving Bolts are seen in San Francisco in mid May. http://www.autoblog.com/2016/05/18/autonomous-chevy-bolt-ev-spy-photo/ http://www.forbes.com/sites/davidkiley5/2016/05/19/why-gms-autonomous-chevrolet-bolt-is-running-around-san-francisco/#69e2f59944b1 GM had acquired a tech company called Cruise Automation and this is what they do and they are testing their tech with the Bolt. GM cant be left behind you see, with all these Silicon Valley bastards that think that autonomous driving is the future. What you said Hyper in the last two posts are BANG ON!!! But these Silicon Valley a-holes dont share our opinions. PS: Does that make Elon Musk and do I think that Elon Musk is a Silicon Valley bastard and a-hole? I guess it does make him Silicon Valley bastard and a-hole and I guess I do think he is a Silicon Valley bastard and a-hole...
  12. Thanx Dave. For answering my inquiry. Manufacturing jobs NEED to return to North America. That much I do agree with. Honda or Toyota if not for GM or Ford. But it is a global economy. Save for Japan.... Where Toyotas were once built in Asia somewhere, GM through Daewoo has taken over and where GM once built home grown Pontiacs and Oldsmobiles now Honda and Toyota build their cars on our soil.... It kinda equals out... Remember...the Strong Arm of the GLOBAL American conglomerate has wiped out many local home grown foreign companies. Tit for tat... Ford of Europe...is still an American company. Many Euros think that Ford of Europe is indeed European. Many dont think so. Many Germans think that Opel is German....we think Opel is American...many Americans have no clue what an Opel is... Sound familiar?
  13. Well. I hope one thing does come out of this. That autonomous driving be put to rest!
  14. No worries Hyper. It was more of a general rant not directed towards you. Back to the topic at hand. crash #2.... After many many near misses since Tesla launched this shyte, this does NOT come as a surprise to me. Maybe this latest incident will quell the need for autonomous driving...
  15. Uh...I dont think the likes of these idiots care all that much for the Toyota badge, it being cheaper and all that. Its an image thing. 3 Pointed Star. One Hundred Thousand Dollar Car. It is an SUV, the hottest thing around. And...the Pope even has one! But then again he has a Jeep also. That is right....part of the SUV craze. But at least with the last two guys...these guys are the real deal: Stallone owned this Ahnold owned this
  16. Id re-work the A-Team van to one of these just to make it fair and still have money left over So...A-Team van for me in 4x4 trim.
  17. OK. This is simple. Which Black and Red ride would you rather have? M-B G-Wagon Hamman tuned edition. Or the A-Team Van 1983 GMC VANDURA
  18. Another bump just in case you MOFOS finally got to know the song and now actually have an opinion on it! Or maybe not! I know I STILL LOVE the song!
  19. Well.. after talking about Nazis in another thread The only way Id like to see a German "wagen" is this way! Whether it be a "G", "Panzerkammpf" or "Volks"
  20. Off topic. And it concerns American politics and Im Canadian, so I aint offended by this, but as a Canadian who had a dad fight in WW2 and as of Greek origin who Nazi Germany made a mess out of Greece....and the whole of Europe actually, and all kinds of genocides..... Referring and alluding to modern, democratic politicians as related to that short man with the mustache irks the hell out of me. (not to pin this solely on Hyper and the Hitlerary comment, but generally speaking as many do this, even Canadians do this with Steven Harper...some of us Canucks compared his party to the Nazis...) Hillary has lied. Many times. The Clintons have all kinds of fraud allegations connected to their name. Bill Clinton. Forgetting his intern relationship that he had no sexual relations, which is on him, his marriage and his commitment to Hillary and the knot they both tied that defines his relationship with his better half and God...because God was a witness to that bond in matrimony...at least that romp was consensual..therefore who a I to judge him? HOWEVER....how many other "non-sexual" relationships were of the free will of his victims? Not for me to judge, but there are stories out there...and often is the case, where there is smoke, there is fire. But...with all that going on with the Clintons, and as it turns out, Steven Harper, or Angela Merkel with the Brexit debacle...I serious doubt that all of them combined have come close to the evil that is Hitler! So Id like to say, in general.... Please, let us refrain with the Nazi comparisons...if it aint about ISIS or Hussein or Stalin or some other real evil entity...
  21. Could be Mr. DFELT. I dont follow the SUVs as I hate them so I dont know what is what with them.
  22. Wonder if GM might be too hungry...still waiting to see how the nearly 30k hatches are going to do. (keeping in mind most will be loaded LT or Premier trims) Being built in mexico, and with the Focus hatch still starting under 20k-should be interesting. While I love the car, 26-30 for a compact hatch? While I'm not thrilled about the chinese part of the Envision, if it comes out successful it will US built pretty quick. I think Buick needs to be careful here....be bang for buck....and be careful not to jump to caddy price wise.... If they feel they need to charge a little more, give folks a reason and something different, like a Grand Sport model or something..... This aint no different than the German built Buick Regal the first year the Regal was out...(in reference to the Chinese built Buick Envision) Tooling needs to be made in North American factories... And correct me if Im wrong...originally the Envision was not supposed to be sold in North America. I personally dont have a problem with a Chinese built Envision. Its all this "Toyota and Honda are more American than Ford/GM/Chrysler" bullshyte because they manufacture some cars here that has phoqued up the mentality and made us schizophrenic about this sorta thing.
  23. CCAP It was the Land Cruiser Series 70 that Toyota reproduced for Japan and Australia for 1 year. 30th anniversary. Updated with modern engines and I dont remember what else...
  24. Help me understand your reference, which in turn will help me understand your post. Who is this Sheridan you speak of?
