That is true... about the Mustang being a global car...and so a 4 cylinder is a must...but then again...a Camaro also has a turbo 4...so that is a push... So...the deal with that is that the ecoboost 4 is a mid-level offering as opposed to GM's turbo 4...less horsepower but just about an equal amount of torques...as a BASE engine for GM VS mid-level for Ford... Can you say Blackjack pays 2 to 1...

When you break it down that way...it becomes a very apparent that Ford's gamble on this ecoboost 4 pot as a mid-level engine is kinda like a field bet in craps...16 ways to win...but 20 ways to lose!!! You just got bitten by snake eyes!!! a 5.3 liter V8....or 327 as how I would like to call it...would make a FANTASTIC engine option for the Camaro...especially as a mid-level offering...

That Miura concept WAS indeed a gorgeous recreation of a gorgeous classic... although I agree with Lambo's decision NOT to produce this concept...because Lamborghini after the Countach...which was the Miura's successor, was never about fluid shapes and elegant styling...but in your face, violent lines and arrogance...so when this concept came out in the mid 2000s or so...it definitely does not fit in with Lambo's shocking styling 40 years in the making... I have said it before about the GM situation that..time heals all wounds. And I believe it with this as well. Well, ford has airbag issues as well, I believe. I think I have a current outstanding recall for an air bag. It just isn't one of the takata ones. With those other problems was their proof that said employees KNEW about the problem while continuing to use the part in the cars? Or was it just a big fck up that was discovered later? Honestly, I do not know that answer. But that is my gripe. They knew and possibly still have a job there. Yeah...Ford has an airbag recall....My Fusion has it too.. Is yours about some sort of module being defective and in case of a crash...the airbag might not deploy? Maybe they are working at GM still... This is why I said...instead of "boycotting" GM, why dont we actually fight to get these guys FIRED from GM...and put on trial? Not only GM employees ...Delco employess too...because I remember even some engineers at Delco KNEW that the part would fail...told their bosses, but their bosses did nothing also...because contract is too big to deny...everybody it seems was thinking in terms of money... Yeah...I could see the advantages as the way you put them in place. - a platform that would be paid off even faster with government fleet sales. Helping to fund more bespoke Cadillac architecture... - engines and transmissions even suspensions shared with a coupe (Camaro) that would also help amortize said hardware. (irony in this case as it seems that a coupe would take the lion's share of sales in this case) - and of course the world wide appeal of an affordable Alpha based Chevy/Holden. I dont know about the Aussies because their market seems to mirror ours circa 1980/1990 as of today...but then again...Cadillac wants to go world wide...and even in the Middle East...especially in the Middle East...Im guessing Chevy Lumina SS cars that evolved into Caprice SS and Commodore SS...a Cadillac ATS or Cadillac CTS would be a bigger hit than a Chevy equivalent...because of badge snob appeal...and even if Chevy somehow has more brand appeal than Cadillac, even in that region...I would think that Cadillac would want that peace of pie...just to introduce brand appeal to that market...you know...CT8 sales success might rely on that region... And by all means...I didnt want to sound like the Impala name is messed up...I wanted simply to say that the name has been thinned out. But I guess you are right...even Millennial youngsters do know about full sized muscle Impala SS'es of the 1960s.

This is where Im conflicted... The Impala name... Gone are the days when a RWD Impala meant muscle...and its been a very long time... The 1994-1996 Impala SS does not count...most people recognize the Impala name as a family hauler be it as a RWD boxy car of the 1980s or FWD cars that replaced a Lumina....most people dont even remember the Lumina...but they equate the Lumina to an Impala... Going back to the 1980s...even the Impala name is confused with Caprice as many people equate that body style to solely a Caprice and as cop cars...and THAT is why the 1994-1996 Impala SS does not count...as many people equate THAT body style as a cop car as well... What Im trying to say is that...I dont think a RWD Impala SS in 2016 or beyond will have any effect to entice people to buy these cars or even show up at a Chevy dealership to look at them and them drive off in a brand new Malibu, Cruze or Equinox... It seems like the Super Epsilon Impala is a mild hit...but like you said...the numbers are not that high as people have downsized in cars...but do buy SUVs for family haulin' needs... The Super Epsilon Impala has rendered the Buick Lacrosse obsolete... So...that leaves another problem....the Cadillac XTS is going away...GM does need to fiil in that hole...Buick SHOULD get the next XTS...make that into the next Park Avenue? B ut is there enough room to continue to offer two plebian Super Epsilon cars? Either the Impala should continue on or the Lacrosse...but not both... However...should the Lacrosse continue on...I dont think a RWD Impala based on Camaro hardware and software which is based on Cadillac ATS hardware will not make a big splash either...and we saw it in the Chevy SS... Many say its not the name of a car that projects sales of a model....Ill agree to that to a certain degree...Had they called the Chevy SS an Impala SS...I dont think that would have generated much sales either... And its not because the Chevy SS had the LS3 under the hood either...415 HP and 415 ft.lbs of torque is still a healthy amount of power to market to people... What I am trying to say is that...the Chevy SS failed in the market place in the US...its because the average Joe does not want a muscle car anymore to haul around his family...the Chrysler/Dodge cars sell the way they do...because of V6 under the hood...not V8... So...If a RWD Chevy Impala is in the cards...if the sole engine offered is a V8 so the car would be called Impala SS...it will generate just as many sales as the hevy SS generated... And THAT is why Im conflicted...because I have come to realize...that muscle cars...for the average Joe is a thing of the past... Does my speech make ANY sense? I seem to go around in circles...but yet...it makes sense to me...does it makes sense to you? Drew there are adults that should not have this much power. Anyone seen the Prince in Beverly Hills in the Ferrari this week? Also the videos we have seen on YouTube of the crashing Z06 are proof that many people are over their limits. Ive admitted to this before at cheersandgears... Ive wrapped a 1989 2.8 liter V6 Pontiac Firebird and all of its 140 HP or so around a traffic light pole... Thankfully...I dont drive like an adolescent idiot anymore.

Its a party. A week long party. Its not only a race. Its the start of the summer season for us. And when the Habs make it far into the play offs...oh what a wonderful time it is on and in the streets of Montreal.

Im quoting Wings....but this is a continuation of the discussion above this latest post that Wings made...so yeah... I forgot to mention... It helps that Montreal hosts the Formula 1 race year after year after year... It has ALWAYS been popular with the world visiting Montreal...and the local yokels...for the race...and it was always a stepping stone...albeit F1 was ALWAYS the more popular racing circuit....for Indy Car and the Ferrari Challenge that we used to get and the Nascar Sprint Series...now that these last races are no longer and the only one still standing IS the F1...well...like I said...it was ALWAYS a BIG Deal....but now...its an even BIGGER deal. The week before F1...Down Town Montreal would swell up with the exotic car crowd and we would hoon over Ferraris and Lambos...and now and again...classic American Muscle would sneak some attention...only to have one street closed one day for exotics and another for classic American Iron. Then soon enough...the tunerz would try to steal some attention...and what we have the last 5 years or so...is the whole week, 2 streets of Down Town Montreal would be closed off the ENTIRE week for EVERYBODY to display their rides...and that includes ALL types of rides...even motorcycles...speed bikes and Harleys/Choppers...exotics, Italian roadsters, tunerz, American Muscle and Hot Rods, motorcycles... Plus...in the winter time...Quebecois love to snow mobile...THAT also helps the car crazy world...as we tend to enjoy all kinds of motor madness...

Orange Julep is alive and well...and its still going on strong... But there are other meets as well all across the Montreal Urban area. Muscle cars have not faded away, but its more or less the classics that get the attention...not as if the new Mustangs/Camaros/Challengers dotn get any love...its the tuner cars that have really taken off...since the early 1990s and only getting stronger...and only because there are MORE tunerz available for purchase than are just 3 pony cars...and lets us NOT forget...it was only 1 pony car for a good 6-8 years...in the mid 2000s...

Working yourself up to Jay Leno levels....I think that is awesome!!! It's a bad thing, a very bad thing. That is if you don't have Jay Leno money (like me). I think I shall succumb to crippling dept by the seventh vehicle. That means that you might have to land yourself a late night TV show... A nice Greek boy like yourself could manage that... George Strombolopoulos...I could also say Tina Fey... He did it on Canadian TV... and moved on up to being a host of Hockey Night in Canada And if that fails...become a GM of a Major League Sports Team...like Alex Anthopoulos of the Toronto Blue Jays...Greek boy from Montreal I might add...
