  1. I think I'm about where @balthazar is talking about, small town of 10k people, surrounded by fields, 30 minutes to downtown Stl. Louis(west) or 20-30 minutes to other shopping areas(more south than west). I think it's about perfect. Access to city-stuff but small town-ness.
  2. They do also offer a pretty good overall package for those who just want space, fuel economy, and a solid overall vehicle. There's absolutely nothing special about them(save for maybe the TRD) but there's also nothing glaringly wrong with them.
  3. Nah, those can't replace the awesome vertical headlights. They had so much more presence.
  4. I don't know what this is but it's really pretty. I wish it was French and not British as I couldn't let an Aston go... I looked it up and they are a very interesting blend of retro styling and modern technology.
  5. I do like the lower fascia a lot more on the refreshed one.
  6. That was my initial thought, as well. The thing is, it's not sucky for Tesla's ACTUAL customers. It's sucky for the cheap-asses(myself included) who won't buy new.
  7. I would surely hope they had their law team go through this before taking those options away because that's REALLY crappy.
  8. The outgoing grille looks much better, IMO. It just flows so much better. Thanks for pulling both pictures!
  9. There are scenarios in which it would probably work very well, that being one of them, but I don't see enough of that scenario being worth it.
  10. It seems like a great idea but it just doesn't seem like it is worth whatever it will cost or the additional cost to insure something like that. It would be nice and all to be able to leave your car parked all day and your range goes up but its suuuuuch a negligible amount I can't imagine it would ever pay for itself.
  11. "Simple enough, right? Well, not really. Instead of converting pound-feet to Newton-meters and calling it a day, Cadillac decided to throw another wrench into the equation: It rounds the conversion to the nearest 50. This means the 600 on the back of the new Escalade is a lie, as the SUV's V-8 and diesel six-cylinder engines produce 624 Nm of torque or 460 lb-ft. The number 624, however, doesn't look quite as nice 600—at least to Cadillac. (Blame overseas markets like China, where the figure makes more sense.) The decision was made not to use engine displacement so that the badges could also be applied to future electric vehicles; still, turbocharged models have a T after the number, so there is some indication of what lies under the hood."
  12. Yeah, it's typically for the image. I don't see ANYBODY buying a new full-size SUV and taking it anywhere where you need the extra articulation of a solid axle. Now taking one that's 10+ years old and off-roading it, I could see that. Don't forget about this shyte storm, as well! Escalade 600!
  13. Never..? Unless you're an off-road nut.
  14. It could use more torque, because truck, but isn't 281 still more than the other N/A V6's? Tacoma 3.5: 265tq Gladiator 3.6: 260tq GM 3.6: 275tq As it turns out, yes. Yes, it is more than the others in its field. The only competitor that ousts it is the 2.3 with 310tq but much less horsepower at 270.
  15. People already didn't give a shyte about the solid rear axle, it sold extremely well. Wasn't it something like 3 sold for every 1 Navigator and that's has IRS for awhile, prior to the newest generation. Correct, it doesn't bring down the franchise. I just think that's the biggest glaring mistake. Everything has been upgraded ten fold. I just don't like the horizontal headlights and I believe it should still have large, vertical headlights.
  16. Because, in my opinion, they fckd up one thing that distinguished an Escalade and something that gave it that powerful look. Everybody knew what Escalade lights looked like. This goes exactly to your point of, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."
  17. The one that's not in a truck? Truck engines are always tuned down and designed more for hard work and reliability.
  18. Obviously they wanted to do away with them, because it doesn't have them...
  19. Which is which? Okay, it’s easy because emblems..
  20. It can be familial and still retain the vertical headlamps.
  21. I'm not a fan of the trim but the part that is terrible is the black piece between the trim and door. The "fake" window..?
  22. This isn't distinguished at all. It used to be.
  23. Exactly and it's just been stretched around a larger frame, literally. The design language isn't bad, they just didn't execute it here like they did with the CT4/5/XT4/5. This really needed the vertical headlights and I cannot emphasize that enough.
  24. This sucks. The front just looks about as bland as anything. i was really hoping for some tweaks from the rendering we saw. I didn't expect to actually GET the rendering. This needs the large, vertical headlights that really distinguish this. I don't hate the Cadillac design language but I just think it needs "more" here.
  25. Today was one of those days where I filled up at half a tank because I may get stuck in snow/sleet/ice traffic on my way home and HOPEFULLY that doesn't happen but if it were to, I can sit for a day idling. Also, gas in Missouri is almost $0.30 cheaper than where I'm at in Illinois.
