  1. While so much of it is taken apart, you should dynomat everything. I've ridden in a vehicle where they dynomat-ed the wheel wells and it is amazing how much noise is coming from the tires and pavement. At that point, what's another $500-1000 to dynomat the inside of every panel and it would truly be whisper quite inside and out. I'm looking into putting a dynomat on the insides of my wheel wells because that would be great. Do you have everything taken out already and you're just waiting to start purchasing things or is there still plenty of disassembly to go? Project pictures??
  2. That's a really nice nip and tuck of the E Class. I think it just looks a little "tighter" and I like it. There's been talk of a new rotary for decades at this point... I'll only believe it when there's one at an autoshow.
  3. 72k isn't worth it, IMHO. That's just absurd.. What the price difference for 50% of that battery pack for 400 miles of range? Or 500 miles of range?
  4. There are plenty of swaps that are done just because they can and want to. Stuffing a Ferrari 458 engine in a BRZ is one that comes to mind. They can into all sorts of issues but just wanted to because they had the skill and money. Anybody doing real swaps like that are just doing it because they want to, more than anything else. Like @balthazar said, in the end, it's just because they want to.
  5. Personally, I doubt it will ever go down but if it just stays the same over the course of 5 years or so and accounting for inflation, it will be "like" it goes down. We have no clue how low it will or won't be as a Ford or Lincoln. I think it is assumed it will be a Lincoln, from what I've read. That is just speculation though as Ford and Rivian haven't released anything about it yet.
  6. Very nice. While 60k+ is well out of my price range, it isn't all THAT terrible considering what you're getting and the performance and packaging these offer. We will see how things pan out though. Maybe it turns into a huge flop, maybe they get 200k sales a year and sustain that. We shall see.
  7. Yep, I have really high hopes for the R1T. Hopefully my hopes aren't becoming too high and then I'll be disappointed but I think their whole business plan and partnership(s) have me thinking they will be very successful.
  8. It's not terrible but if gives off a gimmicky vibe to me. I'd go with a Rivian well before one of these, and they're made and owned in the US and not partially Chinese owned.
  9. I'm not 100% sure but I believe we have the Commercial Service as we have an old building that's zones both commercial and residential and we have a 3-phase service. I'll have to check out our bill as we've only been in it for a just over a month. But, here are my rates.
  10. Awesome! SYNC3 is worlds better, isn't it???
  11. I'm on a bus every work day, 30 miles each way for work. I agree it would be absolutely wonderful if they were whisper quiet but I've never had an issue with the smell. I've never noticed them smelling bad or smelling of anything.
  12. It's interesting to see them already into so many different things yet they are able to use their same basic skateboard-style platform for everything. This is a very promising business strategy.
  13. Some Rivian news: https://www.motortrend.com/news/rivian-readies-production-electric-trucks-suvs-ford-lincoln-amazon/
  14. Only because it was a pretty big marketing tool they used to sell their vehicles. "Buy our vehicle and never pay for fuel!"
  15. Oh I was just joking about going in in a Cardinals' uniform. I would expect him to go in in a Rockies uniform. That was when he had his best years. He had a pretty good send off here in STL being able to play in a World Series and making another playoff run the following year... he only had one playoff series prior to STL and he got 5 playoff series in STL. in 1.25 seasons. It's a shame what the Expos organization turned into. I have very little personal history of them being in Montreal because of my age but before they moved nobody went there and they were always losing. It seems like they were once a great organization and there had to have been a change in ownership or management that turned them south(both literally and metaphorically).
  16. I remember watching this game live and his first at-bat in a Cardinals' uniform. He was appreciated more in the 1.5 years here than he ever got in MTL or COL. Check out 2hr, 12 min and 30 seconds in. Welcome to STL big boy!
  17. He should go in with the birds on the bat. I'm very glad to have seen him here and glad he got to make a World Series appearance with us. Also, I have NO CLUE how somebody couldn't vote for Jeter to be voted in. It should have been a 100% vote, hands-down.
  18. I thought S and X were always free and the 3 was "come and go" with offering it.
  19. I think his point is an average of 10 minutes including turning in(sometimes in a line), the fueling process, and pulling out(also sometimes waiting for traffic). Just the fueling is only about 1-3 minutes depending on tank size. I believe I timed a 10 gallon fill-up once because @dfelt and I were talking about it and it was about 1:20 for ~10 gallons. It's somewhere on this site...haha Oh yeah, when range is increased and more and more homes get chargers, the only time you'd need to publicly charge is when taking longer trips. The only people I could see charging over their lunch break is people with a Volt(or similarly short-range EVs) who have to drive ~40 miles to work and can make it home with a top-off over lunch.. Otherwise it seems like a completely unnecessary process over lunch. I would never do that, especially because it would cost me more than charging at my house.
  20. Isn't the idea of an EV to charge at home, for even less cost? It seems way more inconvenient to try and charge over a lunch period than to just charge at home. Tesla Superchargers? Free.
  21. Not with a warranty, they have not. Requiring a warranty over 50-60,000 miles is a game changer for engineers. I agree but it's funny to think somebody who can afford $80,000-$100,000+ for a vehicle would scare at a ~$2.00 per gallon raise.
  22. It doesn't do a whole lot for me. It gives off the gimmicky vibe of just being different to be different. I don't hate it though.
  23. I agree. I think it is great and it should also help get buyers to pony up more cash for these higher trims.
  24. Oh dang, unfortunately that instantly becomes unattractive. The efficiency of the vehicle makes $166/month w/ $2200 down very attractive but more than doubling the monthly payment makes it not so pretty. Oh, and another $400 down...
  25. Or a "not-a-giant-owner" package for anybody under @dfelt's height. ??
