Chevrolet News:Rumorpile: Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 To Go Further Off-Road
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
FWIW, the ZR2 is 2-3 inches wider than the 2018 Wrangler according to Google.- 10 replies

8 years seems appropriate. Car cycles shouldn't be shorter than that anyway, imo. I'd assume it would get a battery upgrade and a face lift in the middle anyway.
-
Yeah it's worth it in that comparison.
-
That's the kind of depreciation that stings when you look at it 12 years down the road.
-
Yeah it's those damn Germans.. Even the GTI was on the list for small cars.
-
Those are a little more understandable, while still nuts. AMGs are hand built engines and it's pretty widely known that AMGs are expensive to own outside of their warranty. The 718 is supposed to be the "bargain" Porsche starting at "only" $55,300 whereas those AMGs are well over $100,000(GLS @ 125k and S63 @ 147k) to start.

It's because it spells out S 3 X Y. It was supposed to be S E X Y but Mercedes owns the rights to the "E". Good to know. I knew there were rumors of a truck so I didn't know. I never heard of a small CUV until now. That would be a pretty attractive offering to the public, another CUV.

2016 Focus Titanium Bought: 12,811 miles Currently: 27,300 miles Difference: 14,489(we'll go with 14,500) $16,100 - $12,940 = $3160 depreciation $0.217 per mile. FWIW, the MSRP was like $24,500. That's why I buy used..
-
What's the Y supposed to be? Is this their pickup?
-
Almsot $2400 a year to maintain a 718 Cayman.. That's just insane.

The ZR2 is already a direct competitor to the TRD Pro. Many would say it's a better offering than the Pro already. Those wheels look so damn good. I'd want those on any mid-size truck I had.- 10 replies

I couldn't imagine paying those prices yearly to just maintain my vehicles(highest list). I could only see those making practical sense if I expected to go through a set of tires every year but if not, those are outrageous numbers.
-
The vehicles themselves have received fantastic updates both inside and under the hoods but they pulled a Toyota and made drastic styling changes just to make styling changes, I feel. i don't feel like they added "character" as much as just making absurd lines and cuts that don't mesh with..anything..
-
Yeah, I agree. But if we're no longer their largest market for the car, it's understandable. If they're pumping them out for the Asian market it makes more sense to make it there and import it here.

I didn't click the link but I have a feeling that's the Tacoma being pulled back by the FJ? I'm no off-road specialist but I'm not sure why he was still being pulled AND I read that he shouldn't have had his rear end locked at that point.

I don't know what's going on over at Chevy but everything they've released looks worse than what they have out right now. The Malibu and Cruze less so but the Silverado and Camaro look so much worse. What the hell, Chevy?!? I'm almost always in favor of the newest versions of things but these Chevys aren't doing it for me.

Chevrolet News:2019 Chevrolet Cruze, Malibu, and Spark Get New Faces
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
Hmmm interesting... I didn't realize that about the Trax. I never really looked at any of these super tiny CUVs other than a glace, really. I just thought they were all about the same. Agreed with the Tahoe/Suburban/Expedition. I don't think I'd really care and it is easily close enough to require a test drive comparison. The Bolt/3 I can't argue with you. I just don't like the Bolt's C-Max style body that isn't car nor CUV and is stuck in purgatory. But it being a Chevy over a Tesla really would have a MUCH better dealership/company backing. Hahaha How'd I forget the Camaro on the day the 2019 is shown?!?! Yeah the 2019 looks much worse than the 2016-2018 so that'd be an easy Mustang for me. The current gens are much close and are again a tossup like the Tahoe/Expedition. You can't go wrong with either. -

I'm actually going to go through their lineup and see what I'd buy over their stuff without thinking too much... Spark - What is a super sub compact? If I'm driving one of these there is no choice to buy anything else... Sonic - Sonic Cruze - Golf/Mazda 3 Malibu - Accord Impala - Avalon Trax - CX-3 Equinox - CX-5 Traverse - Edge/JGC Tahoe - This would be a good comparison to drive back to back with the Expedition. I really don't know which I'd prefer in this class of 2. Suburban - Same as above. Volt - Volt Bolt - Model 3..? Corvette - At it's entry price it seems like a bargain and I'd take it but as a loaded up 100k Z06 I think I'd prefer something else like an F-Type Coupe, 911, or entry AMG GT. But I guess when I stop and think of a 60k base Vette I'd prefer a ZL1 or whatever comparable Shelby is out there too. -

My GM purchase would definitely be a truck. Nothing else really does it for me over the competition. I enjoy Caddys a lot but I don't think I'd buy one over a Mercedes if I were actually spending my own cash. -
The one I saw was on a Facebook group and it was the SS, not the above pictured one. I'll try and save it and post it here. This is what I was talking about, @Drew Dowdell

I do know that, personally, I'd rather the 2.0T than the V6. I just think it would be a little more fun modifying the small turbo motor.

Hard to believe there is that much demand for this trim with this engine but I guess if they can just drop the 2.0T in the v6 1LE and charge more for something they already have the engineering done for, why not?
