  1. That's like saying you're completely turned off by the whole GM ignition switch situation which is way worse of a recall. I don't mind recalls. Every company has them and they're taking care of a problem. Interesting article in 2016 when we were in peak recall times. http://wardsauto.com/industry/best-and-worst-automaker-recall-rates
  2. Yup, same here. It wasn't long ago that it was in the 2.50's for awhile.
  3. What quality/engineering issues is the new Tacoma having?
  4. I've always just bought what I wanted because the're not driving or paying for it anyway...
  5. I think all of us would prefer those over that Maybach. Hell, they might even have more prestige as everybody loves clean classics!
  6. Hahahaha same here! The only real reason I could see somebody wanting it is because of its brand, Mercedes-Maybach. Maybach holds some serious luxury equity so the uber rich can say, "I have the newest Maybach available."
  7. I think I saw 2.69 here today. For whatever that's worth, lol.
  8. Buick also doesn't offer any hybrids in 2018 so I'm not exactly sure what their end goal is.
  9. And few of the base ES's are ever built so we can just assume both add a few options and are still roughly 10k apart. How much smaller is the Regal? It looks waaaay better as well. It sucks but that's how all companies are packaging things now. Especially considering the current LaX is probably their oldest vehicle and possibly on its way out.. that's just how it goes..
  10. Sounds like somebody just shouldn't buy the Buick then..lol Also, the LaCross starts $10,000 less than the ES. It seems like the only one that truly out-options/classes it is the Avalon as it is near luxury like the Buick but also comes with more standard. At a $10,000 premium it is expected the ES will have more and the Buick does everything inside MUCH better than a Corolla with more power, leather, quietness, smoothness... I have to believe there are options that are standard on the LaX and not the Corolla. I just don't have the time to scan through both option sheets.
  11. So if i bought a Corolla for $18,600 it has auto cruise and blind spot monitoring? Impressive. Buying a Buick you're getting other things instead of those features for the money. You should be getting a quieter, smoother, leather seats, and more powerful engine'd vehicle. Personally, that sounds like a good deal.
  12. Automatic cruise control is not a safety feature... Not in my eyes it isn't. Blind spot is only a safety feature because vehicles are built with such terrible blind spots now that they need to give the drivers something. I turn my head every time I change lanes and it still isn't the easiest to actually look at the blind spot. Personally, blind spot monitoring isn't something I would ever pay for unless it was stuck in a package that I wanted other things. My little angled corner mirror within my side mirror is plenty good for me.
  13. "When it hits showrooms in late summer, the 2019 Fusion will be offered in 36 available configurations. That's down from nearly 2,000 for the 2018 model year and a number that once reached an astonishing 35,000 possible configurations. Likewise, the EcoSport debuted for 2018 in the United States with 46 configuration options." I have to believe this is to cut costs. They don't want to offer their customers less options but there's no choice when a vehicle that sells over 200,000 units a year is on the cutting block(and I believe it is because they aren't making enough or anything on it).
  14. They've tried this and it costs the manufacturer a lot more making so many more choices/options available a la cart. Look what Ford just did on the Fusion. They had literally thousands of different packaging options and on the 2019 Fusion they're trimming that down to 36, which is more like the Japanese brands. They have their trim levels and only a few choices within them.
  15. Oh yeah, and 7spd manual vs 8spd auto! Unless you're looking for the absolute quickest of the two, the stick will be much more enjoyable to drive. Especially because you have your auto CTS-V yet.
  16. I'm a huge fan of used vehicles.. The previous owner will be saving you 22k+tax on 22k. 10k miles.. I'd take the used one!
  17. You're saying they're louder engines, they're quieter than what you currently drive. I don't think you'll ever own an EV because you'll keep saying the wife doesn't like something about it.
  18. Biased is what it is. You don't want to like something so you're making up a reason to not like it. Just say you don't like it instead of making things up that are factually provably wrong.
  19. Noise levels are significantly quieter at every moment in the newer Escalade. 100k quieter? Doubtful, but those numbers are definitely noticeable. And that's what you pay for with a real luxury vehicle, the details. I don't know if you noticed but the ATS is quieter than the older Escalade as well. Yes, the turbo 4 version. As speed rises the turbo 4 car is quieter than the n/a 3.6 as well. Just say'n.
  20. You sure can get quieter than a ~10 year old Escalade.. a much more modern luxury vehicle even with a turbo 4. Auto db.com
  21. I bet your wife hates everything you own then.. Those are all way louder than a little turbo 4 set in a luxury car.
  22. I couldn't agree more. They want to be the best but then throw in the same driveline as a Chevy? Also, FWIW, Mercedes base engine in the GLE is a n/a v6 as well.. I can't see that staying around much longer. And, Audi and Volvo are the only large luxury CUVs that start with a turbo 4's. How did they "wear on you" in those instances?
  23. What is your experience level of driving a turbo 4 for you to say they wear on you and to say they're not quiet?
