You sure can get quieter than a ~10 year old Escalade.. a much more modern luxury vehicle even with a turbo 4. Auto db.com -

I bet your wife hates everything you own then.. Those are all way louder than a little turbo 4 set in a luxury car. -

I couldn't agree more. They want to be the best but then throw in the same driveline as a Chevy? Also, FWIW, Mercedes base engine in the GLE is a n/a v6 as well.. I can't see that staying around much longer. And, Audi and Volvo are the only large luxury CUVs that start with a turbo 4's. How did they "wear on you" in those instances? -

What is your experience level of driving a turbo 4 for you to say they wear on you and to say they're not quiet? -
So you haven't even driven anything on their car line and you're discrediting them based on a few truck tires? Have you used any that weren't OE or all season? Would you discredit all of Chevy because the Cavalier was junk? That Maybach SUV looks atrocious from the back.

The Integrity is sold at Walmart for well under $100/tire...

Yup! I am surprised it isn't the 9spd unit though. -
Soft isn't always bad and just getting long life doesn't make it a good tires unless that's all you're really looking for though.

I just want that V Series in the background... No, the 10 was for RWD/AWD not FWD/AWD. -
Goodyear isn't sucky, they just make a few sucky tires that they sell at the cheap-o stores like Walmart(Like John Deere selling at Home Depot/Lowes). they still make very high end stuff to compete with Michelin, Bridgestone, and Continental. People just tend to talk about their bad experiences more than their good ones. Also, fwiw, saying a whole brand is good based on a couple models is like saying all of Ford is great because they make the GT. I've heard plenty of complaints about OE Michelins, Cotinentals, Pirelli, and Bridestones as well... Some people just don't like OE tires and will complain no matter what.

I'd buy a TDI Golf. Had a mk7 one been around when I was car shopping, I'd be in one of them instead of my Focus.

I know Continental at least has some factories here. I'd hope Michelin does as well.

Then they aren't the golden standard of racing if they only have their toes in one league of racing when there are hundreds out there. Formula 1 is the biggest money pit and, I could be wrong, I believe their ratings have been declining for the past decade as the sport blows to watch. I love the technology and the sheer speed of those cars but it is the least entertaining form of automobile racing out there. Want to know the finishing order of every race? Just watch the qualifying session. Heck, just watch Q3 and watch laps 1-3 and that's all the entertainment the sport offers. ..so.. like a regular truck that is completely different than the pictured Sprinter? lol- 58 replies

It's probably something you wouldn't care about in this car but fuel economy could drop a tad spinning a heavier tire with more tire touching the ground. For something like this, I doubt you're looking to eek out the best fuel economy possible anyway.

Correct, it's a ratio of the width.
