I've always had a hate boner for it as well.. Something about it just doesn't look near as good as any of its competitors and comes off as bland and boring with one lone engine choice, at least the first and a half gen. Now it has a turbo 4 as a base, right?

No, it works AMAZINGLY! I'd VERY highly recommend doing it to your windshield. In light rain I don't use my wipers and some times in the morning after it rains I like to see at what speed does all of the rain come off my of windshield.. around 40-45 if you're wondering lol. Once a week?!?!? I only feel like I need to once a year.. and once I apply it I usually just buy the additive for my washer fluid and that works plenty well.

I haven't read through the whole thread yet but I believe they were created for a sporty and young persons car. this was supposed to be their "youth" brand with the quirky xB and xA that were supposedly very customize-able from the factory. I think it is more about the automatic adjusting to the amount of rain falling rather than initially turning them on that makes them nice. Rain slows down, they slow down, rain picks up for 45 seconds, they pick up for 45 seconds...etc. Personally, I could care less about them.

Yeah that's quite often as well.. Makes sense why you'd want the extra space.

Yeah, that's understandable, that's a pretty long drive to be in there. They look pretty roomy but I've never been in the back of one. How often are you driving them that long?

I've always wondered this.. How much savings is there really when you have turbos/heat exchanger/plumbing all added to the turbo 4? By chance, do you have any examples or engine weights with the turbo+components compared to their replaced V6?

I believe both Toyota and Honda have production cars out in California. I'm still a firm believer that eventually, when the process gets much more efficient and cheaper, that it will be the real way of the future. I think it's dimensional-ly because CAFE has to do with it's footprint and fuel economy. That's why the F150 is as wide as it can be without putting the marker lights on it like the HD/SDs have on the cab(and Raptor in the grille).

That's a 3-row SUV and is 5.5 inches longer. After looking them up... It seems to split the Explorer and Edge almost perfectly. Edge: 188.1in Acadia: 193.6in Explorer: 198.3

It surprises me they are getting rid of the Sonic and not the smaller Spark. I was looking at the Sonic RS before I bought my Focus and I just couldn't get over the size of the car. I'm all for smaller vehicles(I drive a Focus!) but it's just too small for me. They'd be perfect for a new driver though. I would definitely look at one if I was buying one for a high school kid.

I saw that as well. It's so close to being awesome but the cab and bed just look TOO different. It looks like 2 completely different generations(because they are) but there's no effort to blend them.

They also do some trick things these days with active grill shudders, super low air dams, tiny spoilers(look at the shapes of the tailgates) to get air off of the vehicle more smoothly.

I mean they kind of did.. They made a 2/3 heavy duty with a 5.0 Cummins.

It'd be nice but reduced drag of the current body styles make that a difficult thing to hope for..

I bet there is actually quite a bit of tuning that goes into it because the new 2.0T doesn't have the same exact outputs and outputs at a given rpm. I'm not doubting they will do a fine job, just saying it's a new combo that nobody has driven yet.

Lincoln News: Lincoln Planning to Add Suicide Doors To Continental

It would definitely be a Lincoln or Cadillac followed by the Asian brands. German engineers just to everything so different it is more difficult to do regular/simple stuff on our own.- 67 replies

I'd assume you're correct but those are just guesses at this point as we're talking transmissions now and nobody has driven this XT4 matched to the brand new engine.
