Funny thing about this is.... If they lowered it a couple more inches and called it a hatchback I would be in love. It would immediately compete(and probably beat) the GTI and ST.

BMW has had this shifter for about 10 years now. I think it debuted in 2008(on the 7 Series) and has been on everything else in their lineups ever since. Can you dislocate joints?

Smaller then an X1???? Good lord this has to be tiny. At 5'8" I can look over the top of an X1 already.

This line is confusing to me. -
That's freakin' awesome! One hell of a security system.

More Teslas are drag racing than I would have expected, that's for sure. Luckily, a 1/4 mile drag race is still only a 1/4 mile. And the % of drivers taking anything they own to a track is...? out of the hundred thousand mustangs and camaros sold this year how many do you think found a drag strip? Yeah, probably more than 1% but what about C63's and M4's? Id say only 1% of those make a track appearance as well.
-
I’d usually agree but there are an awful lot of Tesla drag racing videos out there.

Yeah, I hate the increased blind spots.. My Escape was pretty bad with that. Yeah, there was a window back there but I couldn't see crap looking out of the at the angle of the driver's seat.

Porsche News: 2018 Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman GTS Add More Power
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Porsche
I always find this odd.. Why can't they produce both transmissions that are capable of 317 lb-ft? I remember the RX-8 had a similar situation where the auto had much less power(and/or TQ) than the 6spd.- 7 replies

Volvo News: Polestar 1 is A 600 Horsepower Hybrid Coupe from Sweden
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Volvo
I noticed you only picked a part of that sentence to use.. If you used it all it would make more sense. "Polestar 1 bridges today’s technology with the future, offering the perfect drivetrain for a Grand Touring Coupé that's likely to be used over longer distances as well as shorter, faster, enjoyable journeys,”" I think this concept looks great. I'm also a huge fan of the hybrid powertrain. Sounds like it could be a pretty gnarly car while wearing a suit, unlike the above ZL1 which does it with cut off sleeves and tattoos sticking out. -
The CC is still a thing. It's still on their website.

Ram News: 2017 Ram 1500 EcoDiesels Are Hitting Dealers
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Ram
Seems like a fairly conservative tune as it seems to be a "canned" tune but a simple air filter and tube change and a cat-back exhaust had some pretty awesome gains. 37whp and 46wtq gains along with 2.66mpg increase. http://www.trucktrend.com/how-to/expert-advice/2014-2016-ram-1500-ecodiesel-power-and-mpg-upgrades/ -
Ram News: 2017 Ram 1500 EcoDiesels Are Hitting Dealers
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Ram
What kind of gains can be had with an aftermarket tune on these guys? With it being a turbo diesel I assume there are some pretty stupid gains. I bet a tuned Ram 1500 diesel is a pretty kick ass daily driver. -
I'd seriously consider a GLI, again. Especially if it grows a tad, like most every car does these days from generation to generation.

I think either IL or MO enacted an "E-DUI" recently that covers distracted driving from phones or whatnot. I actually really like the new setting on my iPhone that it senses when I'm in a car and it won't alert me of anything. I can turn it off or open it, then confirm I'm not driving, to use it if I have to or if I'm not the one driving though. Then all of my calls and texts can go through my car anyway. Okay, I guess I was wrong and it is Washington that has the E-DUI. I guess Illinois is considering it though.

Awesome! What do you have? After my accident and getting lucky I had a witness I was like "Damn, this could have easily been a he-said, she-said situation" had one guy not stopped and said he saw everything. I definitely bought it for my own insurance and at $100 it was cheap insurance. There are definitely cheaper(and way more pricey) out there.

I'd highly suggest a dash cam so you have proof. I didn't realize my time stamp was off until I loaded that video. I'd hate for something like that to bite me in the ass. You never know if anybody is willing to stop and tell the officer what happened. But absolutely, I don't see it THIS bad very often at all. I may sound like a cranky old man but it's tempting to send it to my local PD. I'm not sure if they could or even would do anything about it but when it's this blatantly obvious it pisses me off, big time.

Oh definitely! I don't mind ppl going through while it changes.. it happens. It's HOW LATE he was that pissed me off. After my accident I tend to pay a little more attention to the left and right traffic for this exact thing. Had that silver truck started driving when the light turned green, or myself, there would have almost guaranteed been an accident. I also drive a Focus.. I can't be too fast off the line. Hahaha
