Ferrari News: Marchionne Stokes Ferrari's Interest In An SUV
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Ferrari
^ I don't doubt that at all but I still don't like the idea of it. It'll probably be great and all of that as well. Just like plugging a V6 into the Ford GT. It might still be great but I don't like the idea of a V6, be it great or not, in a super car like that. Not quite the same comparison, but similar. -

I'm not too stoked about that news but everything sh!tty around Sergio shouldn't surprise me. -
Ram News: 2017 Ram 1500 EcoDiesels Are Hitting Dealers
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Ram
Wow 22 years?!? I do remember doing the math on it a long time ago but I think I was doing the savings over the 5.7 not the 3.6. At that time until it pays for itself you genuinely have to just want that engine. -

They'd have free gas for the ownership of the vehicle by not paying the premium for the 3.0 diesel. -
Their problem is the automation that they expected to be ready by now still is having issues. Once they have everything running properly I don't see how they would project incorrectly. As of now, the assembly line just isn't in motion..

He's trying to run the most automated production line and having issues getting all of the kinks worked out. lol they have employees who have worked for major auto companies. They aren't just winging it. The irony in this post...

I think the whole turbo 4-banger thing is overrated these days. It isn't average Joe and his friends turbo-ing one of their own cars with factory internals rated for stock power levels.. This is an OEM turbo setup. If they are smart(it is FCA ) they did their testing and retesting..and RETESTING on everything and it is 100% designed around the turbo boost levels and longevity should be a non-issue. Look at the Ecoboost F150's from 2011.. If there are any complaints about them it isn't engine failure, maybe sh!t components or whatnot but not the engine itself spining a baring or throwing a rod or some sh!t.

The downtown bus is like that.. sketchy. The bus I take 75% of the people on it are from smaller suburban town of about 10,000. It's rarely over packed, sometimes it is though but I don't mind standing as I sit ALL DAY at work(it's only like that on the way home for some reason). Oh, and it has wifi. I still use it to listen to STL Blues and Cardinal games from time to time.

Oh sorry, I commute to work on a bus(well I drive 5 miles to the bus stop then the other 30 on the bus). I DO NOT listen through my headphones while I drive. Somebody needs to explain this... Tesla's very own website.

I think it's just ahead of it's time.. Like Apple with ditching the headphone jack. Stupid mistake right away but I see Google is following along as well as wireless headphones are slowly becoming more and more popular. Similarly, radio. I don't think it's going to get the boot anytime soon but it does seem like a slowing medium as more and more phone plans are becoming "unlimited" allowing people to stream whatever they want wherever they want now. But, that's not exactly the case just yet. "Glaring omission" sounds about perfect. Suck it @oldshurst442, you're wrong. For what it's worth... I use both wireless headphones(gym) and wired headphones(work commute/lunch break) and would(will) be annoyed to not have a headphone jack...all the while I have an iPhone 6. Also, without radio and Bluetooth... does the car even have speakers?!?!? LOL okay this free internet will magically go from my phone to the car?? Or is it just through the car's system? I don't know what kind of app situation the car has but if it has internet and has radio apps then there's zero issue because... IT HAS RADIO.

What makes the Model 3 not having radio a big deal is that it also doesn't come with Bluetooth. I could still stream radio stations(and stations all across the nation) if I could use my phone. Now, I'm not sure how this works because Bluetooth isn't standard..maybe it's an option.. I really don't know, but I remember reading FM radio and Bluetooth weren't on the Model 3. I don't know if that means there are options for those though. I actually listen to the radio 90% of the time to my local ESPN station talking sports. The other 10% is Pandora.

I don't know what kind of jump you speak of but with all of the flooding in the past month some of that could effect that. Which is likely another reason the D3 did well last month as well.

Yep. It's probably 10X better everywhere but those headlight shapes aren't doing it for me. They're not like the Malibu where they're different but I could deal with and grow to like(like I did. I like the look of the Malibu now but I did not when it first came out). They're just.. not attractive. LOL @Drew Dowdell

I do not enjoy the headlight area on the new one.

Personally, I think the idea of sending your boy off with an oil burner is a good idea and get the wife something she wants, assuming you'd be able to spend a little more not having to buy two vehicles. 1: He'll learn to pay attention to the car more, hopefully gaining a respect for vehicles in general. 2: Burning a little bit of oil in ~5k miles isn't bad or uncommon. Ask Audi. They consider 1qt in 1000 miles to be "normal". 3: It's free to him(it seems) he should take anything running and be happy!
-
I think a better way to word that might have been, "drivers of these cars suck more than the rest"
-
The thing that makes me disagree with that is that, for instance, every Ford has the Sync 3 system but only the Fusion ranked as "high" and the F250 as "moderate" when the same system is in everything from my Focus to GT350's and F350's with every CUV in the middle including every Lincoln but only the Fusion and F250 made the list? Not knowing other companies systems, I still have to believe that every Audi and Mercedes is run similarly along with every Chevy/Buick/GMC run the same infotainment systems. Edit: Oops, I missed the Mustang GT in the "very high" list. ..and the MKC
-
I guess I thought it came out in 15 and didn't include NEXT YEAR, naturally. One could say that about MOST vehicle purchases. Unless the buyer is buying the statistically best vehicle, it could be said about everything else. It all depends what the buyer wants.

Industry News: Welcome to the Era of Expensive, Luxury Trucks
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
You insinuated they are necessary. There is absolutely more room for improvement and I bet Ford, Ram, and GM are loving that there is still even more room to move them up market if these do well. If these do well and sell at nearly 100k... add those features for the hell of it and charge 110k.- 55 replies
