  1. I love when the Euro fanboys always compare the much smaller GLS to the Escalade and Navigator as if they're genuinely competitive. I don't think Lincoln gives two $h!s about the GLS. To get Gator power in a GLS you have to start by dropping 95k. Then if the owner plans to use it for any real people moving(assuming 5+ people regularly), family vacationing, towing anything(1800lb advantage),
  2. Ahhhh damn, glad you're okay though! What's the difference between the two cars..?
  3. I know it'll be all bad-ass and all but that front fascia sucks.. It looks like one of those kids who doesn't know how to smile yet..
  4. Oh man, I wish! If I wasn't in the midst of a building/home renovation I would be way more interested in this. Having to buy appliances, furniture, TV, flooring, etc, etc... keeps a new car out of the budget for awhile yet.. What are your Sports going for?
  5. I agree with everything you said up until this point.. Machines don't have 3-5 weeks of vacation days a year and/or sick days nor will they be broken down THAT much. Yes, they'll break and be down at times but I can't see them being out a month's worth of time in a year.
  6. I'm really surprised Chicago hasn't influenced IL to need EV's yet. They're, what, the 3rd largest city?
  7. I knew it wasn't 200+ but I looked it up out of curiocity and the 2018's are rocking a 125 mile range.. weak for 30k. There would be no way I could take that over a GTI...yet. Gas prices spike, price drops some.. and it immediately becomes much more enticing. Of course I'd still want more than a 125 mile range.
  8. Saw one i these in the basement of our parking garage.. like where executives only park. I had never been there because it’s a completely different entrance and exit but I was just walking/stretching my legs and managed my way down there and boom. First two vehicle i saw were a 650i and a Range Rover HSE near the Tesla charger.
  9. I hope Ford doesn't more the Focus plant to China.. That'd be one way to guarantee I don't buy a new one. There are too many other brands who don't manufacture in China to choose from. @Drew Dowdell Is the Golf made in Germany or the US?
  10. CT6 Hybrid is also imported from China, if I remember correctly.
  11. Very well stated, Drew. Not exactly happy about it because it's true but I think it was well worded and explained.
  12. Without a doubt it would have been interesting!
  13. The only issue I do have actually is when I'm in a thread and try to go forward or back a page it won't actually load. It will go there but I ave to click refresh every time. Both my phone and Chrome on my work computer are like that. I didn't read through everything when I posted ^ that. I'll try and see if it's still doing that. Still did it on Chrome.
  14. Yeah... I know... lol I know my thoughts on it aren't very rational...
  15. Semi-off-topic.. I understand that it technically is but I hate how that's considered a hatchback. That along with the new Civic and whatever Audi has a "Sportback" trim as well. Yes, the back end opens up like a hatch but the shape just isn't stereotypical hatchback to me! Sorry, Rant: Over.
  16. I just had a small chat with a lady who works in IT and on the TV in the break room it had something about "the end of the car is near" and she asked what it was about and I said blah blah blah autonomous cars and people not driving themselves anymore. She then asked well who's going to drive them then? And I replied the computers. She laughed and said she works in IT and she doesn't even trust computers to do things, let alone drive her around. I thought that was a little comical and somebody might enjoy it.
  17. Hand guns kill more people than assault rifles.
  18. Even $100 a month sounded high to me.. By quite a bit. Unless the user is buying ties on a yearly basis, which would then make sense, if it's just our regular oil changes, filter changes, even if you added trans flushes once a year(which no company suggests as most are a sealed system now) you're still talking like $20 a month. Guestimating 3 oil changes($35 each), 2 tire rotations($20 each), and one $100 trans flush is just a tad over $20 a month. And you could mix and match that $100 trans flush to brakes or other miscellaneous things totaling $100. I could see on an older car where things are braking but at that point the vehicle should already be owned. People would and are interested but I think range anxiety is probably the biggest hold up. Then when they look into it(as an average joe family guy) and see they need to spend another $1000 to put a home charger in.. they get deterred. I'm in agreeance with everybody here that 20 years sounds too soon and I pray to sweet baby Jesus that it is too soon because I'd still like to be able to drive my own car in 20 years.
  19. Happy Birthday Mister Drew!! Hopefully you can set some time aside from your hectic schedule to just relax today.
  20. Alright, man. Whatever you wanna go with..
  21. But at that point it is no longer a savings as they'd be mainstream. That's just what it costs to run a vehicle, at that point. Until that point, I would think they would be pricing according to some of the savings.
  22. lol then they all do..in some way.. The sh!thead president has plenty to do with the auto industry... but we don't want to talk about his madness.
  23. Hey, do what you want to do but don't say one political figure doesn't matter and others do based on which political position said POS is in. They're all junk, is that surprising to you? "Hey this politician did something sh!tty" - Nobody surprised Just asking for some consistency from our leader.
