  1. So if we're talking about their abilities then we can talk about the off road abilities of the G then, right? For daily driving as most adults have their own places to live a G is a more practical vehicle than a Camaro or Mustang as their lone vehicle. You likely will not be able to fit any form of furniture(be it just some shelving or a small bookcase) in a Mustang or Camaro, they're obviously only RWD so you'd better be buying a second set of tires to have put in and off every year(I wouldn't care as that would be a good time to check out some stuff on the car pre and post winter snows). LOL Touche'... But you could have still looked at the door placard with the build date on it!
  2. Uhhh yeah... what redeeming qualities does a Camaro or Wrangler offer a daily driver over any sedan or CUV? They ride like $h! and have little to no storage in comparison. I'm not discrediting YOU at all, at least I'm not trying to. I'm just saying why there's a possibility that a reflector may have two different screws because it was an auto show car, not at a dealership.
  3. That's not what you or anybody else is complaining about though. The mechanical bits of the G are it's highest selling points(even though none of the buyers will use those for what they're designed for). But being on a floor where hundres of people will fiddle with and fondle if some jabroni cracks something and the only thing on hand is a different screw to hold on the other reflector(because ANOTHER jabroni dropped and lost the first one) you're going to use a different screw because it means absolutely nothing. That's the only way to buy any luxury car, if you ask me. It was literally what the gf's parents did. I think theirs was 4-5 years old and paid 50k or 55k.
  4. Insert any fun car ever here.
  5. Well they'll have the G70, 80, and 90. I'm not sure where those all line up but I thought the 90 was more 5 Series size..? Or is it big like the 7/S Class? ohhhhh well somebody is gettin' ripped off. Also, those are some of the most beaten on vehicles one could buy. Who'd want to buy a vehicle that hundreds of people have sat in and fiddled with things?
  6. There's no reason to sell it that cheap though... Between a leather lined interior, electronic locking front and rear and/or together along with a standard v8 and solid axles front and rear there's no reason to because it sells. Plus, they probably couldn't keep up with demand as they're still hand assembled.
  7. At least MB knows how to convince people to buy $h!. Cadillac should take note. So never buy to consider anything cool because you don't do it often? That's the least enthusiast-like thing you've ever said. If we all did that we would all be in Camrys and Fusions(and Casa can get a Malibu, because Chevy).
  8. Like you say every single time with your personal Cadillac experience, get out and drive one and be in one regularly and them come talk to me. Anybody can find bad pictures on the internet about almost any vehicle. Shall we find quality control issues on Cadillacs? That cup holder is a fckn joke though. I literally laugh about it because it's such a joke. It holds...almost nothing.. Hell yeah you can! Everybody here complains about how overly complex vehicles and their systems get and how technology is ruining the driver's car and when there's one vehicle which keeps it old school(and the Wrangler!) people get on it for that too. There's just no winning with people. Drew has also mentioned that it isn't an uncommon occurrence to see things like this on auto show floors as most aren't finished vehicles/concepts/prototypes/vehicles that will never be for sale.
  9. lol, there's nothing tacky about marble floors...unless it's just an obnoxious color.
  10. Well it isn't a 3 row SUV. but it's 3 inches wider, 6 longer, 3 taller...fair amount larger. Most comparisons compare the RR Sport to the JGC. That seems pretty significant for a 2 row SUV. You're right it isn't a BOF GM full sizer but I also think those are stupid big. After looking at the dimensions the big Rover is closer in size to the Tahoe than the JGC. Definitely smaller than the Tahoe.
  11. The gf's isn't fit with mismatches screws or poor fit and finish. Things fit as they should and with 180k miles on it there still aren't squeaks or rattles. Plus, its a vehicle you could fit in. The roof is like a mile high. If you ask me, 4 platforms across their entire brand is pretty impressive. They have so many vehicles there isn't a single hole in their lineup from the cheap CLA to the bonkers Maybach AMG. It's safe to assume that the G is the only one on its own platform along with the AMG GT but with the G being 800 years old I'd say its safe to assume that's been paid for long ago.
  12. 30 miles for a vehicle 8 times the size of a Volt and shaped almost like a brick is pretty impressive to me(Range Rover, sport is more like 4 times as large). I mean they can't just cram batteries underneath because they likely want to keep its off road abilities and clearances. FYI, I'm being a smartass about the sizes but they are both much much larger than a Volt. "regular" Range Rovers are huge vehicles.
  13. How many platforms are in the German lineups? Is the 3/4 Series on one? C Class on one? Or do those share platforms with the 5/6 and E Class? I honestly don't know. How many of those V12's have ever been sold? I doubt they are selling THAT many S65's and G65's. It's just an old engine now. That was probably the only way they could justify making it. Make sure they use it for 10 years.
  14. I loved that rear glass that opened up. My dad's Envoy had it as well. ^ The Range Rovers have a tailgate system like that. Glass opens up and the bottom folds down like a truck's tailgate.
  15. I know it's the Euro cycle but if they got 30 miles of EV range that would be bad-ass. I could buy a gas guzzler but never use any gas.
  16. There's one 2-way tailgate out there still... Honda Ridgeline.
  17. Exactly! but when a luxury automaker produces something FWD or FWD based people lose their sh!t over it. Check any thread ever about the Continental for verification, lol.
  18. LOL again with the Benz VS Cadillac? They're just going to start hurting each others' sales instead of increasing their own.
  19. One can like and want a car and still acknowledge its shortcomings. Okay, they BENCH-MARKED the car, then also BENCH-MARKED the dimensions. Blah Blah Blah... The ATS's engines are inferior to the BMW engines. Numbers don't lie. These are autos which there is little to no skill needed to run the best times. Brake torque, foot to floor, ATS is slower. Yes, because that is what they dropped the car with. They released it with a worse engine/trans lineup. Even with the updated tune(I forget which year it was they retuned it for slightly more hp/tq) and the 8spd it is slower than the BMW. I'll give you its a negligible amount at that point but slower is slower and that took how many years to get? BMW handled the ATS's engine lineup for 4 years(?) before they gave it what the BMW already had. I don't think you were in the wrong at all. It sounds like you just stood up for somebody who was being disrespected for absolutely no reason. Good job on your part!
  20. Yeah the Rover had cream colored piping and stitching as a contrast. Definitrly looked better than 100% blue.
  21. Good point. Then, IMO, they should have pushed the release back some.. I just really feel like they needed that at launch.
  22. I get to leave work early today because..protesters... @Frisky Dingo Are you away from that crap? I forget where you've said you work.
  23. I personally love blue leather. I've only been in one vehicle with it but it was awesome. Helps it was a Range Rover.. To each their own.
  24. I didn't say it was an exclusive idea. I even threw out arbitrary numbers of it being in a group of 5. I didn't count or list all of the luxury non-sport sedans but I know they aren't the only one.. isn't the ES, Volvo, 'hatever Acura fits this size' all in a similar group? Sales aren't anything special but theyre a heck of a lot better than the POS MKS that it replaced and the product is 10X better than the MKS as well. What did you expect it to be? This is the first Lincoln to finally take a step away from Ford by FINALLY using different switchgear and a genuine emphasis on luxury amenities. I already mentioned and agreed with cp that it should have gotten the 9spd out of the gate. Whether it be a delay of the product or a speed up of the 9spd development...that should have been a "Need".
