Agreed. If only the Camaro would open up the sightlines I would almost guarantee I'd want one over a Mustang. The performance is undeniable and w/ my driving style the low end tw of the LT1 favors me more than the Coyote. You just can't see out of the damn thing. My buddy w/ a 5th gen offered to give me his keys when we were going from a restaurant to a bar a few weeks ago but he stated, "it'll be a bastard to try and park there" referring to the sucky parking lot we were going to to begin with and then how crappy the visibility is in his car. I said no thanks, for now. EVERYBODY else accomplished this. No reason they can't. You can evolve a body style without changing "just to change". Look at the Mustang for example, or that above pictured Lambo. Camaro existed in the 70's-2002 without this current design. Throw those some retro bones as well. You don't always have to mimic the originals to be retro. The 2002 Catfish Camaro looked nothing like the original but that's not bad.

Looks really good, man! Did you relocate your head unit down there? How did you essentially make that fit down there and also make it look like it belongs down there because it looks like a clean, factory location. Well done. It also looks like you have to replace one of the dome lights to the "white" like the one closest to the camera yet! lol The white looks really good. Thanks! It was a blast. First vacation, that wasn't my annual "Bro Float", in probably 10 years. I'm too cheap and with still being in school there isn't a whole lot of available time. Much needed.

Yep, agreed. Just take the loss.

Hahaha yeah that's true... People will sue for anything. About the overheating issues.. I'd like to see how Ford actually worded their "fix it yourself". If they said it like that or if they said something that mentions 'a track package that as additional cooling was available and the owners chose to not get this.'
-
On their website, building them, there is no Track Package option for the 2017's. So I will assume they added everything in the package and bumped the price up some because it is not 57k and it was like 48k in 2016(both base prices). But I also see the tech package is now "only" 3k compared to 7.5k. So they completely changed the packaging for 2017. It seems like they forced a lot of options on you and jacked the price up because of them. I'm not usually a huge fan of that. But I guess they "needed" to make the track package standard, because idiots. I just realized this talk is still in an Alfa thread.. lol
-
That would only make sense. Spend 50k on a car but skip the 6.5k track package when spending 1k on track days and be surprised when it doesn't perform exactly as expected...on a track... Isn't them offering a track package in which it adds cooling devises telling that if you're going to track the car, buy that? I bet most, if not all, spent the 7.5k on the technology package though so they could have their infotainment screen "Sync" 'd to their phones while on track.

Agreeeeed! Also, Agreed. lol Honestly, if I could see out of one of these it would be ahead of the Mustang on my list. It just performs so damn well and my driving style suits the low end grunt of the LT1 over the Coyote.

It is a better car as a whole, EASILY. But we're strictly talking about exterior design/looks. That's why there really isn't much of a way to measure. There's usually a good sales bump for a new generation just because it's the new, hip thing and they look BRAND NEW. I also am not a huge sales-talk fan but new generations always create a decent bump in sales. The Gen5 outsold the Gen6 every year it was sold compared to the first year for Gen6. I agree. I think automakers need to spread the costs out longer than 5 years. Life cycles should be more in the 8 year range with a good refresh at the 4 year mark. Buuuuut competition always makes them do it sooner.
-
How? How did they "technically" get it right? There's no measure of right or wrong other than people buying or not buying the product. That IS what they did. WE, enthusiasts, know the difference but I would wager $100 that average Joe and Jane couldn't pick one from the other on a drive-by. That was only a refresh not a whole new car, assuming you're talking about the 2015 refresh.

Easy? Man, I had this up in the background at work for hours! Haha my hardest part was figuring what categories I wanted to spend money on.
-
Is it a good thing though? Customers don't know what will look good in 5-10 years they just know what things look like now and what they're used to seeing. They didn't push anything The Camaro got focus groups...of Camaro owners.. and look what we got. The same thing and their sales haven't taken off like most do with a brand new car.

This past week the gf and I went on our first real vacation together in the 6 years we've been together. We went to Vegas. I got to enjoy some Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears(talk about earning some brownie points!!). We also went to a Cirqu De Soule to Michael Jackson. That rocked, but I also love Michael's music, even if he was an odd character. Hey, the best artists of ALL TIME were all a little crazy, right!?! I burnt up some of those brownie points because we road-tripped to Phoenix Sunday for the NASCAR race. That was my first experience driving through mountains and it was awesome and beautiful. Here are some random pics from the week. This is just a random car but I saw it had a flat in our hotel parking lot and told somebody inside so they could hopefully find the driver before they needed to be somewhere and found out too late or started driving on it. We had a rental 2014 Jetta(not sure which engine after looking up 2014 Jettas I see a few different engine choices...) for Saturday and Sunday to drive to Phoenix. Who would have though the VW threw a random light?!? You know what fixed it? I immediately pulled over to visually check the tires, they all looked and felt full enough to limp to the next exit, check them all and none were below 35psi but the jabronis who last serviced the car set them at 40 and one was at 35 and one at 36 so I filled them to 40 and rolled on. Guess, what? Lights went off. Stupid VW. No clue why the traction/stability control light went on but it had. It too went off basically after turning the car off and turning it back on. Again, Stupid VW. Oh it was also due for an oil change prior to picking it up. But that's not VW's fault. Just a little humorous. Sweet pano-pic I took from our seats.

Aren't they having overheating transmission issues though?
-
All of these posts and @Drew Dowdell is the only one to post a pic??? I saw this thing this past week. Wtf is it?

If there's one thing I think Cadillac can improve 100% on, it's turning a sedan into a coupe. Their coupes are atrocious to me but their sedans are sexy as F.
-
It's beautiful but who's buying this over a Camaro or Vette? Assuming it's another Alfa GM.
-
They suffered later in customers' hands not before they even leave the road testers' hands. I did see a blue quatrifugiloioiisels last week and I about $h! my pants. Beautiful car.

To the op, no freakin-shet. I've said this probably about a year ago.. they're just spreading themselves too thin. Luckily they're catching it before the market falls too much. First on the chopping blocks should be the ugly as F GLE Coupe and GLC Coupe, please and thank you. Oh sorry, and the X4 and X6!

Yep.. I agree.. if it was all the same problem I'd be less harsh as it could easily be one faulty part but when the issues are spread around I feel like it's just more of the same old Alfa.

LOL...AND IT BEGINS!...wait..again...still.. "As I coasted to a stop at the light, the Alfa’s stop/start system shut the engine off and simply never came back on, no matter what I tried—or how loud the cars behind me honked. I was stranded, and FCA’s roadside-assistance operators, kind and professional as they were, couldn’t help. They didn’t quite understand the need for a flatbed tow truck with special wheel jacks even though I repeatedly explained that the Quadrifoglio was completely bricked and the drive-by-wire transmission would not shift out of park. A regular tow truck wouldn’t suffice; even if it could get its rear-arm “stinger” under the car, lifting it by the hindquarters would only smash the front bumper into the ground." ... "Moral of this story? Well, if you’re of the eye-rolling “Italian reliability” sensibility, that is understandable, but this is a data set of one. The base Giulia we had in The Big Test never missed a beat. If you’re still on the fence, do as our Big Test suggests and lease first. But no matter what, get AAA." http://www.motortrend.com/news/alfa-romeo-giulia-quadrifoglio-luck-of-the-half-irish/ @surreal1272 @dfelt @Stew
