  1. They have a 1.6L turbo diesel in their Equinox that gets 40mpg and a Bolt that's full EV. That diesel is probably more fuel efficient than a hybrid right now. Edit: Sorry the Niro has three different ratings. Highest is 52/49 and the top trim has the lowest rating at 46/40. The middle rating is 51/46.
  2. Tire/wheel combo of the tested vehicles is 0.19 inches apart with the Expedition being the taller of the two. If you're using the vehicle as intended and using the rear section an inch+ isn't significant but it's not negligible. There are plenty of women who drive these who likely aren't as tall as men and that inch+ means more to them. Heck, they don't even have to be the driver to use the back daily. Would you prefer yours to be 1.3 inches taller? Or if all things were equal you'd likely choose the one that was easier to load. What does the 1CF = 1728CI have to do with anything? There's a good amount difference in rear passenger and cargo capacity between the two and every comparison mentions it.
  3. What do you mean? Like in accidents? or the styling? I'd do it more for looks than ground clearance. I assume with the vehicles ocn has and is considering ground clearance isn't a concern of his either so it's likely he did it for the looks as well. So few people need that extra couple of inches that it isn't worth selling them that way unless it's a performance variant like the ZR2 and Raptor.
  4. "But there are only 32 cubes of cargo space with the rear-most row folded flat, versus 43 in the Ford. That’s largely a result of the higher load floor necessary to clear the Chevy’s solid rear axle. Third-row seating here should be reserved for children and adults you don't like." "Not only does the Expedition’s independent rear suspension make for a steadier ride over rough terrain, its superior packaging permits a lower cargo floor that’s much easier to load with gear. When it comes to seating, the eight-passenger Expedition shines with a three-abreast middle bench and a third row that can seat real full-size adults. Plus, both rows fold flat. " http://www.caranddriver.com/comparisons/2015-chevrolet-tahoe-ltz-vs-2015-ford-expedition-platinum-comparison-test For the 1% who actually need more ground clearance it isn't worth building around that. I think these already fit over parking blocks. lol
  5. I just checked autotrader and I didn't see anything available yet. I see the golf wagons that are TDI's but I feel like they have been there for awhile...
  6. Ouch.. didn't even mention Cadillac... How do you like them? They've very intriguing vehicles now that they are separated from Hyundai and have their own chassis and engines.
  7. Pshhhh gimme that engine in everything! Drop that into my Focus. I don't care if it doesn't handle perfect.. the more horsetorques the better!!
  8. While that may be super badass and the more vehicles with a 707hp Hellcat engine, the better, this doesn't look cool at all...sadly.
  9. There's probably a pretty good amount different because of when you add in the turbo and all of the necessary plumbing and intercooler up front that's a lot of space required. Heck, looking in the engine bay of my Focus vs Escape is like night and day. I can almost stand behind the engine in my Focus without all of the extra turbo and air plumbing not going on that the Escape had.
  10. Hahaha yes to both of those!
  11. Hahaha right?!?! I actually missed my turn(knowingly) because I needed to snag this picture. Funny enough, I didn't even think of the pass through, myself.
  12. I saw this this past weekend when I had my taxes done... This is another reason Mustang owners get a bad rap.
  13. If you're looking at the Explorer Sport have you looked at the Durango R/T? Similar size..and you get a V8.. Actually, it's probably larger, isn't it? Is a third row needed or could a JGC fit the bill? That's actually one of my favorite classes of vehicles, the larger 2 row SUVs. JGC rocks and has all sorts of trims and the Edge(new - not so much first gen and refresh) is awesome to me as well. The 4Runner is really gnarly, in the right trim. The Toureg is baller, but pricey... I'm on the opposite end as you.. 5'8" 170lbs.. So these things feel very large to me. I saw in an Edge Sport when I picked up my Focus and I loved how roomy it felt and how much more space there was behind the rear seats compared to my Escape or Focus. It isn't like I need a lot but as a new homeowner I know I'll be maxing out the hatchback often enough. Speaking of which... It was worse when they were separate, took the entire hatch space up. Wait, what thread is this even about? LOL
  14. So nothing under like...70-80k..? And I bet the C, 3/4, and ATS are way too small for a 6'6" human so now we're talking 100k+ for an E, 5/6, CTS in their respective performance variants. So.. yes,, we're all impressed with 100k cars. Haha Nope. I haven't seen one at my local GM store... They're probably a fairly tough sell still here where I'm at. On the other side of the river(STL) they probably do much better as the overall infrastructure is better than southern IL.
  15. Have you driven any car and been impressed with them that aren't EVs?
  16. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I tried to build a Corolla and I picked the highest trim package and there was almost nothing of substance other than adding things like a cargo net, different floor mats, etc. and it's under 23k. It is pretty cool they offer some TRD stuff for it so I'd assume that'd all be covered under warranty. They offer lowering springs, high flow air filter(K&N-like), exhaust, and a sway bar. That's pretty cool, if I'm being honest.
  17. First person who says "yes"(or any variation) gets my downvote for the day. You're welcome.
  18. I'm mostly surprised MB didn't make the cut somewhere.
  19. Damn, she's wound up pretty tight then! 4.10's is definitely shorter than you'd want cruising. Personally, I'm not sure if I'd want to go as tall as 2.73 but it all depends what your goals with the car are. It's obviously a toy to economy aren't a concern. What RPM is it when cruising at 70mph? Also, looking at what you and balty were talking about(tire sizes) it looks like your 275/40R17 rear tires are a good bit shorter than the stock 205/75R15's. That's gearing you down even more. So really, your speedo is just a guestimate right now..hahaha. 27.1inches stock vs 25.6 inches @ 275/40R17. That's significant. She looks absolutely beautiful though!
  20. Even if it is average German parts cost more and its more difficult finding a place to work on them.
  21. I would risk buying the German(known for iffy or at least very pricey repairs) made GTI over the Si(Hondas are known for their reliability - lol ).
  22. If they just axed Fiat and Alfa and placed those vehicles into Dodge and Chrysler(because I think Chrysler could be Buick-like or if given the right resources Lincoln/Acura/Infiniti/Cadillac/etc fighter. because they have RWD and SUV platforms). I also don't think Ram needed to branch off. Ram could have stayed a Dodge Rams and I don't see the point of that. Literally nothing on the vehicles would have to change other than the VIN probably. I feel like that was a waste of money and unnecessary.
