Nope, I've made 6 passes in a night when there wasn't a sh!t ton of ppl that allowed for shorter intervals between passes. Why would you only make 3 passes? Barely hindrances? I have to drive home after those passes as well.

Summed up the book. Absolutely! But that one does me no good and likely a good chunk of the mid-west. Best part of going to NHRA events is the irrationally loud cars. I would not be entertained by EV drag cars. I probably would be entertained driving them but not watching them.

Unless they have quick chargers at drag strips that's still not a viable option.

If I only planned on keeping the car for a year or two and the shocks are bad to the point of needing to be replaced I'd go slightly above the cheapest. I wouldn't want junk, but anything would be better than the worn out ones.

Zero percent chance they could replicate a sub 10 second pass on an air strip.

I know if both are off. But if you want to be warm in the winter or cool in the summer so you keep them both on.. I'd be confident keeping the ICE on knowing I can pull off and fill up but not knowing exactly where the next charging stations is, is more stressful. You're right. Charging stations don't run out of electricity but power does go out for days/weeks during said hurricane situations and I'd assume those aren't a top priority to get up and running yet. So we're back to ground zero if you're talking about a hurricane-like storm. Both ICE and EV will give you range anxiety. I know if I had a full EV that I'd seriously be looking into a solar setup with a battery storage and in a bad weather situation... I'd still have a near infinite amount of fuel for my car.

Okay so sitting in traffic, not moving, listening to the radio and using the AC in 15 degree weather has no effect on range? All of those things decrease range. I'm pretty sure you start losing range under 50 degree temperatures and the same with temps over 80, I believe. OR, I could live with the superiority of a Volt until there is a better built up infrastructure because I drive < 50 miles daily anyway.

Um...no. 276 miles from my home, to work, then to Indy. Exactly, even worse if you're stuck in traffic. I just like the Volt's idea waaaaay more until there is a better built up charging infrastructure. If there was a charging network in more places like there is in, let's say, California, it would be a no brainer. it just isn't like that yet.

Oh it absolutely is, but a G65 that probably sells only a couple hundred a year shouldn't be something we're looking to put more restrictions on or giving a sh!t about. They are saying they'll tax cars and not trucks, but only gaz guzzlers. And like balthy has already said, these people are punished(or paing their taxes) at the gas pumps because you're comparing HDs that get driven 10-40,000 miles a year to super cars that get driven MAX of a few thousand miles. The CTS-V is the biggest outlier as it's 4 doors and probably the 2nd cheapest vehicle to get that tax next to the Z06.

I've showed you an EV charging map of where I live. 62249 is my zip code, check out the charging stations. Like I said, they're great for the right circumstance. Can do what? Pull off at the next exit to fill up because I didn't want to sweat or freeze for an hour or two?

Uhh.. duh? You're also not listening to the radio or running the AC or heat. My only issue is when you do get going again a gas powered vehicle can take the next exit and find a gas station in, most likely, only a few miles. Except in a gasoline powered vehicle I wouldn't mind running it knowing I can fill up when I get moving again.

Same with a gas vehicle if you don't mind the silence on the radio or the heat/cold that is outside.

It is a very good idea. I'm not sure how practical it is to store for long periods of time in the trunk/hatch for an emergency though. I would definitely rather walk a couple of miles than overpay somebody to do that for me, in most circumstances. Half because I'm cheap, half because I'm not lazy lol.

As others find excuses to like it, I have to agree with you. Yes, 238 miles is a lot of range but if you get caught in a snow storm or a legitimate traffic jam and when you get rolling you can't just pull over at the nearest gas station to fill up and get going again. They do make sense in the correct situation. I can call a family member or friend to grab some gas for me. Can they bring be some electricity? I can walk to a gas station, buy a gallon in a tank and use that. Can I buy some electricity that easily?

If you added that tax you'd be taxing almost all truck buyers. As it stands all truck/SUV/crossovers/minivans are exempt from the gas guzzler tax. I mean, that'd be fine, I guess. I assume it is half because trucks are used for trucks and the others for hauling more people therefore more seats, usually. CTS-V is a rare one that has 5 seat belts and gets the gas guzzler tax. LOL the 3 stunt car drivers driving CTS-Vs will be "okay". Let's just cater to every nook and cranny in the system yet you and I will pay for this process to get under way. I can tell by your post that you live in a much more urban environment than suburban/country. Yes, there are some HDs that get modified but most HD trucks are used for trucks. One of my best friends has a 2010 Cummins Ram and he uses it weekly for hauling seed. Work.

I agree but it's probably a little difficult to catch as I would assume most aren't doing this around police officers. I do think it should be a ridiculous fine for harming the environment or whatever you want to call it.

That's the owners' fault for modifying said vehicle. They do not do that when they're stock. I would have thought an enthusiast would have known that.

Seems like a good way to piss money away having these trucks rated. I can't imagine this is a cheap process. The gas guzzler tax is for people who are buying a vehicle for fun and are taxed on it getting poor fuel economy. A truck owner who uses their truck for work or work related duties shouldn't be taxed additionally as he is contributing to the economy by using it for work or work related duties, unlike Joe Schmo in his Maserati.

I completely dig the looks of the new Regal but I hate the Cascada so much.. Just that tiny segment of small, slow, FWD, convertible-only cars with the VW EOS...are terrible. Not that they're actually a bad vehicle. I just hate them for what they are. They're a teenage girls' dream though.
