  1. I know they're the "torque thrust" style but they look like an OEM 99-04 GT wheel. I just think the factory wheels look better than the torque thrust on that era T/A.. This is what I pictured when I saw those wheels.
  2. I love me some T/As but why'd they put Mustang wheels on that one?!? Although I do appreciate the "deep dish" rear wheels. I always wanted a set similar to put on my Mustangs.
  3. http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/future-cars/news/a28725/cadillac-ct8-cancelled/ Thing is that the blurb was never confirmed by JDN .. the show, nor off the show.. or anyone at GM. He did say that by 2020 we will see 11 new vehicles. Furthermore... I am of firm belief that the CT6 can get the upgrades it needs to handle even the S65 if Cadillac wanted. Completely pointless to build a CT8. Ahhhh thank you, nice catch! Yeah if there are supposed to be 11 new vehicles by 2020 I wouldn't completely rule out a CT8. Heck, GM already as a motor to compete with an S65. 650hp/650tq.
  4. "IIHS says it comes down to four protective steel bars that Ford installed on the SuperCrew that are left off the SuperCab. The tubular bars, welded to the frame and placed in the front wheel wells, also are missing from regular cab F-150s." So the correction was to do the same thing they did to the SuperCrew. They must have thought the smaller configurations would weigh enough less that they wouldn't be necessary. That's why they have these tests. Good thing they corrected it and brought the safety of not just the SCrew but of the smaller cabs up to a high standard.
  5. No you're not wrong. " The steel firewall, by the way, is used because steel has optimal noise, vibration, and harshness–quelling characteristics. " http://blog.caranddriver.com/10-things-you-didnt-know-about-the-2015-ford-f-150/ Which seems odd because I thought that was one of the benefits to aluminum was the thicker guage being used also did a better job of insulating.. I must be wrong there then lol
  6. I think the firewall on the F150 is still steel. I could be wrong though. I think that was one of the few areas that steel just worked best.
  7. Thanks for posting a picture! I like the small changes. I thought it was a pretty good looking design before so no need to do anything too drastic. I think it looks slightly better than what's for sale right now.
  8. The Tundra looked pretty bad as well. Neither would i choose to sit in for an accident. Sadly, I still won't consider these crash tests when looking for a new vehicle. Until I have a child, I honestly..just don't care..
  9. "As for interior the Germans really have never set the world on fires unless you like all dark leather. They are to blame for many of the dull interiors the other MFG have copied." That was said by Hyper and it went from there. It was an evolving process about interiors unlike nobody mentioning Ford vs Chevy until very abruptly, out of nowhere. Very different.
  10. "On the heels of the rumors we reported yesterday, Tesla has officially announced the refreshed Model S sedan, which now features a revised exterior design that includes a new front fascia that’s similar to the one on the Model X crossover. New headlights have also been added to the Model S to give it a family resemblance to the rest of the Teslalineup. In addition to cosmetic changes, the Tesla Model S also gains the HEPA filtration system from the Model X. according to the automaker, this filter is 100 times more effective than other premium automotive filters, removing all allergens, bacteria, contaminants, and at least 99.97 percent of exhaust pollution. The standard charger on the Model S has also been upgraded from 40 amps to 48 amps for faster charging when connected to higher-amperage charging stations. Two additional interior trim choices, Figure Ash Wood Décor and Dark Ash Wood Décor, have also been added. Despite rumors of a new 100-kWh battery being part of the refresh for the Model S, Tesla has not revealed whether the sedan will receive a larger battery than the current 90-kWh unit offered. Production of the refreshed Model S starts today at Tesla’s factory in Fremont, Calif. The automaker will continue to add new features and functionality to the Models through over-the-air software updates for free." Pics at the link. I couldn't post them w/o uploading to photobucket..and I can't do that w/o my phone from work...and I forgot my phone today.. http://www.motortrend.com/news/confirmed-refreshed-tesla-model-s-gets-revised-design-new-features/
  11. lol I was being a smartass because how similar they ARE. The front clips look identical. The biggest difference is the hood on the two. The S class remains long and low and the CLA jumps up at a 90 degree angle to stuff the FWD engine in there.
  12. Check out the pictures: http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2016/04/2016-ford-f-150-named-iihs-top-safety-pick.html
  13. You cheated balty! Those are both S Class Convertibles!
  14. The CTS-V isn't AWD. And nobody but you thinks the CT6 interior is as nice as an A8. Styling is subjective. You asked why anyone would buy a German car at this price, I answered you. U answered why U would buy a German car. Sorry bud.. unlike U I refuse to be a groupie for Stuttgart, Ingolstadt, and Munich . The CT6 Platinum interior is as nice as the A8's.. It has every amenity, or damn near, that that POS German does. Even the American hating CR praised its interior as on the same level as the Germans. Irreverence at this point is nonsensical. The Platinum interior is not at nice. Proof right here: MT's own Cadillac lover hated how the interior undelivered so much that he thought all of Cadillac's interior designers and material purchasers ought to be fired. Look - I love the CT6. But the interior is what holds the CT6 back. It's the weakest link. And in these types of cars, the interior is more important than you think. It's a comfortable interior. But the details are lacking. Many more plastic surfaces feel more like Chevy than Cadillac. and the leather just isn't that one step above I was expecting. There's gaudy combinations of wood trim and carbon fibre. And the Platinum is the only one worth even considering. Don't expect the $65k CT6 to have a flagship level interior. I came away thinking that perhaps the CTS might have equally as good an interior. And that's great for the CTS. Not so great for the CT6. And I expect V8 models of the CT6 to cost about $100k. Many people buying cylinders and size who don't give a single damn about how a car drives (like how can anyone say an A8 and S-Class don't drive great) or how fast a car is on each of its available engines... they will only see the CT6 lacking the flagship interior and having its price advantage partially eroded away. My bad.. I thought we were talking about real life experience in the vehicles and not what some other guy told U to think. According to some on MT.. a PUSHROD is completely inferior to the DOHCs in the world.. but hey. The CT6.. versus a regular A8, 740i, or S550 Interior is actually on par. The problem.. and on inferior situation I can think of is when U start moving up in the echelon of flagship interiors where they are offering more customization and such.. but then.. there is also a jump in price that the CT6 is not at yet. With the possible delay of the CT8... I expect that your issues with the car at THAT point should be shut down. http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/future-cars/news/a28725/cadillac-ct8-cancelled/
  15. ^ Wouldn't that happen the instant they come out from behind the hood though?
  16. This is a Camaro vs M4 thread, Bong. Nice Chevy being cheaper than a GT350 plug though, classic. Anybody else think after this comparison what the V6 or I4 would do to the 340i and 328i? I'd like to see those compared as well, ya know, just for $h!s. Especially the V6 and 340i. I wonder if the M4 would have stood a chance had the SS gotten the 1LE package.
  17. Not a huge fan of the rear end but that front is beautiful. Simplistic yet muscular. Odd that the wiper blades/arms stick out on a car that will go nearly 200mph. You'd think they'd be tucked in behind the hood a little more/better.
  18. Remind me later some time. I'd really like to listen and check out our band but I can't at work..and I forgot my phone at home today ( ). PM me the link so I have it.
  19. What? Are you saying you do not have Tesla's beloved Pet Boys auto centers every 3 to 5 miles? Yes many nerds have put Tesla in the same league as Apple and yet you have to go to Pet Boys for service!, That does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling about their quality when your dealing with a cheap retailer. I would rather trust my chevy dealership over pet boys. How much service is there? Change the brakes (which last longer due to the regen) and change tires. Wiper blades and cabin air filter can be changed yourself. The only maintenance item is changing the coolant on the battery every 4 years. Electric motor has no maintenance, no oil change, no trans fluid change, no filter and belt changes, none of that. True...but suspension repairs, especially in pot hole country might be an issue for some. Brakes on Teslas do last longer, as most of the time, engine braking(regen) slows the car down considerably. Wiper blades SHOULD be one of those things that an owner of any car SHOULD be doing on their own....many don't though.... Not a slight for your argument, just an observation. I agree with you 100% on this SMK...there is no urgent need for a Tesla service center... Other than for suspension repairs and collisions.... I worked in a shop for 3 years prior to my current job and you'd be surprised how many people would pull up and just ask if we can change their wipe blades for them. The laziness of people is astounding. I will give it that some new clips are a complete pain in the ass but I'm not talking about the people who tried and couldn't get it, I'v had those as well and I understand not being able to get it but I don't understand not even trying to change a damn wiper blade. Funny story one time, I had a big old country fella probably in his late 20's maybe 30ish came and asked if I could change his blades for him because he was fussing with it for a half hour and just couldn't get the damn blades to click in. I say no problem and walk out to his, of course, larger 2500 Chevy truck that looks like he uses it for what it's built for and it took me, literally, no more than 30 seconds. First thing out of his mouth, "you gotta be $h!tin me. What the fck did you just do?" (in a joking tone). I laughed and showed him how they snapped in and he did the other side just to make sure he knew how they worked. He thanked me and was on his was. It was funny because he definitely didn't look like the type of guy who couldn't change his own wiper blades..and even tried and failed. Either way.. whether it be minor, major, or only needed once in 3 years of ownership, in my current location needing a dealer serviced vehicle for a Tesla vs Chevy I would honestly have to weigh the pros and cons before buying because the Tesla dealer is just that much further away.
  20. 42k isn't that pricey though especially when if CAN be had for 35k. When you just look at the total truck sales(half ton) they are all right on this price range also. A brand new 35k truck before incentives..bare bones v6 with 4wd basically. And they sell millions a year between the d3 and trucks are considered affordable. It all depends how you option them.
  21. I like the coupe a little more myself but I would want a second car for daily capabilities... Had to be somewhat practical..lol. I will almost always try and throw in a C63 or E63 into these things. I just love the configurations(coupe/sedan/AWD(new E63)) available between the two and the C63 is actually more my size vehicle..and that AMG V8. I can't get enough of the noises it makes! I know I would want the Black Series if I got one in something like this but the reviews make it sound like you're riding on rails..both handling and suspension stiffness that I don't think I would necessarily want. I'd almost want it just because it is the top dog in the C lineup more than anything else.
  22. I saw my first AMG GT today. Beautiful car.
  23. I think I'd want that blue color ^ on a Wraith.. huge, monster coupe. Talk about presence.
  24. You snuck that Rolls in there. Most of us enthusiasts kind of forget about those as they are just comfy barges. I like the choice. I'd rather have the Wraith or Ghost as I'm not much of a convertible fan. I just went to their site for the heck of it..and this is on the front page.. Holy balls it looks so pretty to me. Absolutely gorgeous.
  25. Speaking of SS.... My local Chevy dealer has a black SS. (over the top? Maybe.. but it is the car us enthusiasts asked for.. sedan for our families, corvette powered, manual trans, rwd.)
