  1. Read post #16. They did not "go back to the drawing board". Why not more aluminum? Maybe cost vs advantage said, "aluminum isn't worth it on this piece". And the " added steel tubing " , if made of aluminum, cannot be welded to the High Strength Steel Chassis Very good call.
  2. I never looked it up because I just assumed those three hyper cars were all using turbos.. Definitely did not realize it was a n/a motor. Can it not be a hybrid drivetrain even if it is a boosted 5.X liter engine? Let's try to make it a non-hybrid, as there is a hybrid/EV thread coming soon. Ight. I couldn't think of anything else off the top of my head even though there are probably hundreds of vehicles to choose from but I've always had a thing for these. 2004 Lightning. The only thing I'd want to do to it would be to put a good 6spd in it.

  4. I don't think anyone is disputing that cp. Also, some have picked the Camaro is SS guise. For what it's worth, at closer to 30K, I'd take the 'Maro V6 stick. I'm just having a knee jerk reaction to alternatives that are priced to Camaro SS levels. Of course there are going to be superior cars if everyone defaults to $37,000+ as the benchmark against a Camaro V6 that starts at $28,000. I don't see anyone picking legit contenders like the Mustang Ecoboost, Challenger V6, the new Miata hard top, or the FRZ/BRZ/FT86, isn't that the point? It's like what would you rather have over a Kia Optima Turbo ($28k-$40k)? Well for $40k I can get an Infiniti Q50 or ATS 2.0T. Not really.. I thought the point was a "for the money" would you rather have less options but a larger car? or in your Optima Turbo and ATS question.. would you rather have a smaller, way less equipped ATS or a fully loaded up Optima with more space and possibly better fuel economy as well? I went with the Mustang GT but I'm definitely not getting the options and features one would get with the V6 Camaro. Heck, I went with a car with cloth seats at that price! All the while that v6 Camaro is fitted with about every gadget GM offers short of engine and performance upgrades. YUP. If I had to daily this sporty car I would go RS or Golf R route hands down.
  5. Inexpensive...? What? That was back when Lincoln had some credibility. It has to be "cheaper" now to sell. The Lincoln name isn't the greatest at the moment in the automotive world.
  6. I'd like to see the drag coefficient of all of those compared to the Tesla's slippery 0.24. Tesla's may not be the most stylistic vehicles but they are designed around efficiency.

  8. . See. There's the problem. You think it's of a case of a small car getting premium styling when there isA. Nothing premium about a $30K Mercedes And B. It's a case of the newer $175k S Class coupe using the same nose as a $30k Mercedes. I understand family unity and all but a car in this price range can afford to look more distinguished than that. I agree but I think Benz is viewing it as, "Our little 30k car looks similar to our flagship." And not, "our flagship looks like our econobox." In my opinion, this is how they are pulling 30-40k out of the CLA. They obviously WANT it to look the same, it probably helps CLA and C class sales as they all look like baby S Classes now and probably 99% of the people buying CLAs and C Classes will never be able to afford an S Class..now they have a baby version. I don't hate it..I don't like it.. but I understand why they are doing it..
  9. Well your Rolls thing got me on a little kick so I'll definitely be having a Wraith, possibly as my daily. Wraith: If I don't get it in that blue ^ I probably want it all blacked out. G65/63(whatever I can get my hands on in 'the states - or the gnarls 6X6! - again, whatever I can get my hands on) Actually, the more I think about actually driving the vehicles I'd probably rather swap the G for a Range Rover Sport Supercharged - Overfinch Edition. Baby Girl Cobra 918 Spyder F Type R Coupe
  10. I've just been busy at work.. That's why all of mine have been a day or two late.. I love these things! Some do take a little more work than others.
  11. Well I think it looks terrible but I have a feeling it will do special things and push innovation forward very hard.
  12. What are the exact interior specs of the XTS vs CT6 vs Continental? From what I've read they arent far off in any capacity. I don't think the CT6 competes with either the XTS or the Continental. The Lincoln's pricing is directly taking from the XTS I honestly have no clue... at least until we get some more numbers on the Contiental we won't be able to compare them. Yeah I don't think the CT6 competes at all either, imo. It's a step up.
  13. They are targeted at two different clientele though. One who wants a sporty car and one who wants a plush car. Do we know the interior measurements yet? I wouldn't doubt at all if the Lincoln being FWD based has a more spacious interior. Just two different cars targeted at two different buyers.
  14. "IIHS says it comes down to four protective steel bars that Ford installed on the SuperCrew that are left off the SuperCab. The tubular bars, welded to the frame and placed in the front wheel wells, also are missing from regular cab F-150s." So the correction was to do the same thing they did to the SuperCrew. They must have thought the smaller configurations would weigh enough less that they wouldn't be necessary. That's why they have these tests. Good thing they corrected it and brought the safety of not just the SCrew but of the smaller cabs up to a high standard. exactly. people keep crowing about how strong the aluminum Ford is, when really steel came to the rescue. what exactly IS military grade, anyhow? "By now, you have undoubtedly heard that the 2015 Ford F-150 is constructed with a high-strength steel frame and military grade aluminum alloy body, but what is military grade aluminum exactly? Well, aluminum on its own is not the strongest of metals so it has to be combined with other metals to produce an alloy. The new F-150 is primarily built from 6,000 series aluminum alloy, the strength of which is increased by heat-treating after it is formed. By using different alloy mixtures and heat treating them, the Ford engineers have made actually the aluminum even stronger than the steel that it is replacing" http://www.muziford.com/2015-F-150/why-the-aluminum-f150-is-better-than-its-steel-counterpart.htm
  15. $37,570. Base car w/ just DSG. The thing is awesome. All the people who say it's not worth the stretch over the GTI, I don't get it. I think it is. I didn't expect there to be as big of a difference as there was. It's night and day. It's like a GTI turned up to 11.5. Better in every way. As it stands, it is hands down the #1 contender to replace my GTI. Now you need to find a way to get behind the wheel of an RS. Your reviews are solid and seen very unbiased so I know it would be a fair write up. Do that, find an RS to get behind. Lol
  16. Dang, I'd love to just be able to get behind the wheel of one of them! Luuuuucky! What was the sticker on it?
  17. If this is going to be my second vehicle and therefore more of a toy... Mustang GT, not premium, with the PP and I think that might have been all that I added. Oh, I think I added the cloth Recaros as well. If this were to replace my daily.. it would easily be between one of these two: Golf R and Focus RS. It would really just depend on the test drive because I love them both. The looks leans towards the Focus, interior Golf, performance, both are plenty quick even if they are 2-3 tenths of a second apart in whatever the race is. I couldn't get the blue that I wanted as it was a premium price. I wanted those wheels regardless so I went back to white. But honestly, any of the 4 colors available look great.
  18. ^ That was exactly why I asked because a Golf R or Focus RS would suit me much better as a real daily driver.
  19. Guard green is the BEST! Nice freakin choice! Would a hot hatch fit this..?
  20. Not exactly helping your argument ccap. The Camaro and Mustang are direct competitors and the Mustang was referenced in that article. Just saying. Doesn't make his comment any less out of left field, for the sake of a Camaro plug(over mustang). Ya know, like he dooooooeeeessssss! Oops, my bad. Mucho mejor. Jeez these littler emoji-like things are the best!
  21. I think this would be a terrible, terrible idea. Nothing says you're not a real luxury brand like having to offer a sub-line of vehicles to get a really nice interior. Not only that, but I think it'd fail anyway. Simply put, Cadillac needs to stop playing the price card and build a car that's on the same level as the cars they are gunning for. Making a car that's almost as nice, but a little cheaper isn't cutting it. I don't think they should downgrade what they have now to make a premium interior above it but keep what they have and then make a super luxurious one on top. I do see what you mean, having to pay extra for a super nice interior on a near 100k car already..
  22. This is pretty tough because I think I'd rather not a sports car for nearly 40k(I'd rather a brand new daily) but if i has to be sporty...gimme a bit...
  23. About the interior of the CT6 compared to the S class.. Do you guys think Cadillac should go the route similar to Lincoln ONLY in the sense of offering a "black label" like interior? And with it being Cadillac I assume it would be over the top(compared to the Lincoln). I thought about that the other day when it came up. Do you think they should keep the pricing and very good interiors and have a second high end line? Do you think it would sell? or work? Completely agree with the dealership thing. I've said that way back a MT that they need to separate themselves more and it all starts with their dealerships not being physically connected to a Chevy dealership.
  24. No but if they drop in their 650/650 beast it'll be scared in the performance world at least. The S65 crowd will have the slower of the luxo barges. HA. Better package/luxury/interior/whatever could still be up for discussion but it would be awesome to see the American hog out gun the biggest baddest Benz. ..with a little engine that's even in Camaros!
  25. I love the car, love the wheels.. but think they could both be matched better with different wheels and car.. just my opinion though. I actually came across one of those Anniversary(?) T/As the other day on AutoTrader. It was a coupe not a vert and still like 22-23k I believe. I love how those and the 03-04 Cobras just don't depreciate anymore. They hit like mid-low 20's and have been hanging around there for awhile.
