  1. I doubt though that anyone is cross shopping a Buick with a Jaguar, with a few exceptions of course. This is aimed at Acura, Lexus, and Lincoln. You are absolutely correct. But does that make the Buick overpriced or the Jag a bargain ? (excluding their reliability because we agree that is an issue - out of warranty)
  2. ^ Right?!?! I mean they had to have opened it up and been like "What in the F is making this so efficient and still passing emissions? Oh and not having to use that exhaust fluid?"
  3. ^ The current Ram's bones are from back in 2009 and as far as I know(which isn't sayin a lot..lol ) there's no new one in sight. At this rate I could almost guarantee GM and Ford AND EVEN TOYOTA AND NISSAN will have a second brand new vehicle in the time Ram finally does one update. They're done one thing in the past few years and that was add a small diesel engine.
  4. ^ I hope so. I think that will help the brand more than having the best handling/chassis cars. Image is everything to luxury car buyers.
  5. 35k for 197hp.. Bargain of the year right there. Probably less tq too as it's a n/a 4cyl. I guess I'm finding it harder and harder to make a case to buy this thing. Upon initial release I was pretty excited as a smaller premium CUV is kind of up my ally for a next vehicle but at 40k it is still a sub 200hp vehicle and I won't drive a vehicle that size with less than 200hp and 200tq. I'm just not finding anything that makes me want it over the competition.
  6. Hahaha It's actually comical how these billion dollar companies are trying so hard to get these diesels into the hands of customers but by some absurd amount of risk. It makes no sense to me for any of these companies to fit any form of cheating device to their cars and take any risk at all. Is it that hard to play by the rules? Don't play the freakin diesel-game! Don't all of the automakers buy each others cars to break them down and see what's what? How have none of them figured the other one was cheating the system?
  7. The people who don't have Jag dealers near them... Not the mention the people who don't want Jaguar maintenance after the warranty runs out. That was number 2 on the reasons I wouldn't want a Jag but if I was buying brand new I wouldn't be overly concerned about that part. That's more what I, personally, would worry about as I'm more of a 2nd hand car purchaser where I probably won't have much, if any, warranty remaining. right now i think you get a 6 yr warranty on Jags. I'll check that. I'd choose a Jag before a Chinese vehicle at 45-50k. I'd have a lot more trust in that. 45k for 340 +/- hp supercharged v6, big ass moonroof, etc. sure it may not be real leather at that price? but often GM's leather feels more like vinyl anyways. This is a serious machine, not a next gen downsized Equinox http://rules.config.jaguar.com/jdx/en_us_seatoff/f-pace_k17/3c3m9/a-30p-340aawd_a-crossover_jt0/b51d_jt1b-1_ner_z88d/jaguar.pdf Yeah I just built a Jag F-Pace for $50,520 and the only thing I didn't add because it was 2k was the bi-xenon headlights but it came with parking sensors and crap I didn't really want and I didn't think 2k was worth it. 6 years but how many miles? FYI This is how mine turned out. http://rules.config.jaguar.com/jdx/en_us_seatoff/f-pace_k17/3c3m9/a-30p-340aawd_a-crossover_jt1/b16d-f45c_c55r_f96j_h01ejet_hgy_jt1b-1_z93l1/jaguar.pdf It five years just like almost everyone else. Still would not have one. If I'm buying brand new and I have warranty and if both dealers were within a reasonable distance(which they are not in my case..at all. The closest Jag dealer is probably an hour to an hour-15 away and a Chevy/Buick/GMC dealer is about 4 miles away.) I would take the sportier and much better looking(in my opinion) Jag. Which is also a lot more optionable as well. There are just more ways to order your F-Pace than there are an Envision. Aren't there only 2 trims to choose from and 1 engine and only AWD? I know the F-Pace is only had in AWD as well but they offer 3 engines and 5 trim packages. I guess the biggest thing to me is the looks and the 340hp engine(middle engine) for 45k and one step up in package. It actually seems like a better deal to the enthusiast. Of course this is all dependent on their warranty because if for some reason there were no warranty or only like 5 years but 30,000 miles for some reason then it's a deal breaker because I would never trust a Jag outside of the warranty period.
  8. I can speak from experience, that Sprinter vans have nothing of the sort of feel you state. Car and Driver needs to get some real drivers as the Sprinters have the same numb feel in handling as any other van out there. They're work vans. Who expects them to spend r&d dollars on "feel". Is it a variable rack where it is easy in a parking lot or driveway and then slow on the interstate? That's about all that needs to be a concern about their steering "feel". ..if you ask me..
  9. I would still rather walk around 1 style of work van(Sprinter) than Sparks, Sonics, Cruzes, Trax, City Express, and Express, or any Chevy when shopping for my 60-100k car. Yes, some MB dealers sell work vehicles on their luxury lot but I don't see that as much of an issue as Cadillac selling on the same lot as a whole Chevrolet brand with the bowtie equally large and bold on the building as the Cadillac shield. While all of us here know damn well that a CTS and ATS are built on a completely different platform(and are very, VERY good vehicles) I bet just being on the same lot gives a lot of ignorant people the idea that a CTS is a dressed up Impala and a dressed up either Cruze or Malibu. Even though the proportions aren't the same AT ALL. There are just A LOT of people who aren't car people that have no clue about any of the stuff we talk about here. I even have "car guys" that I talk to that don't really know that much about the brand new tech that GM/Ford have like the 9 and 10 spd transmissions, for example. or the small turbo engines that both the Fusion and Malibu have. Or that the engine in my Escape is essentially the same engine in the Focus ST slightly detuned(252hp to 240hp - both 270tq)
  10. BLUES WIN!! Finally knocked out the $h!hawks of the playoffs instead of them knocking us out.

  12. They have lots of new products in the works. Hellcat Grand Cherokee, Hellcat Durango, Hellcat Wrangler, Hellcat Pacifica, Hellcat Dodge Dart, Hellcat Fiat 500, etc. All you have to do is put a monster V8 in a super dated and otherwise lackluster product and jack the price up and watch the sales roll in. Every other car company that has models on 6-7 year cycles has got it wrong. You want vehicles on Crown Vic style 17 year life cycles, throw in some body kits or new engine every 7 years as a "special edition" this is the way to make it in the auto industry. Hahaha I knew i was forgetting something!
  13. I don't believe so. I don't want to sound all fan-boy-like but why in the hell so people buy their stuff, for the most part???? I know none of it is junk but it's all just about out classed by everything else because of how stagnant they let their stuff get. Their bread and butter Ram 1500 is actually just getting old at this point. The other two just seem so much better overall to me.
  14. Cadillac just needs more vans to keep up with Mercedes. Vans and box trucks. C'mon Cadillac!!!! GET ON THAT!!!

  16. No third choice. These are it. Take 'em or leave 'em. Topless American woman during spring break or curvy (but not in this case) red headed Italian supermodel... I gotta admit, I dont know too much about this car. Its a stunner though. Looks great being seen or driven in next to a Mediterranean Boardwalk. Red headed Italian girl??? I don't think that's a real thing. I know nothing about the Alfa but the coupe form looks 10X better than the 'vert. I'd take the coupe Alfa over the T-Bird and the 'vert Alfa but if it isn't allowed then I'll still roll around in the feminie T-Bird. But I'll cut all exhaust and make it obnoxious as F.
  17. No clue.. lol Ask somebody who bought a Ram.
  18. To be honest, I think it looks pretty good.. Fancy? Doubt it. But I think it looks pretty good from that shot. I have a feeling the rear end will look a little out of place because that rear tire looks to be pretty close to the cab meaning short wheelbase..meaning frumpy proportions.. But the from proportions look decent so maybe not. I think they sold out for dollars when they made the CLA and GLA.. This is a little more icing on the cake. ..Mmmm..cake..
  19. If the original Fusion wasn't based on the Mazda 6 it wouldn't have been nearly as successful. Food for thought......... Exactly. Why do some Ford fans forget that Ford made their living just like that for twenty years with Mazda? Sales from both did not suffer as a result of them "selling against each other" so why would this? Answer? It doesn't. I'm all for multiple brands/companies working together to give us consumers a better project as long as it benefits both parties, ala 9sp and 10sp transmissions GM and Ford are working on and there are probably hundreds of other examples that was just the first one to pop in my head.
  20. Both are pretty hideous in my opinion.. One is all round and bubbly and the other had lines and creases but no curves to accentuate the lines. I can't find much on the Alfa but the Thunderbird does have a V8... Any V8 sounds better than anything that isn't a V8 and without knowing what the Alfa has..I'll go T-Bird. But man o man do I hate how roundy and bubbly they are.. such a feminine look to them.
  21. Not if the quality of materials, fit n finish is not there and it does not scream luxury. In your opinion, have you detected anything through either picture or a journalist's remark (someone who has experienced it in person) that would suggest that this new Lincoln will not have quality materials, fit or finish? What I see, is continuous improvement in a brand that is delivering on product, but is a step or two behind in perception. I bet this Continental will immensely help on the latter. 22. Your attempts to rile me up are laughable. The ATS essentially replace the CTS in the Cadillac line and only the name goes back to what the second gen CTS was. The CTS currently is for all intents the STS from before. Thus.. no coupe. IN terms of sales the product mix: 2011 Coupe 27% 2011 Sedan 70% 2011 Wagon 3% 2012 Coupe 27% 2012 Sedan 70% 2012 Wagon 4% 2013 Coupe 29% 2013 Sedan 68% 2013 Wagon 3% 2014 Coupe 29% 2014 Sedan 69% 2014 Wagon 2% with almost 30% going to coupe sales 2011 55,042 2012 46,979 2013 32,343 2014 31,115 Means that almost 15K were coupe sales in 2011. BMW's 3series sales, when it was a coupe and convertible were 15% of that mix. Meaning that Cadillac sold almost double.. by percentage.. of CTS Coupes than BMW did coupes and convertibles combined Now go post a video or something clown While correct in % but with 3 series roughly doubling, in 2011, CTS sales at 94,153(and the ratio worsens beyond 2011 as CTS drop and 3 rise) they would still be selling the same total number of 3 Series coupes(now 4Series). They can just amortize the costs better and make a better business case for variants...which in my opinion they are way beyond number of choices at this point.. 3 Series Grand Turisno? One of the ugliest vehicles ever made. Proportions are dog $h!.
