  1. 1 Truck: F150: FX4 of some sort. I just don't want a chrome dipped truck. If this is a dream garage then money isn't an issue so give me the 5.0 and allow me to put some mild exhaust on her. I don't think It'd get red but This is exactly what I'd want, black grill/wheels, painted mirrors, 4 door, short bed... 1 Sedan: CTS-V 1 Coupe: GT350R 1 SUV/CUV: Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 1 Toy: Polaris RZR Turbo ESP
  2. They don't have to be a 1 make, you can pick your favorite truck, favorite sedan, etc. and make a blended all american Dream Garage. I'll get to mine a little later when I have time to get the pics uploaded to photobucket. ..otherwise you have three garages..
  3. Torque is what turbo's deliver. In spades. And not just a peak, but total average. That's what matters. And less total average when running regular instead of premium..... which is my point. The area under the curve is reduced. I still say someone needs to put these on the Dyno with both fuels to measure the changes. The 3.5 Ecoboost drops 40 lb-ft when switching from Premium (Lincoln Navigator) to Regular (Ford Expedition). Still more torque average using a decade old engine than the latest GM Di big V8 is my point, when pumping regular. And that peak is found at only 2250 rpms. Far sooner than the V8. And honestly, just pump the premium. It only costs few $$ more. Oh, and strangely enough, the mileage is rated on 87 octane, so no, you are not giving up any. The 3.5 EcoBoost was out in 2005? What was it in back then? Okay Okay Okay, I have to stop you at "just pump the premium". Do the math and it's considerably more $$. 36 gallon tank, right? Let's say we average 19mpg with regular and 20mpg with premium, mixed driving through the whole year and the national average of about 12-15,000 miles. Let's split it to be fair. 13,500 miles. Well, regular is 1.99(national average) and premium is 2.51/ gal. 13,500miles/19mpg = 710.5 gallons * 1.99 = $1413.89 13,500miles/20mpg = 675 gallong * 2.51 = $1694.25 ~$280 dollars a year. That isn't a lot, but it is noticeable. Especially over the course of a 5-7 year loan.. $1400-1960 EXTRA to run PREMIUM. Per EPA fuel economy testing EVERY VEHICLE is tested on 93 octane. "The EPA has a specialized company manufacture small batches of consistent fuel, which is 93 octane (cars running 50-state certifications get a slightly different, 91-octane “California” blend)." http://www.caranddriver.com/features/the-truth-about-epa-city-highway-mpg-estimates-measuring-fuel-economy-page-2
  4. Pretty simple, only cars that can be bought NEW in 2015-2016 and are AMERICAN! Few categories to meet. 1 Truck 1 Sedan 1 Coupe 1 SUV/CUV 1 Wild Card! aka..toy! Could be any form of automobile just as long as it's made in America(or the company is). Doesn't have to be a car, truck, or suv. Could be a motorcycle, 4 wheeler, plane, I don't care as long as it is American! Whatcha got?
  5. Flexibility. Boom. I feel like somebody is trying to pick it apart because it isn't full electric or pricey. Yes, full electric would keep running costs down but as in any Tesla thread probably ever some up, able to go where ever you want whenever you want. This is a perfect blend of both, IMO.
  6. Ps(to my above post) I did't mean to insinuate a ZL1 was a cheap car. It was kind of two different thoughts that got blended. Originally I was thinking practical like a cheap 99-04 GT or LT1 Camaro then my brain switched to newer cars and well.. ZL1. 580hp. If I have a Chevy on one side of the garage, I'd like one on the other as well. I'm weird like that though.

I'll try and look if I get time.
  8. I think this is probably the perfect vehicle for 75% of the people on the roads. Not many people are carrying more than 4 people and traveling over 40 miles each way on a daily basis. I'd absolutely love to have something like this for daily commuting and just everyday stuff and then buy a cheap V8 toy car to make up for my fuel savings! A Volt on one side of the garage and a Camaro ZL1 on the other, yes please. I could deal with a garage like this: I think I'd rather have silver...
  9. Not too shabby, I was hoping a little more of a conventional style hatch though and less sloping rear, almost like a CLA or 6 Series "coupe".
  10. That's awesome that it's just that simple. Funny enough he's young, 23, but has a very old school mind set with certain things, trucks being one of them. He gets it from his dad who works at a race engine shop building race motors for just about anything that people want to race, typically the late model dirt stuff and drag racing. He drove one and hated how often it flipped back and forth between 4 and 8 cylinders. I've never driven one so I don't really have a say in it. I think it mostly bothered him around town when not truly cruising. He said he wouldn't really care if he was going 50+ holding a steady mph but he didn't like that it did it in town and just way more often than he expected. Edit: This was supposed to be quoting Drew but I got an error message when trying to send it. Not sure if my work computer or site error. Just a possible head's up.
  11. This weather freakin' sucks! We've been getting heavy rain for about 3 days now. Flooding everywhere..
  12. i drove the Focus with the 1.0. It was pretty good but in the end it doesn't make sense to me when a Cruze costs the same and has the extra cylinder. A 3 popper 1.0 would be just about perfect with the Spark. I would use a CVT in a Spark with the 1.0. Yeah I think the extra poundage of the Focus over the Fiesta would be just enough to make it just a tad too weak, imo.
  13. I agree, looks and performance. All of the half tons will do more work than I will ever put them through. I would be using it as a commuter anyway with occasionally people in the back and stuff in the bed but I'd never touch the max payload or towing capability. For me, I like the looks of the new F150 and the '16 Silverado/Sierra with the monochromatic grill. I'm well over chrome and them using less on the Silverado looks great to me. Similar reason I would get the FX4 package on an F150 so I'd get the matte black(dark charcoal, I believe) grill. Ideally, I'd also want the 5.3 or 2.7 for power. I don't need anything nuts. But I would hands down want a V8 in a truck because I'd like to put a mild exhaust system on it and I do NOT want to put exhaust on a v6, period. But I also don't know how the 5.3 sounds when in 4cyl mode because I had a good buddy of mine drive a newer Silverado with the cylinder deactivation and he said it was CONSTANTLY dropping to 4cyl for fuel economy and he's actually a die hard Chevy fan but he said he would never buy a new one as long as they cut to 4cyl as often as they do. ..Then I told him that there are tuners that can probably eliminate that, but you wouldn't want to under warranty..
  14. Shoot, I'm on my phone so there isn't a way to make a link hot but just guessing I would think the last gen Limited has similar or slightly less equipment than the new gen Platinums. 6029lbs is what the weight is. I'm not sure what Platinum weight you're looking at for comparison. http://m.caranddriver.com/reviews/2013-ford-f-150-limited-ecoboost-v-6-test-review-less-is-more-page-2 (Don't look at their mpg either.. Lol) I'm chalking it up to lazy reporting in the articles I've found. Reporting a 2012 SuperCab Platinum 4x4 at 5585 and I'm thinking "that can't be right" Yeah, that doesn't sound right. I "think" one of the big comparison tests had the Platinum at like 56XXlbs but if I recall it had a few weighty things that the previous generation didn't have like the panorama roof, and power running boards, heated AND cooled seats(probably not a weighty item), and I could be very wrong but I thought I remembered hearing massaging seats..? I could have very well just pulled that out of my hind side though.
  15. Man, I'm all about the Fogs and Alloys as well! I won't buy something without fogs and actual wheel(no hubcaps will be owned by me). I also am not a chrome kind of guy so any sort of chrome package I do not want because I'd likely slowly paint it all black anyway.
  16. To achieve the advertised horsepower figures, 93 octane is required per the Ford website. No doubt high test is needed to achieve something close to the advertised fuel mileage as well. And no alloy wheels with the Ecoboost? Way to kill the party. It is an urban pod for those who don't like to drive. In markets where it is a family car it does what a family car does anywhere: delivers people and their stuff from point to point in a competent fashion. I'd like to see an RS but it doesn't appear to have been a priority. I'm an adherent to that old-skool philosophy... it is fun to drive a slow car fast. According to him(granted, sample size of 1) he gets between 37-38mpg in his mixed driving.I completely agree that's it's a ton of fun driving a slow car fast!
  17. The 1.0 Fiesta does not require 93 octane. One of my best friends bought one a few months ago, fun little car to drive too.

  19. I'm just impressed any truck is running 14.1-2 let alone a loaded up Denali. That's pretty damn fast...let alone for a truck. The 1/4 Mile with 7000lbs was even quicker than some under powered economy cars. Just plain respectable numbers from a truck. Fuel consumption is very respectable considering not too long ago no matter what you bought and how you drove you'd get 12-15mpg from a v8 truck.
  20. I think it's funny I know who posts the GM and Ford threads based on the titles. You guys are such fanboys.
  21. Umm, hell no. I'm just tripping out over the fact that it is 15-20 degrees cooler here in the desert than just about anywhere east of the Mississippi. El Nino is wreaking havoc on the weather patterns here. What temps are you lookin' at? Prior to today we've been highs in the mid 50's even low 60's for almost the past month. I just keep waiting to walk out of my house in the morning and finally get hit in the face with the nasty teens and 20's but it just hasn't happened yet. Heck, yesterday morning I was woken up before my alarm for a thunderstorm. On my drive to the bus I could only go about 40mph because of visibility and that much water on the ground, it was dumping rain hard. If that was snow, it would have been 2ft it was coming down that hard and it lightly rained all day. Weird. Ass. Weather.
  22. Suav, you're Indian? And most importantly, you don't have an accent??? Yes, but a fully Naturalized Canadian kiddy. You wouldn't know though, because of the 4 season climate I lived in before, I was pretty used to harsh winters already. And guess what, I got tanned IN CANADA. So you're from India and live in Canada? That's really neat, man! That sounds like a rare combo, lol. My gf's parents are both indian(and the gf) and her dad has a very strong accent and he's been here for over 30 years at this point(probably close to 35). Her mom, you wouldn't know she was Indian if you just talked to her over the phone, no accent at all. But they both moved here at different ages her mom basically grew up in Wisconsin and her dad went through college over in India.

  24. PT Cruiser was sort of low, but the Soul, HHR and Scion you don't really sit down into, you climb up or at least move across to get in them if that makes any sense. The seating position on those is higher than in a car. But there is a lot of gray area with those sort of vehicles. The HHR you sit down into, not a lot, but you do. My Escape is about "level" for me(5'8") I don't climb up at all or fall down at all. The HHR definitely sits lower. It's much more car-like in my opinion.
  25. My bad, I have corrected it. i3's are BUTT UGLY! bmwi3-inline2.jpg i3BMWBellevue.jpg i3BMWBellevueSolidColor.jpg Solid Color one has 16K miles on it and reduced to $32K, is fully loaded but still over priced for what you get. They seem kind of neat/quirky in pictures but I have to believe they are a mess in person. $h!, 32k for one of those used? How large/small are they? What would they be compared to? Fiesta? Focus? Spark? For me they are in the Spark size and yes in real life they are a mess. Neighbor bought one and already decided it was just too much of a mess and limited driving for their use. He had to pay big time to get out of the lease. Spark size!?! No thank you, easily. Dang, I wouldn't want to get stuck in a lease with something like that but I guess even had they financed it you'd be out big bucks to trade it in or sell it out right in less than a year or two.
