"cold hard facts" about a GM and Ford products...from you...? I'll take most other resources for my "cold hard facts". They've proven to be the most accurate and reliable. Ya know, people who get paid to do the work rather than a fanboy on an internet forum.

If that's what you tell yourself to sleep at night, fanboy.

You already have that answer. It's a freaking got dang global car for f's sake. You are as stubborn and blind as Wings was at times. You both compare Ford and GM like your own preference is God and everything else is junk, old, misplaced, poorly executed, and overpriced. Mopar does not have better RWD applications than Ford. Mopar's RWD vehicles are 10 years old. And they have as many chassis as Ford, 1. Charger/Challenger/300.

Congrats on the purchase! I've actually always liked that gen Liberty. A good friend of mine bought one 5 or so years ago. He only had it for maybe 6 months though. I don't think anything was wrong with it as much as he wanted a truck and ended up buying a newer Ram 1500. Either way the second gen Liberty looks WAAAAAAY better than the first gen. I dig the boxy look. Mind if I ask what you ended up paying for the ole girl with 53k miles and 3.7L engine? Also, not trying to bash your purchase in any way but how is that 3.7? I just looked up the numbers on it and 210hp out of a 3.7 sounds a little weak? Does it feel better than the numbers? I mean it isn't like 200hp is weak for a smaller SUV it just seems weak for the engine displacement.

It'd be nice to put into almost any vehicle. Sounds like a great powertrain. What would be ideal would be to allow others to use it and also further develop the system which would be shared back to GM. That way it would benefit all parties. Just like one big Volt powertrain orgy.

What constitutes as under or over priced? A base GT350 is what 50k? You get a completely redone suspension, the whole front end body work is different, obviously the engine is an exotic, and a transmission to match. It isn't like it is a GT with a 5.2 slapped under the hood. It's basically a different car because the GT is much softer designed to sell to a broader spectrum of people. The biggest difference between the 1LE and GT350 is the engine, and bodywork. Both have redone suspensions to make them more track capable.

Whenever I do the "Build & Price" thing I always forget about incentives/rebates that can be offered at times of purchase. I'll go ahead and build something relatively out of my price range just to see how much it would cost for exactly what I want.. but I could save thousands if timed right and visit an actual dealer. For instance, the whole F150 with the sport/chrome package, XLT, 2.7, and extended cab or something like that had wicked rebated at one point. Something like 7500-8500 off..

That's just freakin' awesome! Is it just me ooooorrrrr as I watch those videos I'm always just waiting to see a shift(vehicle buck up and down) like a "normal" car??? Usually you can visually see the shift points on cars and as I watch these my instincts are waiting for a shift and, obviously, they don't happen. These cars are just crazy. It boggles my mind how people(on here) can dislike them so much when they're doing such amazing things.

My good friend that works at my local Ford dealer just sold their GT350 at MSRP. He told me they sold it to some guy from New Hampshire for just under 58k with whatever options it had but it was right at sticker price. He said they(the other salesmen) were disappointed because the store GM made the sale so none of them got to get a fat commission check.

The Tacoma can be had with a manual transmission in all of their trims What's the G80 locker as opposed to what the truck already has for a 4 wheel drive system? I've heard the brand/model/name before but never really knew WHAT it did better than a factory locking system.

Dang, I was going to go with an Escape as well.. Uhhhh if not an Escape...

damn, the lil face thingy didn't work.. I thought there used to be one for "welcome".

Yeah you'd think they could just slap a mild tune on it for an extra like 15hp/10tq or something.. Mostly just to say it's more powerful. I mean it already gets pretty poor mileage and then the mild lift and tires kill any idea of getting decent mileage out of a smaller truck so might as well give it a little more power. Both Chevy and GMC needs to offer Hummer Packages that give you real world off road prowess. Yeah, Chevy has the balls to make a 650hp/tq, $100,000 Corvette and a $75,000, 508hp stripped out track Z/28 but they won't even touch anything that even looks at dirt.

I agree, Olds. He was sulking.. it wasn't the "most professional" thing to do but it is far from even "bad" in my opinion. Childish..yeah..but is that any worse than what Bill Belichick does every week with the media? We're just used to seeing those pearly whites of Cam that anything that isn't super positive turns into super negative. I just think it's funny how the double standard of certain players can be so vibrant. I love Peyton and I'm glad he won and hopefully he walks away on top of the world and possibly the best qb to have ever played the game..but do find it worse to walk away without shaking hands than to be a child in front of some reporters. Let's be honest here, this is the first time in Cam's LIFE that he's ever lost something meaningful that he was supposed to win. He doesn't know how to lose yet. He has gotten WORLDS better than when he first came into the league because he was quite pissy after games then too but he's matured a lot and still has a lot to keep going. He's young and hopefully this loss teaches him some thing. Mainly, how to lose and how to win.

2016 Chicago Auto Show: The 2017 Chevrolet Trax: Comments

This reminds me of the 2.0T in the Escape and Fusion. I don't know why the Escape gets the new one in '17 but the Fusion doesn't. -

Yeah Chevy offers 55 different appearance packages and not-a-one will compete with a Tacoma TRD Pro off the beaten path. Apparently this is all you get in that 7k purchase, lol. Z71 Trail Boss: Z71 Trail Boss Sport bar with LED trail lighting 17-inch Black painted wheels Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac®265/65R17 all-terrain tires Black 3-inch round rocker steps Spray-on bedliner Black Chevrolet bowtie emblems Black fender flares All-weather floor mats with Z71 logo

I'm with Frisky, I think this looks awesome! The Tacoma looks much more "truck-like" to me. If I had the money for one of these I'd love to drive one every day.

I think all of them in their premium trims are basically dipped in chrome. Bumper, grille, mirrors, steps, handles, bigger larger badges, wheels...

Okay, that makes sense. I wasn't sure if it was a standard feature on the 2SS or a stand alone option. But if we're talking about competing with the Shelby it would probably need the brake package as well bringing it up to 42k(while the Shelby with its track pack is like 55k). Still at 42k it is a "bargain" performer. I suppose the upgraded 6 piston brakes would help longevity at the track, but keep in mind during MT's testing the 4 piston standard brembos on the SS stopped shorter than the 6 piston upgraded brakes on the GT performance pkg during a comparo, and only 2 feet shy of the GT350 track pack they tested at another time. But that's all a moot point (not sure if you were implying this with the end of your comment) because a base GT350 lacks magnetic ride, some handling equipment (under hood bracing, springs), and all the track cooling systems. I think a lot of the benefit of the upgraded brakes would be the repeat-ability. Yes, they will stop harder and better but packages like that tend to be "track packages" and I would assume they are all steel braided brake lines, better cooling, better heat dissipating materials. Yeah that was what I was getting at in my last point. While adding the brakes and MRC to the SS may bring it to 42k and the base GT350 is 49k, or something like that, you need the track package the brings it to 55k anyway. so it isn't just a 7k difference.. it's basically the difference between a base SS and base GT350.. 37-49 again or 42-55. Close enough. I put "bargain" performer because in my eyes 42k is a lot of money on something I couldn't drive every day but at the same time for 42k and all OEM it does some kick ass things.

I REALLY wanted the XD to be a badass truck and put it to the half ton D3s but the last review I read it just didn't seem any more capable than any other f150/1500 with the top engine and tow package. I don't know why I wanted to like it because I pretty much hate everything else Nissan makes but I wanted to like this truck but it just doesn't seem up to the challenge called the Detroit3. I think I just wanted to see what the D3 would do to answer the XD but the XD never really upped anything. 12,300lbs towing, F150 can do that, Silverado can do that, Ram can tow 10,650lbs so I guess it tops the Ram a little. I also am assuming that the D3's half tons that are doing this are all doing to be single cab, long bed, 2WD and I do'nt know what the 12,300lbs for the XD are in. I didn't think it even came in a single cab.

Tesla Model 3 to Debut End of March, Production Late 2016
ccap41 replied to G. David Felt's topic in Tesla
Full Size Trucks are just not fit to be someone's only car with so many variables... What if I, on a lark, decide to take my Full Size Truck to a craft beer sampling, Saturday night in the city. I'd never find parking and miss half the event, while the guy in the Tesla Model S finds free electric parking and gets to the event in time! Compact Cars are just not fit to be someone's only car with so many variables... What if I, on a lark, help my friend move from one condo to another. I'd never fit his Laz-E Boy into the car, while the guy in the Tesla Model X fits tonnes of stuff just fine! Coupes are just not fit to be someone's only car with so many variables... What if I, on a lark, decide to take my Coupe to my child's field trip function. I'd never fit more than one kid into the car, while the people who don't make dumbass, rhetorical statements haul several kids in their vans/SUV's/trucks/sedans. While I usually don't agree with ocnblu and his anti-EV thing it makes more sense than your three scenarios. A Tesla model X I still do not see fitting a Laz-E-Boy and if it did you should be comparing similar size vehicles to an EV not a compact to an SUV. We're talking fuel sources and not the capability of the vehicle itself. A Compact, full size truck, and a coupe can all be filled up withing a few miles of home with a range of 300+ miles. Odd are, if you're taking children on a field trip the are young enough that you cannot legally have your child in the front seat to begin with(stupid laws, but they exist) I think the drag strip was an extreme example and not really practical but the point(I think) is the charge time and accessibly at this stage of the game. -

Hmmmm a few things that I don't like when reading that.. You're losing A LOT of range with that driving style. Let's say we have a 200mile range battery. only charge to 80% = 160miles Don't allow under 25% = 110miles I don't like how those numbers are adding up. You only have 55% of the battery to actually use in that scenario.
