  1. Looks sharp from here. Really like the Black trim as opposed to all the chrome they normally come with. Seems like a Balth kind of ride.
  2. Really? Their own “design”? Well, they may have “designed” it but that’s it. “Mercedes-Benz will source batteries from Chinese firm CATL for its upcoming EQS electric car. Scheduled to launch in certain markets next year, the electric luxury sedan is targeting a range of 435 miles, as measured on the European WLTP testing cycle.” And you think that’s an up sell for Mercedes? LMMFAO!! Sorry, but I’ll trust LG and their decades of experience on Batteries over some no name Chinese company. It’s also not some “off the shelf” battery either. Where in the hell do you come up with this nonsense? How to say “I don’t know what I’m talking about” without actually saying “I don’t know what I’m talking about”.?
  3. Crazy looks or otherwise, it also gets 36MPG, which is far better than ANY 3 row full size SUV that will see just about as much "off road" use. I see zero problem with this.

  5. Good grief bar mover. It’s more expensive than all of those (not to mention the XT4 is a whole class smaller), and it’s only rocking a four banger at entry level. Just stop and pay attention to what’s actually being said instead of making up new criteria and kicking that bar around. Why in the F would they? All that proves is that Porsche buyers have more money than sense. Just a stupid, stupid comparison.

It should be noted, while some folks here are bitching about a hypothetical price jump with AWD, that the Lyriq undercuts two of its competitors in the segment, the Jaguar I-Pace ($70K with LESS range) and the Audi E-Tron ($67K, also with less range) so even if AWD is $10K, it is right in line with the competition so maybe these phantom complaints should sit this out until its known for certain what AWD will cost.

  8. You missed the point of that by a country mile (nevermind the fact we have now gone from a $10K jump to a $15K because apparently that makes for a better exaggeration). They do if you want performance to go with that AWD (the GLC alone requires a $16K bump if you want AWD and an actual powertrain that will move it). Besides, until they release an AWD model, you are just assuming the worst about it, as per the usual.
  9. No. The question is why does it matter. All companies do this with entry level (which, in this case, is still very nice) models and then adding more expensive models with more options like AWD and more power. Take Benz for example. They do that with the AMG lineup yet folks like you don’t blink twice at the obscene price jump so it should not be any different for Cadillac regardless of how much more a higher performance AWD model is. Much like base model E-Class autos with glorified pleather seats, it gets the customer in the door so I see zero problem here while you are trying to make up a problem.

  13. You cannot be serious. I guess buyers of $100K Escalades don’t have money. I must have missed that memo but then again, I have to give you credit for yet another move of the bar. The excuses you offer to Benz, that you don’t extend to others, is just pathetic at this point. Umm, A Class, GLA, and Metris van on lines 1, 2, and 3. If they weren’t reliant on entry level products, none of those three would exist. Just pure nonsense.
  14. I love my sister but we are only 18 months apart (I’m the youngest) so it was a constant struggle for my parents, like herding feral cats. I should have been sending them sympathy and thank you for not killing us cards. Remember what you said about the XT5 vs the XT6? Let me find that for you. “2. XT5 has been on market longer and has more name recognition” The Blazer and Envision are both far newer named models than their big brothers. Guess that doesn’t apply here (hands SMK his bar back so that he can move it yet again). Again, no direct data to support your third row claim, using that name recognition logic you threw out.
  15. Was a beautiful 78 degree day today so I sat outside with the camera (and 200mm telephoto attached) and caught some of the wildlife out and about.
  16. The XT5 is not that great compared to its rivals either but I guess that requires you to move that bar again. I’ll give you a minute. Again, bar moving. Make up your mind.
  17. As a someone who grew up in a three row full size Chevy van, I can tell you for a fact that there is no amount of separation that kept me and sister from tormenting each other. Anyone with more than three kids should be considering a minivan IMO. There are even two now with AWD, making them as versatile as any CUV while providing tons more space.

I swear @smk4565 must have a notification that alerts him when there is any article regarding Cadillac because he only pops in here to troll anything to do with Cadillac because I guess when you have a 13 year old Benz, you have to stand up for it even when the rationale being used is an utter crock of $h!.
  19. And that is a crock and you know it. The two are nothing alike other than sharing a price. Just stop it already. The Lyriq is night and day better looking inside and out, than the XT6 and will probably run circle around it, performance wise. You can’t even pretend that won’t happen.

  22. Did you even read what I said or do you just normally make up scenarios where it means nothing? I provided you with actual data, via a link, of the top 25 selling vehicles. Go back and actually read that before making another snippy reply. You totally sidestep the fact that most buy those particular CUVs because of their, not because they wanted a barely usable rarely used 3rd row seat. Understand it yet? Again, I provided some actual data backing up my claim. You cannot say the same. That’s the difference here.

  24. It should be noted that the Slade has always had 3rd row but the Tahoe did not during its 1st gen run. That is what I referring to. Either way, it does mean that was the reason for those being purchased.
