  1. And for $58K, I'll just a get loaded full size truck that can actually tow without fear of death (read about the towing reviews and issues with the Gladiator). That is just absurd money for that.
  2. And I am fine with either of these colors.
  3. I am very interested to check out the Maverick once it hits dealerships. Years ago, I would have needed a mid-size to large pick up (used, of course) but these days, a truck this size (or the Mavericks) would serve 99.9% of my daily driver needs while not sucking up gas doing it and can be had for presumably less coin (options aside).
  4. There was noting wrong with either (aside from the color choice), if you ask me. The 70s started the design decline for me. The 80's were the nail in the design coffin.
  5. The first look is a little jarring because the look doesn't say "pick up" at all, which I think is half the point. Definitely going for different here, as far as their approach to this niche market (again, with a nod to the Baja of the early 2000s).
  6. While it has been compared to the last gen Subaru Baja, I don't think that is an apt comparison. It's Tucson roots gives it a taller ride (without being too tall) and upper end engine for it would shame anything that was ever in the Baja. It also looks FAAAAR better. Honestly, I don't know how well it will do in a country full of "critics" and jacked up pick up drivers (who never use them for actual work) but it certainly has potential with the city dweller crowd. Hell, I wouldn't mind one for those short trips to Home Depot. My only issue with it is not having a pass through to the cabin at seat level (not a fan of the pass through manual window). Other than that, I might have to get a closer look at one once they hit the dealerships and then wait for a gently used one to hit the lot (because screw new car prices).
  7. *Cue the disgruntled truck owners, who have no interest in this anyway, whining about about the bed length.*
  8. And all of those models (with the exception of the TB due to it short time out) have gradually gone up in price with every passing year. Again, it should be stated that BEV cost savings have been mostly with batteries in mind. It does not take into consideration how those BEVs will be packaged or optioned before they are shipped off to dealerships. Same reason why ICEs engines have gone down in certain costs while the cars they go into have not. There is a clear distinction to made here if folks bothered to actually see it instead of the endless back and forth and dead horse beating about "Well, David said they'd be cheaper and they're not so lets continually attack him while not understanding the context of what he was saying in the first place". Apparently one week timeouts have not changed this habit for some. Actually the timber industry has had a history of promising lower prices on lumber while rarely delivering on it, going all the back to the early 1900s. They are still doing it despite the sharp increase in lumber prices over the last year. It's an easy search.
  9. This page is proof of two things: 1. Some people have a problem with context. 2. Some people just want to bitch for the sake of bitching because they think they have to accomplish some kind of mystical “gotcha” moment. And you (and a few others) have beat that horse to death. Maybe it’s time for a new argument.
  10. Just added to the LP collection and this one happens to occupy my top 5 all time favorite albums list. (Temple Of The Dog)
  11. For sale here. https://greensboro.craigslist.org/cto/d/greensboro-1967-pontiac-gto/7304963595.html
  12. And? That makes her just like EVERY OTHER company head, including companies like Daimler.
  13. Okay so maybe it just seems obvious to me that they are referring to GM's numbers only.
  14. See the part in bold. “The Green Drive to one million EV's by 2025 with recognized leadership in North America will happen using gm's new Ultium Platform and Silverado's proven capability. GM confirmed”
  15. I don’t know that I would struggle with it, per say, but with my girlfriend being the way she is (medically speaking), I’m not rolling the dice. Now, if I was actually having to travel out for work, it might be a different story but for now, I have the luxury of waiting it out for just a bit longer. During H1N1, I was working at a residential behavioral health treatment facility with over 100 “patients”. 90% of the entire facility (students and staff) came down with H1N1 and they were offering shots then. I did not do it because by then, the entire event had pretty much run its course and I had nothing (again, lucky with the strong immune system) and never got it. Looking back though, it may have foolish on my part because even though my immune system is pretty robust, I am a prime candidate for being an asymptomatic carrier so thats what makes this situation a little different.
  16. I would like to add that since I have the ability to work from home, I am not rushing to get the vaccine but not because of the vaccine itself. My girlfriend has an auto-immune issue and while she gets to work from home as well, me bringing in even a weakened strain of anything is a roll of the dice. The one and ONLY time I got a flu shot, I ended up as sick as I have every been, so I have to consider that as well. I am planning on waiting until we hit the 80% vaccinated number before I go. I also have a very strong immune system so I prefer to wait while the folks that really need it, get theirs first.
  17. Fort those that are still little confused about the COVID/Cold relation. https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2759815 And for the record, H1N1 was more closely related to the flu than COVID-19.
  18. You sure you didn’t make the comparison? Then you had no frame of context, hence my statement. Also taken out of context.
  19. That was not the point at all and since it wasn’t directed at you, you are making an assumption about my intent. This was more a counter to the notion that because some folks died from the vaccine and that COVID really doesn’t affect younger people (or does), that we should just not give out a vaccine. By saying “be cautious”, you’re basically implying that they do nothing. We did that last year and it didn’t work out so well, hence the hasty need for a vaccine. And please refrain from comparing the flu to COVID.
  20. An otherwise healthy 24 year old man needed a kidney AND lung transplant due to COVID. https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/colby-vondenstein-lung-kidney-transplant-covid-171805750.html
  21. Again though, there were years of data available to multiple companies and that data is what bright the vaccine in the first place. The FDA emergency release mostly just bypasses the long red tape laden process that hinders more than it helps.
  22. No offense but even with full FDA approval and years on the market, there is risk with ANY medicine/vaccine. Drew also covered, very thoroughly, why a lot of the supposed fears are just unproven hype regarding mRNA vaccines. The fact is that, for now, it is better than doing nothing at all and just hoping for this mythical herd immunity that some have suggested around here.
  23. Be careful with those facts David. Some folks might have an “opinion” about it. Jokes aside, that is really good information and that needs to come out more instead of the ridiculous propaganda and bias laden nonsense being put out there by the anti-vax/anti-mask/alternative facts crowd.
  24. Of all the examples from that era you could have given, you go with the ugliest pepto bismol pink beast you could find. This would have been a FAAAAR better choice.
