  1. It doesn't even matter if it makes money or not. I believe it is a gold mine too. The competition in this segment is kinda sparse, but also of no consequence. If you can buy one, why not buy them all, right?
  2. Yeah. And who's building battery factories, solar panel factories and charging stations and the like in America, making the U.S. as the among the largest producers of those in the world?!! Oh, the same guy who's in charge of Tesla...
  3. Pushing vehicles to the limit - isn't premium specified because of better timing that is possible and knock prevention? Diesel makes a great case in German cars (not tainted by dieselgate) where every other config is specified premium.
  4. It's up to a subjective definition of being "affordable". To afford a an average price of US $33,000 new car transaction price you have to earn above the median income. No car is actually affordable in some lenses...you can make do with public transit, don't pay for parking, fuel, insurance, licensing, tickets and of course, maintenance. A Tesla reasonable configured in the $40 to $45k range is reasonable. And from Tesla itself, here's what the Model 3 really is, "Model 3 combines real world range, performance, safety and spaciousness into a premium sedan that only Tesla can build. Our most affordable car yet, Model 3 achieves 215 miles of range per charge while starting at only $35,000 before incentives. Model 3 is designed to attain the highest safety ratings in every category." It's not an affordable family sedan, and it's being clearly mentioned AS THEIR MOST AFFORDABLE MODEL. I must emphasize... The the base price is not subject to change. Look, we can all turn away from this phenomenon, dismiss it, critique, try to find faults - but the problem is that we're outnumbered by the amount of people truly enthusiastic about this car company. And since when have people that are not true car enthusiasts not by reading a car magazine or not being on car forums or not being true automotive fanatics, doing mods, restos and performance driving ever been so interested in a car company, an American one at that?
  5. Yes. Mercedes gets to build Mercedes Pretendz and this at the same thaaame.... I'm pretty sure it's this or a Bentley Continental GT Convertible or Rolls Royce Dawn or whatever that they make... Now I'm not sure this is even a profitable car, but again they have something for everyone. And this car obviously delivers practically anything the competition has to offer for atleast half the price or even less. But it cannot offer the brand image of being British and being a barge. Hey, I bet it's hundreds of pounds lighter than the competition... not that it matters. What I'm trying to say is that the mortals who actually can acquire these kinds of cars want their car to weigh more not less, and they want bespoke everything...
  6. It’s hard to imagine having a bank account fat enough to afford a $177,325 Mercedes-AMG S63 4Matic Cabriolet. It’s even harder trying to wrap your brain around the idea while cruising through Nice, France, and Monaco, where the sun tans beautiful jet-setters year round and where multimillion-dollar yachts and homes dot the coastline like salt on tortilla chips. (Yes, they’re everywhere.) But that’s exactly the scenario Mercedes-Benz presented media during the launch of the all-new $132,325 S550 Cabriolet (we drove S500 Cabs, though they’ll be badged S550 in the U.S.) and the aforementioned S63 Cab. And far be it for me to not give it the ol’ all-American try. Read more at: http://www.motortrend.com/news/2017-mercedes-benz-s-class-cabriolet-first-drive-review/ So.... Look at THAT:
  7. Supplier
  8. I take that back, I did more research on the Broughham d'elegance. Usually I'd say a trim job on a ten year old car (at the time) is kinda nuts... but then look at this interior. Lickable. Now why is it so hard for Cadillac and Lincoln dammit to make something like this again? MAKE BROUGHAM REAL AGAIN!!
  9. You don't get the Ahhh...Perrier....
  10. The Dart was one of those cars that had a huge reveal, a lot of buzz from the press and after that it just fell off a cliff. I think it was actually quite good looking, but the gas mileage is horrible for a compact car, and while the 2.4 gives good power in its field, it's also powering a lot of car. However pitiful as it is, this one vehicle alone probably outsells the entire Fiat brand by quite a bit. Seems legit...
  11. These are all valid concerns. And yeah. Service is one of those concerns that isn't a issue as it is with ICE cars. I would be more willing to spend money on a Tesla than the Bolt. That is, if I am willing to spend money on an electric car at all. Which is no. Not now, not at this time or place. But if I had a property which I could install solar panels and the like, then I'm game for an eletric car.
  12. Honeslty, the more I look at the CLS, the first gen still looks so dramatic. And in matte paint, it might as well be molten metal...ahhh....Perrier..
  13. I didn't particularly like the Avista. However, I am very satisfied with the Buick Lacrosse. Judging by how the Cascada will not be updated for quite a while, I think the Buick Avista concept was a decent design study. But they never made a promise or made it a point that it's the next meta. So they're off the hook.
  14. It's one of those munificient moneymakers. In person - I like them quite much. In photos - they look disgusting, kill it with fire.... Yeah, I never thought I'd like the Enclave, but in person, it's a decent crossover. Though I would suggest anyone getting these now to hold out for the CX-9.
  15. Please. The CT6 Platinum interior triumphs the boring ass A8L.. it is AWD. Looks waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the tired VW look... It does have comparable HP especially when weight is levied in. f@#k Germany.. and f@#k German cars The CTS-V isn't AWD. And nobody but you thinks the CT6 interior is as nice as an A8. Styling is subjective. You asked why anyone would buy a German car at this price, I answered you. U answered why U would buy a German car. Sorry bud.. unlike U I refuse to be a groupie for Stuttgart, Ingolstadt, and Munich . The CT6 Platinum interior is as nice as the A8's.. It has every amenity, or damn near, that that POS German does. Even the American hating CR praised its interior as on the same level as the Germans. Irreverence at this point is nonsensical. The Platinum interior is not at nice. Proof right here: MT's own Cadillac lover hated how the interior undelivered so much that he thought all of Cadillac's interior designers and material purchasers ought to be fired. Look - I love the CT6. But the interior is what holds the CT6 back. It's the weakest link. And in these types of cars, the interior is more important than you think. It's a comfortable interior. But the details are lacking. Many more plastic surfaces feel more like Chevy than Cadillac. and the leather just isn't that one step above I was expecting. There's gaudy combinations of wood trim and carbon fibre. And the Platinum is the only one worth even considering. Don't expect the $65k CT6 to have a flagship level interior. I came away thinking that perhaps the CTS might have equally as good an interior. And that's great for the CTS. Not so great for the CT6. And I expect V8 models of the CT6 to cost about $100k. Many people buying cylinders and size who don't give a single damn about how a car drives (like how can anyone say an A8 and S-Class don't drive great) or how fast a car is on each of its available engines... they will only see the CT6 lacking the flagship interior and having its price advantage partially eroded away.
  16. More people want to buy the Tesla than the Bolt. That's a fact. And more of those people are willing to spend more money as well. And citing some tax credit that we all want the car companies to stop being eligible for is not credible benefit. Because it's highly dependent on the situation of the individual buyer. And it's temporary. You do not get the full value of the credit if you don't qualify for the full amount and it can't be carried forward. The Bolt may well be a great car. It seems incomprehensible how there are some bits in the car that'd you have to pay above $60k to get in a Cadillac (through-view mirror). The Tesla being even $15k above the price of a comparably equipped Bolt is pretty reasonable.
  17. Here's a stark reality. There's never...never going to be a standard transmission electric car...
  18. CHEVROLEYYY....
  19. Dude you can't make common sense decisions like that - they're not in the scope of this thread!
  20. Wut de fuge?!
  21. Please. The CT6 Platinum interior triumphs the boring ass A8L.. it is AWD. Looks waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the tired VW look... It does have comparable HP especially when weight is levied in. f@#k Germany.. and f@#k German cars What's funny is that the A8 and CT6 are actually much closer in weight than the comparison made against the S-Class - like about 250 lbs. And the interior of the CT6 is not on the level of the Audi. I picked the CT6 because I know exactly what's underneath the car. Discerning lessors in this segment - if they don't care about the exact details will find the Audi A8L interior far better furnished than the Cadillac. No question about it.
  22. Right, and it's ALSO the only reason 325,000 deposits have been collected for the Model 3, about which there's no definitive information about on-sale date, final design, final interior, equipment list or final pricing. It's getting pre-orders & buzz because of the ONE known factor; it's electric. Which is all that it needs to win. I am fully confident that the only reason any other car is also compared to this is because they're electric. Unless you want me to say how a Chevy Sonic is more practical than a Cadillac ATS and probably is more frugal for your wallet... I have my skepticism about this company, but know for this sure - they're the reason why GM and Nissan are doubling-down on this. The rest should follow. Which is great - because Tesla isn't a stupid company. They welcome competition - they want it - badly. Because either way their kind of car becomes validated when others try to knock'em out. But I still find it hilarious that other electric cars are just not desirable. The suggested price spreads between the Bolt and Model is is wholly appropriate - given one's a RWD sport sedan and the other is just a hatchback Chevy. And most likely the federal credit is rather limited for the product cycle of these vehicles. At that point the Model 3 is a no-brainer. And now the rest should follow.
  23. I must lick that Vanquish one day. And LOL Brougham DE LE D'ELIGANTS' Such a lovable name for kind of a lacking car IMO.
  24. Easy. Mine config'd is at $92k Though I would immediately get rid of that horrendous grille and get the one from the premium luxury collection installed.
  25. For $81,000 the M4 is no longer competitive. And before the V8 they used before had a unique sound. Now we're finding that the V8s are becoming more rare.
