  1. Very True. And I like to think! And as long as it is not straight out bashing or nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking-then it is fine with me.....
  2. As far as the marketing-I agree with seigen. If you want a good laugh, read some of the ads in Motor Trend..... I think much of it depends on two things: 1. What your needs are. 2. Whether you buy or lease. Pretty much that simple. If you are buying a car-you really shouldn't need to worry about resale-as stated by the many reasons above. Most people aren't worried about an extra 500 bucks anyway. If you lease, you are either looking for the best deal-or you are looking for a car to suit your needs. For example: If I leased (picking these three)- I would lease an Accord. Payments aren't bad-good gas milage-could beat on it with no worries... If I bought-my choice would be the Aura. The looks, Onstar, the fact it's pretty zippy, and my family's GM discount are just a few reasons.... Granted everyone is going to be different...
  3. Ok. Stopped to see a sick friend. Dis some other stuff ..that's about it.
  4. Go for a long run. Plus, you'll sleep better that night.
  5. Oh, I I hope you feel better soon !
  6. Wow. I just about fell out of my chair after reading that one....
  7. I'd love to....but coming from MI would take a while.... You need to drive that thing this way...
  8. What he said.
  9. How come I can't have this thing parked by me?
  10. GTX is a pretty good oil... That is kind of a tough question to answer. Yes and no. Bascially it depends on the shape of your engine, and the miles on the car. Most high milage oils have some synthetic(sp?) oils in them...which can send your car either way. If your engine is not burning much in the way of oil (or just a tiny bit on the engine), then it should be okay, unless the car is pushing close or over 200k... Most oil brands suggest you start it around 75k miles.... My wagon is a case of not putting high milage oil in....at 140k, it burns just enough oil, and has oil on the top of the engine, which if HM oil is put in-it will cause leaks where deposits have built up. HM oils can work in your favor, as they offer extra protection for your seals and such, and is much harder to burn off-and basicallty lubes the engine metal parts better... Hopefully that helped.
  11. Now this could get interesting... :AH-HA_wink: I must say, it is a beauty....
  12. I thought I saw an ad for 169 a month here..now that will send them running...
  13. You do make some good points, LA... It's not that I hate the tuner crowd ( just saw a nice slammed 04 Cav and a taseful Mailbu), it is just when you see so much, it really, really makes you wonder.... As you said-all about perspective. I see mine as more inside the crowd, as I have been in the scene almost as long as I have owned my first car...and I do see both sides.... Quite a few of my friends and family have both sides...a Chevelle SS, a slammed 00 Neon, a 75 Caprice, 82 Camaro, a custom 2003 Cavalier...to name a few.... I've helped friends tinkering with theirs...and even got into customizing my 00 s10 back when.....and once in a while-I still do. It is just certain things you see that make you question things..... I had a feeling my first line might get me into trouble...I like tuners...some, anyways.....maybe it would be easier to say that it should be the stupid ones.... I agree with the above people about taking it to a track- unless you live in Montana, or some serious farmland-it is too dangerous otherwise.... Though I think that we can thank F&F movie for most of it.... I do have agree with the we are all crazy once in in while-even me. :AH-HA_wink: Personally, I've grown out of the tuner crowd-I'm part of the muscle crowd family now..... Maybe a Chevelle, Grand Prix, a 70s Caprice or Impy, or a nice Olds.... Trust me, I do have some other resaons about the tuner crowd...but then I would need a whole new thread my friend...
  14. I guess I could say I'm like you, KF.
  15. Well, hopefully not the yard.. I love Rivs myself- but I couldn't spend much more than like 500 bucks on a new beater (which could replace the wagon) and not spend more than a few hundred fixing it up.... So I know how you feel....
  16. I know this is going to be harsh- But I feel pretty much all ricer's cars should be crushed...there are simply too many stupid poeple out there... Reasons? - Street racing might have been okay about 20 years ago- but with the population boom and there being SO many people around, not only could you kill yourself (well, if you were stupid) and many other people as well. -As I got into the tuner thing-I have come to realize most people don't have a clue when it comes to customizing cars. NOS is a good example. How many people do you know that would put a NOS tank near a fuel line/tank? I wish I could say one person, but nope, quite a few (and listening on advice on how to do it). With muscle cars, you just had to worry about suping up the engine- but now you have to watch out for that guy with the WAI and the giant wing-gosh, he might just fly away.... -why would one spend 10,000 bucks on a car, then go "ghost riding"? -I know 2 people (an old classmate and a old co-worker) who have killed themselves while street racing. And the worse part? Their friends were out again that very next weekend... - Muscle car drag racers didn't have to worry about wings, body kits, and carbon fiber latched hoods....yeah-no need to explain there.... Sad part was, I was into the tuner thing. My Cav was supposed to be a custom car-but then I got to see how stupid it really is....
  17. Yep. And the Evo uses Mobil 1 too...
  18. It must be national sell your Riv month. Quite a few for sale around here..starting to wonder.... On a sad note, yeaterday I watched a 96 Riv on it's way to 'yard......
  19. As much as I like the Monte.....it's about damn time! It has reeked like the Cavalier for at least a few years now (Left to rot on vine-last real update?) Deep discounts can't move these things off the lot. Heck, some dealerships still have 2005s on the new car lots..... I wouldn't be surprised if MC's rebates almost make it Cavalier cheap (11-13 grand) Sadly, like the Cavalier-I don't think this name is coming back...it just got too badly beaten up this time around..... I will still miss the MCs though.
  20. I want! Now I need more than the nose! Can't wait until it is out!
  21. Happy B-day!

    Ebay

Sadly, I need a new beater before I get a new bike... I want a bike rack for the back-but with my wagon-I'd have to put it on top.... But I'd like something light..and with good shocks...so I could take it anywhere.... And, oh yeah-it can't be like 3 grand....
