  1. that rear end is pretty cool actually. But this is my opinion, that dash design sucks ass. Really bad. Is it 1994? My God, couldn't they have designed something for this decade? Pitiful. Shame, because those new seats look boss.
  2. repeat - the new Accord sucks. It is not at all the big to do like the f_ckheads at Car and Driver make it out to be. It's a pathetic example of bias and probably payola. I'll lay 16 trillion down right now that the new Mazda6 is a much better car than the new Accord, but the assholes at C/D will still lay claim to the Accord being sliced bread and everything more.
  3. sonic 1.4t gets good mpg i hear, like its cruze stablemate.
  4. the 4.3 / 6 would be a market failure. the twin turbo, regardless of whether it has net benefit over the v8, will be in tune with where the market is going. If GM is putting it one car, it makes sense for them to spread it throughout the variety of cars. If i was buying a Camaro, I really would take a hard look at a 3.6 OHC TT over the v8. I like the cammy sound and behavior of OHC engines. I fully expect the 2.5 to be the base engine in the alpha camaro. It would be cooler if its a 4.3 to be a small block v8 4.3
  5. if it were a sedan I would be more convinced of it's place in the world. Making it a 2 door is somewhat of a death sentence unfortunately.
  6. ELR is a hard sell. It really has no appeal as an alternate to another similarly priced lux car. It can only appeal to those who want an electric car, or a glitzier volt. I could buy a base Cayman or Boxster for probably what the ELR will sell for. Or a decent A4 or A6. That said, if it sells 5-10k units and helps pay for the volt technology it's probably ok. There are other segments GM could spend the money on right now. Or they could use that money to go to Volt stage 2.
  7. lol. GM does that all the time! why the twin turbo is going into the current camaro.....it may become a big volume unit in the alpha camaro and on the alpha ats and cts platform. this gets it into the public before it arrives in the next camaro. break the mental barrier so to speak. corvette could get this motor someday too. Lambdas would benefit. 1.6t in the encore would be perfect. i wonder if the chevy SS will get the TT also. Buick T type or grand national?
  8. alpha camaro will be 3x better than this. alpha camaro may also have 2.5l four as standard equipment.
  9. maybe it at least is on par with a mid eighties 240sx?
  10. There are still brand new 2011 9-5's out there......and some are closer to 20k than 30k.......
  11. Excellent news. Perfect for that car. I think for most folks that will be the sweet spot on that car. That also means the Cruze can continue on with the 1.8 and 1.4 and not intrude on the Verano. Although, I certainly can bet the cruze may get an engine with more pop at some point.
  12. dash plastic looks cheap. is that the case? did you try to fit in the backseat?
  13. hybrid cimarron coupe.....LOL
  14. i was always LOL the months when we almost sold more suzukis then our lincoln dealer sold lincolns.... new MKZ is pretty nice, but the interior screams, 'uplevel fusion trim package' more than anything.
  15. G6 was a good car that could have used a couple tweaks but overall much better than folks gave credit for. Hankook Optimos are on my car and i would love to get rid of them. They wear well, but as i am finding out this winter, are not great in wet / snow / slush.
  16. if it's 60k, you might as well spend more for a Tesla. I question this as a 2 door. A 2 door is hard enough sell the way it is. I think Caddy needs to watch the price here.
  17. that blue is not flattering on this car. would you drive this or a Regal GS?
  18. i've got 24 years or so of motor trend and car and driver in my basement, along with several years of other publications. it takes up about 6-8 lineal feet in my basement, in plastic bins, and currently is about 3 feet high. i have 2 years of each in a single bin and the bins are stacked. i have had similar thoughts as you. I do have them pretty organized and in decent condition. But man, they just sit there. In 15-20 years I might want to pull them out and look at them though.
  19. Cue or not, there should be redundant buttons and knobs on the dash more traditional in style so as not to confuse people so much. I have seen pictures of the non CUE interior of an ATS and I think it's laid out nicely. I like all the CUE's features and stuff but I played with one in the showroom at a Caddy dealer and the haptic feedback was so cheesy i could barely stand it. Maybe you get used to it. I also think stuff like this needs a glass screen. I'd almost rather have an ipad mini for a dash touch screen. http://www.morries.com/detail-2013-cadillac-ats-4dr_sdn_2_5l_rwd-new-9571846.html black base ATS with tan interior and standard radio
  20. wow, hardly looks new. the exterior just doesn't have any new pizazz. the interior has that same cheap, cosmicky, over the top, cheap 80's plastic handheld game look that all GM products possess to some degree, and in particular the trucks have been guilty of. GM just refuses to do a sensible, tasteful truck interior. The last gen luxury interior was maybe as close as we well ever see. Don't get me wrong. It is a little bit interesting, that dash design. But it was stretched and pulled to over the top. And I know it's just pictures and a prototype, but it doesn't look like GM is advancing interior truck material quality much if any. They really haven't changed much in their materials for many years. If there is one fix i hope GM does, is that it fixes the third row leg room problems on the suburban etc, when that comes out. I really still love the F-150, and the new Rams I like more and more all the time. This new GM truck in no way looks new. Its market arrival will not make a big splash. edit....i guess i am warming a tiny bit to the sierra's exterior.
  21. that will be a nice option. hope an 8 speed auto comes with. still, first on the list is to carve out lots more room in the backseat. all new seat designs would do it, thinner, raise the mounts out of the toe and foot space, etc. too cheap to fix it though i am guessing. the new 2.5 is a good engine though! for most folks it is fine! its specs are darn close to the 3800........
  22. great article and great pictures! the very first picture with the side view down low is so perfect! i hope they get cue straightened out, it's been maligned. i won't be able to get one. i must say, i think the non turbo base car will have some takers. me, a turbo 4 would be what i would want.
  23. but no power recline on the seat
  24. it will be interesting to see if they can sell any of them at the asking prices then.
