  1. I will give you a 2004 corvette Commemorative, A 2004 XLR (both low miles) a couple of kids, my wife, BOTH nuts (oh wait - you NEED BALLS to drive a ZR-1) I would so love that car. I will tell some people I know who may be in the market.
  2. Not to pick a fight with anyone, but don't you need CASH to hedge? GM is sorely out of that lately. I hope that something happens, because we are loosing a great platform from OZ that should be sold here and sold here NOW!
  3. I hope that this is the case...I really think Chevrolet was ALWAYS the better fit for the Holden cars than Pontiac was. The El Camino, the Sport wagon, and the Lumina/Lumina SS are all better fits next to Camaro and Corvette. I hope this happens. And GM, those built G8's sitting in OZ...send them here and lets get an aggressive program to get them moved and into the arms of a waiting public that needs to be awakened from the automotive slumber they are sitting in right now.
  4. Yeah! A Solstice Targa and a G8 GT/GXP should be instantly collectable! I am holding out hope for the G8 to move to Chevrolet as a Lumina SS or Caprice. I am really saddened by today's announcement. I had hoped to see Pontiac become a poor man's BMW and the G8 was the beginning of that. Now, it's all gone. Guess I waited too long to get my Trans Am, cause prices are going to explode now.
  5. or did they use something thinner for the frames? How long until they blame a supplier for this problem? You think they will do the same deal as the Tacoma??? (this will be just what they need as they burn through cash storing all of those cars all over the world, plus the huge price tag on the Tacoma recalls...) Needless to say: it couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of people than Toyota and thier fans.
  6. Well, you managed to get ONE sentence correct above! Couldn't resist, sorry.
  7. While I hate the guy, Obama had noting to do with this. Idiots in the GM management did. Bad decisions followed by even dumber ones doomed Pontiac and other brands years ago. My biggest complaint stems from the name changing of the cars that opened the door to cross shopping. Lesabre at Buick was a huge seller, why it became Lucerne is beyond me. But for all those people who bought a new Lesabre every year who walked into the dealer for thier new car were met with a completely new product that was foreign to them - so the shopped. Camry has been Camry forever, just like Corrolla. We had Grand Am, then G6...Cutlass became Alero...and the sales slid. You alienate your customer base and you will leave the door open for the competition. I hope you do buy the G8 GXP and it lasts you a long, long time. It is a beautiful car. I also hope that GM takes the G8 over to Chevrolet and reintroduces the Caprice line with the wagon and the four door sedan, as well as the re-birth of the El Camino. The engineering is done, the certifications are done, and I really think people will buy them in droves. A RWD, beautiful line of cars that are roomy and inexpensive compared to the BMW/Mercedes/Lexus offerings. The auto rags are practically raving over the G8 and the New Camaro is also racking up the praise...the fit is there for these cars on the Chevrolet lots.
  8. And your screen name is CaddyXLR-V? Confused. I buy GM...have a 'vette, an Escalade, a Yukon Denali and a Buick in my fleet. Never bought a Pontiac but have always wanted a T/A or Solstice - and the G8 GXP has me seriously looking at it over a Camaro SS/RS. I guess what I am saying is: Why would you not buy the same product rebadged and supported at a Chevrolet dealer? What are you going to buy if Pontiac is indeed dead? A Camry?
  9. If Pontiac dies, could the G* move over to Chevrolet as a Caprice? Or Impala SS? That would open the door for the El Camino rebirth due to the crash testing being done already for the US market and the badging and facias for the middle east (bowties) already being done. Would this NOT be a better product fit then the 'lame duck' G8 GXP that sits in a showroom amongst G5 and G6 fwd yawners? I mean, the Impala SS RWD would be a great fit next to Corvette and Camaro - throw in the El Camino and the Sportwagon (Caprice Estate wagon anyone?) and you would have a RWD line with powertrains that are both efficient and exciting to drive with ZERO development costs (they are all done/Existing cars!!!) Come on GM...give the US what we want in a car
  10. 1937 Plymouth 1955 Olds 1977 Datsun B210 (Honeybee?) aka POS
  11. I wonder if Car and Driver will be daring enough to road test the things...back in 1968, a photo of a then new Kadett was taken and run in the magazine...in a junk pile!!! This will be interesting if it works. The current marketing has not helped Opel sell well here under the Saturn banner...er, what marketing - I know!
  12. wow...not a unique line anywhere, and a pregnant dashboard design. Yuck. I don't get it, but I agree that they are at least driving the correct wheels on this one versus the DTS
  13. ....well, not really. I hate small cars...they get stuck in my tires! I am with Moltar here...give me my Escalade over one of these coffins any day. Same goes for my family. Nothing smaller than 3200 pounds for me in my driveway.
  14. I gathered a few things from your sharing: 1: You are blessed to still have your family with you. 2: Your family has a love of stationary wooden objects - aside from mom and bro, most pictures involved wood. 3: You have a very nervous insurance person. I bet each time the phone rings, they JUMP! Please be careful out there.
  15. In the immortal words of Sheriff Buford T. Justice of Texas: "OOO-Fuhhhk!" That thing ought to be a rocket! Like the styling a lot. Good luck with this one, Jeep. hope it makes it back into the line up.
  16. Really? The Enclave is selling only to blue haired ladies and old men with tennis balls mounted at the bottom of their walkers? Buick has begun pulling younger people into the fold lately, and you say this? The new LaX is beautiful and WILL bring young, import would bes into the showroom and onto the roads in a new Buick. We have freinds in Shanghai that drive Buicks, and they are absolutely beautiful cars over there and make the N.A. offerings look like crap. Buick sells a ton of cars to younger buyers overseas...if they offered the same products here, they probably would attract a younger crowd as well.
  17. I EFFING WISH!! A Mini competior that has style and drives the rear wheels with a sweet turbo four out front? Gee...prolly would not sell. I wanted one of these when they showed the concept...still do!
  18. Isn't GM partnered with SAIC to build the Buicks in China? Would this not just be ending US operations and moving production 100% off shore? I am only asking here...
  19. It pains me - BMW. Safety, and it drives the correct wheels! RWD rocks. I love the SC Cobalts - and the turbos have been bulletproof! Question: Why not cross shop a CTS against the BMW? A Certified Caddy would be a great car, and I have seen CTS-V's in the $16,990-$19,000 range. That is a hell of a car and drivetrain for Cobalt money!
  20. San Francis...enough of that article to know that I do not car to read any more of that tripe. This guy is an Import humper and an Anti-America San Fransiscan just like the lot of them...enough said. I will never spend a dime in that city/state (and not just because of the Crappy article that the guy wrote about the Camaro) just because of how they treated our armed services in that city as well as that Idiot Pelosi running our country into the ground!
  21. Not that I have ever thought that much of Lexus anythings...this is a great review and good news for GM at a time when they need it. I cannot wait to drive one and if it is this good, buy one for the wife in that exact silver as shown to match my Escalade! :smilies-38096:
  22. http://www.wheelsfsbo.com/index.php?a=2&b=1496 Check out that FIRM PRICE on this one. I don't think it is listed in the KBB for that kind of coin!
  23. What is the engine out of? Bel Air Power Pak? Corvette? Could be worth coin if someone was looking for thier motor!
