  1. The Lolcat one is awesome.
  2. This is one of those cases where it pays to have a diverse portfolio of vehicles. Luckily for Detroit, they have a deverse lineup of excellent trucks/larger vehicles. They just have to make sure that they get all of the cars up to snuff so they can be ready for fluctuating demand. Of course what also needs to happen is the ability for people to actually get credit. Thing is that once the economy eventually recovers, gas will go right back up.
  3. Nice, only oen better is processed Chinese.
  4. We started Xmas Shopping last week. Since money is tight as always, we've been carefully planning out how much to spend each week so as to (theoretically) have everything in time for Xmas. So far so good.
  5. Sounds good to me.
  6. It's a hell of a lot better than mine. It's a Kodak EasyShare C513. All it has going for it is that t was cheap. It takes pictures barely better than my 1.3 megapixel cell phone. I'm hoping to get this for Xmas: Canon PowerShot SX10 IS Here's hoping!
  7. Where' the chat feature go?
  8. dressing
  9. I think the higher-ups in the banks are grossly overpaid. There is mental skill involved dealing with a lot of money and numbers, but as we've seen, they've been doing it very poorly, or very well to benefit themselves and screw over the res of us. Case in point for overpaid: The CEO of Citigroup apparently has made over 200 million so far this year, whereas the combined yearly salaries of the Big 3's CEO's is less than million.
  10. Well granted they have made mistakes, there's no getting around that. The UAW thing...they did negotiate concessions during the last contract, but obviously it was not enough. They may make more than a non-union plat, I don't know either, but I think it's the legacy costs such as healthcare (especially to the thousands of retired employees) and the job bank that drags them down. Problem is that it's hard for GM and the rest of Detroit to negotiate more concessions because the UAW is only willing to give up so much (deserved or not), and they can and do strike if they aren't happy. I certainly think they should be paid enough to make a living, as it is still a lot of work, even if it's routine...it's way more work than any banker ever does. However the bigger issue, especially with Congress and a lot of people, is they ignore the economical cars, the much improved quality and reliability and so on. They accuse Detroit of building gas guzzling, unreliable trucks when people were buying them, yet ignore the fact that other companies like Toyota and Nissan jumped on the bandwagon too. They think that Detroit still only builds gas guzzlers. Sure, Detroit does have some blame, as they should have put equal emphasis on cars and trucks, but they are now and have been for several year, yet it's ignored. That's my :twocents:
  11. Sorry dude, I guess it's just the way your words came across to me. It's just so frustrating that so many people seem to think that it's alright to bail out the banks, who are the main reason for the economic mess we are in, who aren't being demanded to cut salaries, restructure, or anything, but the automakers are unworthy of a small chunk of that money to survive the economic downturn. So many people seem to think that it's there own fault and caught up on stereotypes of 20 years ago, thinking they still apply today (this includes Congress). Not saying that you view it that way, just frustration mistakenly vented at you. Didn't mean to go off on you like that, so my apologies.
  12. I'm hoping for a new camera for Xmas.
  13. And last but not least, the Intrepid, post wash.
  14. Next up is the Prizm
  15. So my plans for today were pretty much canceled, and since it was actually pretty nice out (50 degrees) I took the opportunity to give the cars a good interior cleaning, and my car a much needed washing. Enjoy! Up first is the GM. The steering wheel and driver's door have been really dirty since the day we bought the car. Finally, I spent the time cleaning the surfaces of the interior. Makes a huge difference I think.
  16. Very nice photos BV.
  17. Chrysler is working on new vehicles, which includes the new LY cars that will get better fuel economy, 8-speed automatics, and the all-new Phoenix V6 engines. The Phoenix series will replace all of Chrysler's other V6 engines, and be one of the most advanced engines in the world. Project D is going ahead, and they have a deal with Nissan to get a small, sub-Caliber car for the US market. There's also one of the 3 EVs which they plan to get to market, as well as redesigns of the Durango and GC (which will share a common platform). Please, do some research before spewing out garbage. It saves the rest of us the time to correct you.
  18. Well, if they don't blow $200,000 or so on a vacation the day after they get the money (if they ever do), they're already doing better with our money than the banks Congress is so eager to hand money out to.
  19. Meh, I actually prefer the Unlimited.
  20. When the hell was this done? I never saw it until today! 5 4 1
