Ford @ NAIAS: Lincoln MKT Touring Vehicle Concept
Intrepidation replied to mustang84's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)I like it except for the boat tail. It reminds me of the Quest, which is not good. Make it more upright and it's be a winner. I love the grills on the concepts, it's bold and states that Lincoln is tired of blending in with the crowd.

California Seeks Thermostat Control
Nothing like trying to control people's freedom of ambient temperature in their own homes. One more reason to hate California.

Chrysler working on emergency overhaul of Avenger & Sebring interiors
Back to the interiors.... Based on the new Ram, I'd say there's hope that they can pull off something nice, I just hope it's no longer blocky in their cars...blocky designs are for trucks. I also hope they fix the roofline of the Avenger and do A LOT with the exterior of the Sebring...although both could benefit from a longer wheelbase (more like the Journey's) but that's probably too much for an MCE.

New Pilot
Intrepidation replied to regfootball's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)I believe both C&D and edmunds noted that the CTS materials were above that of the Mercedes and Infiniti, but I can't say for myself because I haven't sat in any of them.

Chrysler working on emergency overhaul of Avenger & Sebring interiors
My family has owned Chrysler's for generations with only the occasion GM product, which my grandparents told me they had bad experiences with. The Chrysler's my immediate family have owned have been good to us for the most part.

NAIAS: Fisker Karma, Hybrid Sports Sedan
Intrepidation replied to Cory Wolfe's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)The only thing I don't like is the grill, which as PCS said, looks like it's smiling at you. Otherwise it's gorgeous. I'm not sure about the interior.

New Pilot
Intrepidation replied to regfootball's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)I think the new CTS' interior is fabulous and the auto journalists all seem to acknowledge it. I've yet to see a complaint about the interior of the CTS, and it is consistently rated better than the new C-Class, the G35 (which is consistently rated as the least luxurious among it's peers). In fact, some of the comparisons rate it better, or at least more inviting, than the IS' interior, and more inviting than the 3-Series.

Toyota @ NAIAS '08 Venza Crossover
Intrepidation replied to bowtie_dude's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)After looking at it more I don't like it at all. The greenhouse and side glass look good and have potential but the rest is ruined by Toyota's need to design blobs. Everything looks bulbous and the thing looks like it's about to burst at the seams...like it just ate a Corolla.

Volkswagen @ NAIAS - Passat CC
Tail lights look like they were inspired by the Sebring, but done better, and from the side it looks kind of like a squished Intrepid. I do like it though.

2009 Toyota Venza - it's a Buick
This thing wishes it was as good looking as the Enclave.

GM @ NAIAS '08: Saturn Flextreme Concept
Intrepidation replied to Chris_Doane's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)Front end seems so clean it's almost featureless.Looks cool overall, but I like the Verve better.

Intrepidation replied to regfootball's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)Seems Honda likes the new Liberty so much they'd use it for inspiration and just round off the edges. Overall it's not bad until you get to the front end. The face is weird and creepy looking like something out of a weird anime. It's not pretty at all. The interior is kind of cool and funky, something I like about Honda's interiors, but the it seems that they once again were inspired by Chrysler and this time mimicked the Caravan's shifter placement.- Change of plans for Dodge Demon
Oh dear gods no. That's a horrible idea. Just leave it as a concept if that's what they're gonna do to it. Bad enough to be FWD, worse to be Chinese sourced. Why even consider one with the Sky/Solstice and MX5? Couldn't they have asked GM or Ford/Mazda to share platforms?- So I want to buy a Jaguar
It's in really nice shape, go for it Fly.- Chrysler working on emergency overhaul of Avenger & Sebring interiors
We can go on and on about how Chrysler has turned out various piles of crap in the past but let's not forget GM and Ford have done the same as well.- Ford @ NAIAS 2008: North American Ford Verve Concept
Intrepidation replied to thegriffon's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)I really like this car. best looking small car concept or production vehicle I've seen, with nice proportions too. Interior is funky but cool. I do wish they'd build it without changing a thing. But this is Ford, and the NA version will probably look like a cross between a Focus and a SuperDuty- Dream Car Lineup?
I can't just have one, so here are my ties for most wanted Supercar: Dodge Viper SRT10 and Lamborghini Reventón Sportscar: Chevrolet Camaro SS or whatever it may be called, Dodge Challenger SRT8, Saleen Mustang relicated to look like Barricade from Transformers Sports Sedan: Dodge Charger SRT-8 and Pontiac G8 GXP Luxury Sedan: '09 Cadillac CTS-V or Jaguar XF-R Luxury Coupe: Jaguar XKR, Aston Martin DB9 Family Vehicle: Saturn Outlook XR, Dodge Journey R/T Chrysler Pacifica Limited. Boeing XB-38 Bell XP-59 Airacomet- 2009 Ram Revealed
I love the Sport...I like the single piece bumper versus the other model's two piece unit. It looks very clean. The more I see it the more I like the monotone paint as opposed to the two tone paint. If I could get the Laramie's 2 tone interior with the Sport model I'd be all set...and the money of course :3 Wheels look great too.- 2009 Ram Revealed

Styling is subjective and also it alternates between whose get the better styling. `57-`59 Mopars had looked better than much of the competition at the time IMO. History tends to repeat itself in that the late mid to late 90's into 2005 or so Chrysler was again the styling leader in many respects IMO. LH cars, LX cars (compared with the ugly then boring Impala, the hideous last Malibu and the boring one before that), previous Dakota, and so on. Styling is subjective, but we can all agree that every company has it's highs and lows of automotive design, except maybe Honda and Toyota...which never really had many highs.- 2009 Ram Revealed
You're quite blind then. The more I see the Chevy less I like it. I still like it and would rate it above the Tundra and titan, but it looks busy in back and the front looks somewhat overwrought with the massive chrome grill. The HD versions are much worse though.Although it looks better with a monotone front end. The Sierra looks a lot better IMO. I wasn't sure about the exterior at first but after seeing more photos of it on allpar I like it a lot. I'm looking forward to some hi-res photos. I like how the Crew Cab is more manageable in size and looks far better proportioned, but that the Quad Cab model sticks around and has regular doors. - New Pilot
