I'm having a tough time even doing THAT. I've decided I don't really want a Charger ... even though I always try to rent them for my road trips. I just don't think I'd be happy "down the line" with it. Maybe I would ... but ... it ... is ... not ... a Chevy. *sighs* Definitely not in the market for a brand new car ... so the Camaro is out ... even though that'd be perfect ... RWD, coupe. So, right now ... looking at a '77 Caprice Classic ... sedan ... vs ... '06 LUMontecarloINA LT .... coupe. '77 is RWD, but it's a sedan. '06 is a coupe, but it's FWD ... and not what Chevy claims it is. Arg. I've considered the G8, but I'm not sure. As I noted, I'm not in the market for a brand new car...and the used ones I've found around here ... not close to what I want. So, we'll see.... Good ... glad you will still be here. I really enjoy your posts, even though I don't always reply. And, of course, watching the progress of your projects is amazing, too. Can't say I feel EXACTLY the way you do, but the last few years, starting in about 1994/1995, I've increasingly been frustrated with GM, Ch#$r%*et in particular. I keep thinking things will turn around ... and I see glimpses it might happen (i.e. Camaro) ... but, at the same time, all too many reminders of the progression they've taken as of late. *shrugs* If nothing else, it will be interesting to see what transpires in the coming months ... and years (hopefully). I can't quite tell ... is that blue interior? If so ... I had a friend in college in the mid-1990s who had one just about exactly like that. He had had a brown '78 or '79 Cutlass ... that literally died on him. So, he picked up a white w/blue interior '88 Cutlass ... awesome car. Since I have received a few comments about my observation of "The Hill" area (not being comfortable about parking my '87 MC LS/CL there) ... namely that it is one of the better areas of STL ... thought I'd better clarify, even though that observation was one small sentence in the entire post! My observation is NOT based on ME feeling or not feeling safe in the area, nor was it based on a feeling that it was a high crime area. My observation IS based on the narrow streets with parking on both sides. Heck, my rental car almost was sideswiped by others at least three times shortly after I parked it, and some cars were FLYING through that area. I can only imagine how I would've felt if that was my '87 MC LS/CL almost getting sideswiped.... Sorry, that is just not a comfortable feeling for me ... in ANY area. Oh, yes. My former '88 MC LS ... "Silver Bullet". I bought it in 1994 because my '79 MC's bumper was rusting off ... literally ... and I figured it would take TOO much money to fix it. Then, in 1996, when I got the '79 back out of storage ... and had the bumper fixed ... at a price that was too damn affordable ... the '88 started nickeling and diming me ... and I wasn't going to take the "sibling rivarly". So, I finally sold it in January 1997. Now ...
