He had had a brown '78 or '79 Cutlass ... that literally died on him. So, he picked up a white w/blue interior '88 Cutlass ... awesome car. Since I have received a few comments about my observation of "The Hill" area (not being comfortable about parking my '87 MC LS/CL there) ... namely that it is one of the better areas of STL ... thought I'd better clarify, even though that observation was one small sentence in the entire post! My observation is NOT based on ME feeling or not feeling safe in the area, nor was it based on a feeling that it was a high crime area. My observation IS based on the narrow streets with parking on both sides. Heck, my rental car almost was sideswiped by others at least three times shortly after I parked it, and some cars were FLYING through that area. I can only imagine how I would've felt if that was my '87 MC LS/CL almost getting sideswiped.... Sorry, that is just not a comfortable feeling for me ... in ANY area. Oh, yes. My former '88 MC LS ... "Silver Bullet". I bought it in 1994 because my '79 MC's bumper was rusting off ... literally ... and I figured it would take TOO much money to fix it. Then, in 1996, when I got the '79 back out of storage ... and had the bumper fixed ... at a price that was too damn affordable ... the '88 started nickeling and diming me ... and I wasn't going to take the "sibling rivarly". So, I finally sold it in January 1997. Now ... I know it's weird ... and perhaps a bit over the top ... but this is kinda intriguing to me. Can't explain why. I just wish I would've been able to been there when it was pulled out. He had one of these for a brief time; I was lucky enough to be at his house when he had it. VERY cool. LOL! That's fine, Camino ... I won't hold it against you.
