  1. ATS is not "too small"- as you point out, it's within an inch of the c-class. MB made the cut-rate & cut-priced CLA too large- it's only 2 inches shorter than the c-class, but the rear seat in uninhabitable. Should have only been a coupe. Its a foregone conclusion that it should have been a coupe.. or rather a four-door coupe like the vehicle tried to emulate, the CLS. Try getting in to the rear of the CLA or CLS.. and I guarantee U get out wit a f@#ked up neck.. In all fairness, I'm only 5'8" and when I sat in the back of an ATS my head was within an inch of the roof(which has a cut out for head space). My back seat space issue with the ATS wasn't knee/leg room(probably because of the 5'8"-ness) it was actually head room. For me, it was "okay", but I know I'm on the shorter/average end of the spectrum and not all of my friends and family that would possibly ride in the back are the same or shorter. In all fairness I was talking about the CLA.. AND the CLS.. the larger vehicle too. Again.. I could care less how the ride if for passengers outside of my kids.. but if someone is gonna use rear seat room as a demerit for CAddy.. they damn sure better be ready for it to be used against their POS favorite Kraut brand
  2. Which sucks.. Its like passing on your wife who's ambitious.. great worker.. for the neighbor's wife.. who is mediocre at best... for a job at your business. The money leaves your household, while the neighbor gets to use the new found income to make his house more valuable than yours. America!!! WAKE UP!!!

  4. Thing is that Cadillac certainly has its issues but at least they are trying.. and the efforts they are putting out 90% of the time are absolutely excellent. Their issue is truly gauging a market segment that they have never tried in their 100+ history. Engineering-wise they are spot on.. marketing is the issue. Having the new blood like UWE and JDN is a boost, but the current products out were in the works when Wagoner was running things. Either way.. POS haters like U better hope that Cadillac doesn't get its marketing act together like Chevy has.. De Nysschen is right. 100% right. The thing that has actually held Cadillac back is that it allowed the brand to be dictated by the traditional buyers instead of dictating the direction of the traditional buyers. There simply is no growth in playing to the same buyers who once enjoyed driving sofas down the road. Buick example of growth without having to continue to be the "Retirement Home" chariot. They shed their traditional buyers and sought new demographics. They have seen year over year growth as a result. Cadillac must do the same. Once the forefront leader in all things luxury, they are without a doubt the one brand sides Mercedes that actually have the heritage to pull it off. If losing the bargain luxury shopper is the way of bringing in even more affluent buyers. why would they balk at that? Truth is GM has quite frankly the best opportunity in the market to truly offer a real luxury brand. Mercedes, BMW and Lexus have fundamentally blurred lines between what is a what isn't luxury. For example, at some point S-Class buyers will be sitting in the same service bay as CLA buyers. Those are the same CLA buyers that bought the car because it was a luxury name put on a basic "Nissan Sentra" with a Sentra price. The executives will be essentially sharing their aspirational car with, not even their management teams.. or even their factory workers.. but the cleaning crew. Cadillac can, and has the luxury, excuse the pun, to be autonomous from the lower ranks because it has not just Chevy to bridge the gap with upper LTZ models, but Buick and GMC. Mercedes, BMW, and Lexus can not do that and stay the course of luxury. As more and more "bottom feeders" buy the CLA, more and more sales of the real luxo makes will fall off the charts. This will also effect the ML once the GLA is introed. Mark my words. At BMW a similar thing will happen.. I can admit that Cadillac DEFINITELY still has work to do in expanding it's line-up but lets not get it twisted... the ATS, XTS and new CTS are not the MODERN Cadillac's first vehicles to bridge the gap.. Cadillac is not purpose but it does have existing tech and platforms that can do the job in getting it into a solid position in Tier 1.
  5. LOok.. the fact that the ATS is still getting kudos for SOMETHING 4 years after the intro is admirable.. but I will agree that its ready for a follow up. I think this time.. after seeing the things that GM listened to in relation to the.. yup.. Malibu.. they are more than up to the task of supplying the market with a vehicle that is not only a 3series beater in terms of handling and weight, but packaging WITHOUT losing those advantages. I don't kno how many times it has to be said.. or whether or not this small community of so-called enthusiasts remember a SIMPLE.. FACT.. but the CADILLAC ATS.. was designed in 2006-2007 and was supposed to launch around the second year of the Gen II CTS. In fact.. if memory serves me correct.. the original idea was to simply downsize the Sigma platform.. which was a rework of ZETA.. and make the ATS out of that.. but that was deemed too heavy. Either way.. we all kno what happened in 2007-2009 and the plans were killed. ATS didn't come out til late '12 and here we are. What's the hell is the issue now? CT3 will be out for 2018. New car.. new packaging.. new dash.. new engines. Personally.. I think instead of sitting here sparring with SMK about how much better a effin CLA is over the (actually 8 year old) ATS we should be looking towards the future. The CLA is one of the weakest cars I've ever had the displeasure of driving. I did so on a bet.. that I lost. Fact is that the Buick Verano Turbo.. no.. the Chevy Cruze... NO.. the Sonic.. is a better car. I could see more people turned off from Benz after the CLA experience. ATS (CT3) will have be, most likely, the same size in exterior dimensions but magically have lighter weight, and a bigger interior. Styling will take on the more fluid design of El Miraj and Ciel mixed. BET!!! The engines.. considering Cadillac is seemingly going forced induction.. I wouldn't be surprised if the 2.0L and 3.0L are the main engines, but the 3.6L may still be a middle man. I would expect the 3.0L may actually get a detune to take its place tho.. say about 360HP and the continued use of the LF4 for the VSeries but obviously more power.
  6. What's interesting is the pull back from C&D after all these years of complaining about the rear seat room. What changed. Did Cadillac make a change.. or did reviewers finally get back there and not just copy and paste from some pro-BMW reviewers article? and the last point about sales.. and how IDIOTIC it is for people to have believed that Cadillac's first real effort in the ACTUAL segment would topple the 3 Series.
  7. Honestly.. I could care less how comfy someone is in my car.. if they have that much of an issue sitting back there.. they can get their asses out and walk. f@#k 'em
  8. I concur. The CTS-V's LT4 simply put.. has power down low and keeps gaining and gaining as U push down the pedal. Cadillac also did a fantastic job at mapping the throttle to assist in this. What makes it even more fantastic is that U can still ride around in this car (in Touring Mode) and with all of that power at your beckon call.. and never feel like things are going to get out of hand if some idiot in a Mustang GT realizes what U have,, and starts reving his engine. U can beat the $h! out of him..and never once have gone past the half way mark blipping pedal. I've done this with out any wheel spin as well. Quite remarkable, and if the car was AWD.. land lighter using the Omega platform.. U would see under 2.8 second 0-60 times all day long I mean seriously.. the numbers speak for themselves.. and only a Ford or Foreign car lover would try to argue that the Pushrod.. a technically newer design than OHC, is some how inferior. BTW.. if U guys get one to test.. try the Launch control function.. it is quite easy to use and simply requires U put her in Track mode.. hold the brake firm.. push the pedal to 1500 and then release.. awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay U go
  9. Yes. Pretty much it needs to stop being 'special' and just embrace mainstream. The Malibu Hybrid is tops.. the CT6 will be as well. Volt is getting rave reviews.. and there really is zero reason why the tech is not employed in a "tall wagon" (read CUV) at this point. Betting good money that a Equinox, XT5, Terrain, Encore.. with Voltec would do very well for GM.
  10. Things that held the ELR back: 1) Price possibly, but 2) No Sunroof. Seriously? In a car that looks like this.. sold to greenies with money (obviously) in California.. No Sunroof? 3) Its a sports car config. The backseat, like that in a 911 is a joke. 4) No advertising after "Poolside." None. Nada. If costs vs return is the issue.. be like most luxo manufacturers and have a all-inclusive marketing campaign that shows all the models at once. Heck. Take page from Chevy. Their ad has everything from Cruze to Z06 in it. 5) Preach leasing! $1999 at lease with $599-699 per month. Why are people looking at the PRICE anyway unless its a collector car? The tech will continuously evolve.. buying an EV in today's market will in teh next few years be kno different than buying an iPhone or Galaxy. Every 6 months!!! Upgrade. Bottom line is that the ELR at $75K was fine IF Cadillac only wanted to sell them to niche buyers. They didn't. They FAILED to sell the intended 3000 (last year about 1/2 of that) units annually because they did nothing to market this car after "Poolside" went viral and let's be honest, its a 2-seater (eff the back seat in any of these sports coupes/Verts from Cadillac to Benz), it has no sunroof, which is insane considering the market for this car would seemingly be the well-to-do, Silicon Valley, greenie types who love to show up in something sexy that lets's their hair blow around in the wind. This car.. THIS CAR.. should have been a sub-ATS sports car, with a convertible roof or sunroof having coupe, with a TT 2.0L 270HP and 350HP VSeries version, and ta hell with EV. The Voltec should have gone in the XTS. The XTS, with Voltec would have made sense. The XTS with Voltec would have added numbers in the realm of what Tesla sell because it would be in a car that could actually seat 5, maybe 6, with a trunk that could house a bunch of Golf Clubs. Anyway, the CT6 Hybrid rights this wrong. The ELR, will return in a proper form, and a different name. I'm thinking CT7. The CT6, with 335 hp and 432 lb-ft of torque, not to mention light weight will be pretty refreshing
  11. and after this.. if it happens, considering Sergio's desire to 'hook-up'.. who will call Chrysler an AMERICAN company still? I currently see them as foreign.. this will solidify that
  12. Ummmm……. I don't see it as an issue at all because at this price level the car is custom made to exactly what I want and if I got in it and there were all sorts of misalignment issues I'd just tell them to do it again and pick it up in a few weeks and in the mean time I'd be rolling around in my last gen Maybach. and U are correct in saying that if U wanted that way.. U should be able to buy it that way. I would say the same if Cadillac offered this. Its your choice. But don't push that $h! as the epitome of luxurious. It is a limited few who see it as such. To the misalignment issues .. Dude.. the Internet goes CRAZY if a PRE-PRODUCTION SRX (and GM told Motor Trend that it was back in '09) shows up with less misalignment issues in a first drive pic.. but the $300K+ Maybach gets a pass in a Promo-Pic?
  13. As much as it pains me to indulge in this particular conversation.. with this particular poster.. here goes.. NO.. NO... equating a styling element from the 1980s.. 30+ years later to Benz stealing Cadillac's "traits" is ridiculous. Or better yet.. one can be lavish, excessive, and even arrogant, without being Donald Trump GAUDY. Real elements of style tend to transcend the necessity of being tacky to show opulence. The Escalade commercial was about being bold.. not garish. About the evolving trends of luxury.. thru the times.. not about being stuck in the 70s and 80s. As cool as the interior of the Brougham was.. for the time.. I would not buy that style in a modern car today. It may be custom.. but it still looks old and tacky.
  14. Access to markets that are currently limited for Nissan. Platform sharing. I bet Mitsubishi pulls out of the US in the very near future to focus on Asian markets like Suzuki and Daihatsu did. ^^^ This. The Mitsu name is all but $h! here in the U.S. with exception to the EVO lovers, but that car is done. Nissan just gained entry into a bunch of markets it has failed to penetrate even with the might of Renault/Nissan behind it. This would effectively.. if the numbers are all inclusive put Renault/Nissan in the 9-10 Million sales annual. My only question is whether Mitsu will be building cars for the revived Datsun?
  15. That pic was digitally cleaned up. Here's the untouched original : Game still very much on. Whatever car this is out of I don't care because it looks ballin as F. Meet the Baller.. and his taste in homes
  16. That pic was digitally cleaned up. Here's the untouched original : Game still very much on. $300K and more misalignment than a lowered Porsche 911 just coming off the rock trail
  17. Except of course by my '94 Oldsmobile which also had wiper blades that dispensed washer fluid... Not from 20 holes inside the blade. I'll take the CT6's 360-degree Triggered Video Recording that automatically activates in a crash or break-in, and first twin-turbo powerplant to offer cylinder deactivation over the washer fluid coming out of different holes
  18. Game over if ugly and tackey is your idea of Luxury. and why do suddenly feel like taking a shower? That looks like the inside of the Best Lil Whorehouse in Bangladesh
  19. Smk??? Is that Smk???
  20. Whether they are production shots or not is irrelevant as they are all done that way (referring to the three I posted). Again, they rest of what you are saying is purely opinion based while you try to pas it off as fact. But it does get beaten in luxury. Whether by the slimmest of margins in the base S550 versus the designo interior option that elevates the S-Class. Wait... didn't you just bang on someone for using a rendered picture? I couldn't find what I thought looked exactly like the configurator Drew. So I'm not sure that's the base model that you have posted. Everywhere else the CT6 is top notch. The car is truly engineered as a proper Cadillac. I seriously am trying to find one glaring example of where the S550 is so superior based on this picture alone.. let lone real experience in the S550 vs the CT6. Furthermore the issues U have with the CT6 interior.. are addressed in the vehicles such as the CTS-V and Escalade that have a base price above it. Again.. FULL OF $h!
  21. coming from someone who has says that the S550.. S550.. S550's interior is on par with the Phantom's... or Bentley Conti's.. I piss on any words coming from your mouth saying something is "veritable." and also.. my CTS-V interior makes that S550 interior look weak
  22. IMO... and after being in both.. the Cadillac interior comes off as not only looking more quality but also richer, with a few minor things in favor of the Benz.. The CT6 P, in my opinion, is on par with the S-Class with exception to a few little things that STILL don't justify a $10K price difference. It reeally is the same argument someone could make between the 911 Carar and the Corvette. Some things are just perception.. and admittedly perception is in Benz's favor right now. Personally I see zero about them to justify a $10K price difference in these two cars.. and I challenge anyone to pull up in either, as the average luxury buyer which costs the most based on the interior.. and not get an answer that goes in favor of the Americans. Of course I don't judge a luxury car based solely on the leather on the Airbag cover.. but the who package.
