  1. The article from Automobile ultimately says it's not a night and day difference though with the large luxo-barges as it should be. Oh? That wasn't my takeaway Most likely, it's just the suspension tuning on the platinum model. The PHEV drive train will have 335 hp: http://www.hybridcars.com/gm-highlights-tech-details-for-its-quick-efficient-cadillac-ct6-phev/ IMO, this drive system should target those who want quiet delivery of lots of low end torque along with an interior that is luxurious. I think this is partially the case.. the thing is that at the price point the PHEV must come in at.. the amenities will have to be upped a bit to justify the price further.
  2. How well engineered was the Ciel?? The ElMiraj?? I ask because putting a car body on a particular chassis, without issue, is not as easy as one may think. At what point was it not made clear that they were both styling exercises to usher in .. well new styling? The Ciel is the concept car of what the CT6, XT5, Escalade.. and CTS, f would look like, sans the convertible top. The ElMiraj is the next phase.. unless the new head of Global Design changes something. AND HOLD THE HELL UP!!! Are U telling me that U believe that the S550.. because that's what I've been saying all along (not the S63 or S65) has an interior on par with the RR Ghost.. or the Bentley Continental??? Have U ever been in any of the three.. in recent years??? Dude.. just U're done
  3. NO.. what it is the fact that in reality the S-Class and 7Series are not as far out in the galaxy as some who have very little time in that would believe. People create mental blockages based on what is the accepted or time-honored norm. Thus no car will be as great as the M5 despite the fact that several cars kick the living $h! out it in more ways than just performance.. or the Germans are the epitome of handling yet.. we all actually no its BULL$h! in 2016.. yet we still say it. I take an AWD 403HP TTV6 standard car costing $83K put it up against a RWD 449HP TTV8 standard car costing $10K more.. and the thing that some fool comes at me with as a reason why the S-Class is better is because of a few trinkets on the interior feel less refined. Its as if that idiot forgot.. its $10K less. The issues aren't even $10K less in worth.. $1000 most at that. No they are not. Which baffles people as to why Cadillac cannot do the simple things of ensuring complete dominance. Why spent billions on the Omega platform, and then cut costs on the interior? That's the question they haven't answered. With the CT8 being up in the wind, it won't be answered for quite a while. The first thing, before people even drive the car, is sit inside and take a long look. The CT6 Platinum TTV6 is not the end of the line for the CT6, let alone the CT6+ and ++. Hey Cadillac.. what U should have done is push out the CT6 TTV8, CT7, and CT8 at the same time as U launched the rest of the CT6. U kno.. while U are still showing and proving. Ain't nothing better than putting out the best car in the world while not everyone is looking.
  4. Of course the first question I'd ask is if they do all those things.. will U ante up the base price of $90K to buy one? Doubt it.. for a bunch of reasons, but mostly because U are full of $h!. The CT6 is an S-Class competitor where it counts.. and for someone to say that it can't compete because of a few minor details, when the $25K+ price difference is brought into play is ridiculous and quite frankly stupid. (The last part because I think U suck.. and U are a f@#kin blowhard.) The V8 availability... is the only thing U say that has any validity. The interesting part is that my top of the line CTS has as nice of an interior as the S-Class, and addresses the issues in the interior of the less expensive CT6 that U speak. But alas.. there is the solution, and the issue; Should Cadillac had come right out the box with CTS-V (read $10K-35K more) type amenities in a car that had to prove itself.. or waited one year and put out a new V8 encased in the car that was on the market already SHOWING AND PROVING? Insulting me won't win you any points. I think many Cadillac fans are ultimately blind as to how the firm can actually capture people who don't like the firm. The only thing that would make tehm show respect is complete dominance, even in the interior. I love Cadillac. But it's stupid people who think Cadillac has bottled lightning that need to realize the most advanced chassis in the world won't save them from ultimate scrutiny over the interior. That and before JD came in it was promised it would defy all critics. The price difference isn't the point, genius. I want Cadillac to CHARGE MORE. (READ THAT AGAIN) CHARGE MORE THAN MERCEDES, and while matching or exceeding that interior. And it can't even match it, at any price or trim level. Your top of the line CTS does not have as nice an interior as an S-Class. Damn well an Audi A6 is better. And no, you're opinion ain't worth jack $h!, because Cadillac should NEVER be a value for money company. They should just be the standard that no one can beat. It's that kind of thinking, that will lead Cadillac to success. But they have to have the best of everything. I think a separate engine family is just politically driven, has no basis if they judge the merits of their premium V8 already used in the Escalade. And anyhow, there's a huge marketing gamble, when someone proclaims their product to be world best but then charges bargain basement prices for it. Everyone knows that. Insulting U is my sport of the today.. cause its raining geni.. no jack-ass. The idea in your head that charging more means best shows me that U really are naive. What makes it worse is that in your mind having the more advanced chassis in the world is second to having a leather cap over the airbag. Personally I would have no issue at all if the already stellar Alpha chassis under my CTS was given up for the, by your own admission, most advanced chassis in the world sitting under the CT6.. and all I had to do is give up.. the leather cap on my steering while and take a rubberized one.

  7. The thing is that there are plenty of "luxury" vehicles avail currently that use FWD over RWD . The XTS, ES350, A6, Lacrosse, MKS, MKS, upcoming Continental, and even the Impala LTZ (tell me its not a luxury vehicle simply because of the name and a thousand lil angels will instantly call U a fool)to name a bunch. RWD is not the epitome of luxury.. in fact one could argue that in reality.. true luxury is AWD. "If it Ain't RWD... It Ain't worth driving", "RightWD"... etc.. WTF IS WRONG WITH U PEOPLE??? Why are so many of U guys hung up on RWD as the saving grace for all performance oriented cars??? I have a real issue with this especially concerning Luxury and mainstream vehicles. The truth is LARGE-LUXO cars should ALL BE AWD all the time. There is no plausible reason why they wouldn't be in fact. They have the price tag to seemingly have customers demand that they show up with all the goods... especially advanced drive-line engineering. I have yet to see anyone out at the track with an S-Class, XJ, 7Series/B7, LS460, or A8/S8. Not even the AMG versions. It's actually preposterous when U think of it. The average buyer of these cars is normally in the $150K annual income ($250K household) demographic, and age is normally about 55+.. unless it's a USED car. With the exception Bob Lutz.. I dunno that many guys above that age that are out at the track in their Exec Saloon. Hell it's hard enuff finding an M5 or CTS-v at the track. People with the means to own a $60-100K+ car would have the means to buy a purpose built track car if need be. 95% of the car buyers don't know a thing about platforms. I'm a "car guy" and with the exception of GM and some BMWs I have almost no clue what the other makers are using under which vehicle. What matters to me is ultimately performance, prestige, and comfort in a vehicle such as this. And that perplexes me on so many levels as to why VW gets a way with providing Audi and Lamborghini with FWDAWD-Only cars. Now don't misconstrue... I am not an advocate of FWD, but I recognize that it better suits the driving ability of that 95% I mentioned above. For some reason I find, more often than not, on these forums that many forum goers feel that limitation of choice is the desire of most Luxury buyers. As a luxury buyer I whole-heartedly would like to disagree with that notion. Marketing should certainly steer buyers in the direction of the AWD version for profit reasons, not to mention performance credibility, but the majority of buyers of say.. an RX or SRX-type vehicle is female, the crossover segment is predominately female, this is the gender that actually created the need for the V6 in a Camaro/Mustang. The segment does not demand super performance. This is the same for the large saloon class as well though. What it does demand is luxury, styling, and envy. The XTS still, IMO, should be AWD for marketing purposes. That is the absolute only reason the Audi A8 sells AWD-only here, yet offers a FWD version in Europe. Americans are too stuck on what they perceive as high-class as opposed to what is. It's stressful. ##################################### “If I’d have asked my customers what they wanted, they would have told me ‘A faster horse." 8. I'm seeing it... I may reboot the server in a moment if it continues Thanks. I went so far as to use a different browser
  9. I could see it. The 300, technically, doesn't need to be RWD anyway considering its not really considered a performance car. BTW.. Am I the only one experiencing any lag when posting? Mine says "Saving" for like 60 seconds.. I then click out of it and it is posted.. but it just seems to take a while. Similar thing happened at MT Forum
  10. Learned this on my first outing with CUE in an Escalade. Once I learned that the silver slivers with simply "markers" denoting where the sensor was.. I never had an issue again. Coincidentally.. my almost 16 year old daughter, upon her first time getting in my V.. having never used CUE before.. turns the headset on.. pairs her phone.. "cues up" Spotify.. slides her finger across the volume sensor.. and commences in blaring Beyonce. It was of no never-mind to her that OLD PEOPLE had had trouble enough figuring out CUE that it screwed Cadillac ranking in JD Power's issues per vehicle report last year. Her only words before me telling her to turn it down was; "Slick..."
  11. Funny you call it weirdly proportioned. $h! man, even I admit I'm a General Moron (in fact, I am a "Sir" General Moron, but do you really have to try to beat me at it?!! Dude.. U don't even register half the time. I just think your tastes suck.. and that Jag looks about as "money" or "sexy" as a ham sandwich. Not to mention the design is OLD. It looks older in fact, to me, than the real XJ it replaced. The one that looked like it was designed specifically for the wealth jet-setter. This one looks like it was designed by the same guy who designed the 2010 Lincoln MKS This was a Jag XJ
  12. The CT6? No.. I have sat in and messed around with one, but my dealer hasn't gotten one and my other dealer with one is about 40 minutes away. I have considered riding down there, but feared I'd get there.. see a White Diamond CT6 Platinum.. and end up trading Rose in on the spot. As for the interior of the S-Class and 7 Series. They are, in their customized forms, a step above the Cadillac's BUT ONLY in customized trim. If U get into a normal S550, for instance, U will see that the CT6 Plat. is not only on par with it in terms of materials and design, but possibly rivals it.
  13. I agree with U CCap.. .the CT6 is effin SEXY. Sexy as f@#k. Personally I think the CT6 makes the 7Series, S-Class, A8, LS460, and especially the weirdly proportioned Jag XJ look like yesterday's fish wrapper.
  14. That's about as cheery as a churchyard on a wet Sunday.... with the rain that made it wet... coming from $h!clouds..
  15. for comparison.. this is pretty much what my OLD 2009 and 2012.. Cadillac CTS-V interior looked like..
  16. A foot pump parking brake? How quaint! The Lacrosse's is electric. I'll give Benz props where its due, but never on the E-Class outside of the REAL.. I said REAL.. AMG models. Seriously.. they are so common in my area that they are on the same level as the OLD Impala. The new Impala gets more props than people who driving E-Classes.
  17. I don't even think its necessary for me to answer this.. its a no brainer. The Vette can easily be worth almost $200K in decent condition as long as its original numbers... $90K+ if it isn't. U can get that SL550 for what I have in my 12 year old kids savings account, and she would still have money left over to buy a second one and gas it for a 2-3 years. Vette appreciation vs one of the fastest depreciating brands I can think of. U can find a 2013 SL550 (sold for $100K) for under $50K right now with miles under 20K.
  18. As I said before.. the Lacrosse interior is as luxury if not more so than the E550. $h!.. my Impala blows this away
  19. Why would U compare the LaX with the ATS anyway? The LaX should be viewed as a step down from the CTS. The ATS more in line with the Regal or even Verano in terms of steps. Because he seems to think that anyone with $40k to spend is going to go the same direction he is... that RWD trumps everything else including size, or that someone looking for the size and comfort of a Lacrosse is going to downsize in to a really small CLA because glowing-pointy-star. Do people not read? I would prefer an ATS over a LaCrosee, but I prefer performance over length and interior dimensions. I said you can argue one over the other. If your view of luxury is leg room and a soft ride and some tech gadgets, you may want a Kia Cadenza or similar. Different strokes for different folks. You have argued consistently over the years that the Lacrosse is not a luxury car in your view simply because you value other factors more. Are you changing your argument to say that the Lacrosse IS a luxury car, but just not your style? What's nuts is that the LaX is as luxury as a his E-Class depending on the trim. I am at a loss as to which year and trim he has. Anyone who has been in a LaX Premier and doesn't agree with what I'm saying seriously hasn't been in a pre-2016 EClass.
  20. Why would U compare the LaX with the ATS anyway? The LaX should be viewed as a step down from the CTS. The ATS more in line with the Regal or even Verano in terms of steps. ATS and LaCrosse are the same price. That is why I brought those two up for the gray area that exists between mainstream brand and luxury brand. Same comparison could be made with an Avalon and an IS250. ATS and Lacrosse do meet in the price range. But in reality the ATS starts about $2K more than the LaX 1SV. My question to U is why the bias? VW's Touareg is $2K MORE than the Audi Q5. Yes the VW is slightly larger by 6 inches.. but the LaX is also larger than the ATS by about 3X that. Does that mean that U think the VW strategy is wrong? While we are at the level of stupidity that once made me put fools in their place to the point of me being banned from forums.. I will add that at your precious $h! of a car company BENZ.. why would I buy a $100K GWagon.. when I could get a more useful $32K Sprinter, with more modern equipment no less.
  21. Why would U compare the LaX with the ATS anyway? The LaX should be viewed as a step down from the CTS. The ATS more in line with the Regal or even Verano in terms of steps. His ideas come off as screwy as a stripped bolt

  23. Your information, as usual, is erroneous. BMW V-12 : 592 HP / 590 TRQ Cadillac V : 640 HP / 630 TRQ Already puts the smack down on the V-12, with a half-liter less displacement & 4 less cylinders. And no smoothness penalty. BMW's 12 needs a major overhaul. I think I read some rumor where BMW might up the power of the V12, as Rolls Royce will use it too. But if it is the 592 of the 760 which it probably will be, that engine does make peak torque at 1,500 rpm, which is really low. The CTS-V makes peak torque at 3,600. Regardless though, it is physically impossible to make a V8 as smooth as a V12 or an inline six for that matter. The V12 is the smoothest engine configuration. Dude U really should take a spin in the new CTS-V in Touring Mode just to understand how wrong U are. Take a rich guy with U.. cause they don't just allow test drives for the sake of doing it. While I won't claim that the LT4 is as smooth as the BMW V12, my reason for doing so is confined to the fact that I haven't tested them back to back. In driving a 760i I won;t lie.. I was certainly impressed with the NVH and power delivery.. but after driving the CTS-V for going on 3 months... I truly believe that Cadillac should forego the intro of the TTV8 they are planing and simply use the LT series engines, re-branded, as their choice of V8
  24. Figured this was coming. I read somewhere that Buick, while being the softer side of luxury, would be pursuing a niche that was also currently owned by Subaru. Might be a good move IMO, as the car market seems to be stalling as of late. I will bet good money tho that the Verano isn't just be killed, but replaced by an Astra
  25. Hey Smk... if U had the money to spend on a $40K ATS or $40K CLA.. and your choice was limited to them.. which would U buy?
