  1. The ELR was not the whole topic of that conversation. I'm perplexed as to why the other points of the conversation where not discussed: A great deal of what he talks about confirms a great deal of what I was thinking about the brands bid to go the long haul... and not just add quick sales fixes for the sake of sales. BUILD the brand.. lost customers to gain leadership. I've been pitching this for a while. Even with the numbers right in most posters face.. they will still insist that its the car. Yes the 5series.. E-Class sell more.. but they are establsihed players in the price range.. makes sense. They also don't have the XTS sitting on the lot at the same price sopping up sales because the perceived "Flagship" car of Cadillac.. and many people believe this due to its size.. is a raging bargain versus the CTS. "Let's see.. I can get your flagship for $500 less than your mid-size.. hmmmmm... " This happens. Ask a Cadillac dealer. See Below in bold
  2. One could go out on a limb and THINK that the boys at Buick could add the 2.0LTurbo to the Lacrosse line-up if a Park Ave shows up. Its a foregone conclusion that an Omega based PA will show up. At that time, the Lacrosse would systematically lose its status as the top Buick. U are aware that at Cadillac currently.. the XTS starts out with a standard 3.6L with 304 hp 264 lb-ft of torque? The CT6 will start out with a base 2.0L Turbo with Automatic Stop/Start BTEW.. anyone else find it curious that Cadillac has this on their website pertaining to the 2.0Lturbo? (TBD - SAE certification pending) It does not state that the 2.0L has 268HP 295lb of torque.. which makes me wonder what they are up to.
  3. The Camaro beat it in every performance metric except 60-0.. and then picks that back up in an 80-0 press. I love this car. Gotta get out and drive one. And Sorry.. while I absolutely love the Mustang's ass.. I think this Camaro is better looking in every other aspect
  4. The Envision is probably only temporarily gonna come from China... The Encore is surprisingly "large" for what it is.. LOL.. I'm 6'3 and went to wash it still having to stand on my tippy-toes to get to the top... Inside it is nicely spacious. Drop the seats and the cargo room seriously opens up. She like the "Shelf" cargo shade system too. OH and mad props to Buick Mylink.
  5. Thanks... took it out for a quick run to the store.. I had test drove it with her, but had not gotten behind the wheel myself. Nice lil Whip. 1.4LTurbo actually moves this baby quite nice.. and thus far.. since Saturday at least.. when I hit the Average FE button it read 25.6 in mixed
  6. She has access to the Denali. I look out for her because we are family... and family is.. well FAMILY always
  7. I kno U do. Thanks for the advice The closest one to me is in Virginia.. I am waiting for Spring.. so not an issue for me to test one out yet. I'm cool with buying the first year.. as I had great luck with my first year '09 VSeries Sedan before I saw the Coupe and fell in love.
  8. Getting GM Supplier discount on next purchase thru a friend at Allison Tran. CTS-V.. probably gonna go lease tho.
  9. Well GM.. U really need to send my a thanks. I kno U do everytime I buy a Vette or a Cadillac.. but this is my second CUV purchase in 2 months.. Purchased a certified Equinox in Oct.. and now.. Well here's the story Ex-Wifey decided she loved Buick, but was ready to get rid of her '14 Verano Turbo. So.. She came down from NJ and had me take her to look for CUVs at the Buick Dealership. The Enclave proved to be too large.. and wold U believe the salesman actually told her that if she waited just a few months they would be getting in a new mid-size CUV called "Envision." She told him that she was in the mood to buy now.. saw a pearl white Encore AWD, Black/Titanium leather interior... on the lot and had to have it... We are extremely cool, and she has my kids. She asked for it... I bought it. For extreme weather she still has access to my Denali, which is now 6 years old, but only has about 50K on the odo. So.. Wink Wink.. Nudge Nudge.. and she got her Christmas present from me early... to the tune of about $29K before the trade of $16K on the Verano Turbo with 42K on the ODO. Handed over the keys.. gave them a check of approx $13K.. (I actually tried to put it on my CC, for the points, but they said the CC limit was $3000)
  10. Hyundai did not suddenly find the secret sauce to building a legit world class luxo car... The weight tells me that they basically have non-innovation wrapped in an AudiWannabe Wrapper.
  11. the whole proposition is ridiculous. $390K (with the clock) ??? I don't think so, but to each his own. Interior looks like a nice place to be, with exception to those ugly Mercedes-ish round vents,... that I still believe were cribbed from my old Pontiac G6 and chrome lined. Also.. in a vehicle like this, and after being told that a console shifter is so low-class.. why no knob shifter? Smk??
  12. Knowing out Troll for the past 10 years, I can tell U that he, despite being raised on GM's dime, will do anything to pump-up Ford product no matter what it is. He is the same person that once tried to convince me that the Escalade.. was in danger.. of being discontinued ..after the debut of that ugly Lincoln MKT. Yes.. I said MKT. The one that most will only be caught DEAD in.. literally
  13. I'd take your pair over his every day of the week. ELR compared to a CTS-V, EASY! Stingray with a tacky hood sticker, no thanks! You've got yourself quite the pair of cars there, man. Thanks.. but the hood decal aside I love the look of the CF roof, but I prefer the transparent one I have as well. The VCoupe is certainly sweet, but I am seriously looking forward to the Gen3 VSedan and its HP bump, not to mention new level of luxury
  14. actually its still a possibility that the Avenir is coming.. altho if U don't see the the similarities in these cars then U are just blind.. and attempting to bait. U remind me of one other hatin MOFOS that hates a particular competitor car.. but then suddenly when a NEW one debuts.. U say how much U loved the previous one, and U wish they hadn't changed it.. because the new one is your new target and that ass tho.. YUMMMY
  15. A guy over at GMI got this recently and I had to call him on it... Almost identical.. except one is made for Fuel Efficiency.. and the other is made for ripping a hole in time
  16. I hate agreeing with U. It literally makes me sick.. but yes.. I concur. The truth of the matter is that the MKZ's use of a TTV6 setup only shows that Ford really wants a RWD set-up.. but can't seem to get past the Mustang and Trucks to do it. We are talking about minimum 4200lbs in a mid-sizer
  17. Jesus.. Did I miss the ELR being brought up in a conversation ? It was a waste of time. Basically there should have never been an ELR, as beautiful as it is... especially when you had the new Voltec powertrain sitting in the wings getting ready to come out in the CT6. Fact is... ELR should have been the ATS coupe or sub ATS sports car with a normal power train. A PERSONAL LUXURY COUPE. Nice.
  18. apparently the eggs are in the basket. If GM wanted to make everything Hybrid.. they could and U kno it.
  19. The new powertrain is hardly run of the mill. The V6 has start/stop and cylinder deactivation mated to a brand new 8-speed. With a huge drop in curb weight, this big sedan is likely to be QUICK (like running mid-14s) and still achieve over 20/30 mpg. I'm sorry... is that really considered quick these days? My 11 year old Avalon would run mid-14s and hit 60 in about 6 seconds (and would do over 31 mpg highway), which is likely where the new LaCrosse will be at. I wasn't wowed by that car's power, so I'm not going to be wowed by this either. The current LaCrosse is a 2-ton porker, so losing 300lbs merely brings it back down to average weight and performance for the class. Again, there's nothing exciting here. It's a run-of-the-mill powertrain in every single way for the year 2017. Kthxbai. What I would really like to see is the MKZ's powertrain with the LaCrosse's body. Perfect boulevard cruiser. First I think U are completely out in left field of what a "boulevard cruiser" is... emphasis on the CRUISER part. Second the idea that your 2010HP 2004 Avalon is going to be faster than the new LaX, while getting superior fuel economy is ridiculous. The 2004 Camry SE barely pulled it off with a 14.6 seconds @ 97.0 mph, and was lighter. This Lacrosse, should certainly improve upon the numbers laid by my heavier Impala.. Fuel economy is certainly going into the 30s.. I love the idea of Run of the Mill when is incorporating start/stop, cylinder deactivation and an 8-speed tranny.. all wrapped in a sweet honey bun of an exterior. U want 12 second 1/4 miles.. go buy a Cadillac.. or even a Chevy. Buick is about smooth luxury. Everyone doesn't need their car to be a performance car.. and that's coming from some one who predominately has REAL performance cars.
  20. Did you see the curb weights of the new Malibu at Motor Trend's car of the year testing? Base model was 3125 lbs and the loaded Premier 2.0T was just 3300!! Insane how much weight they've dropped, yet the Malibu was still one of the quietest rides in the competition. That's a nice mention... the quote was: Inside, the Premier and Hybrid models felt downright luxurious with rich leather, ventilated seats, and quiet rides. “The best of the Malibu bunch,” Jason Cammisa said of the hybrid. “It rides great and is way quieter than the Audi A6 on the road.” Says a lot of about what this car's mission is at this point.. not to mention what to expect from the upcoming LaX and Regal. The Malibu is proof positive that the Impala we all kno and love is not long for this world in its current form. They just seem to bump up against each other too much in the line-up. I'm still putting up the idea that the next gen will be on a de-contented Omega.
  21. Maybe it's because they are busy working on more affordable cars that don't even need gas. http://www.chevrolet.com/culture/article/bolt-ev-concept-car.html That's nice and all, but nobody is buying EV. Affordable, roomy hybrids sell. That much is a fact. About 100,000 EV +387,000 Hybrid cars suggest otherwise. Furthermore GM, Ford.. and the rest would be fools to not push the development of such cars if for no other reason than them being able to continue selling trucks. I for one would have no issue with the eventual demise of the ICE. Its coming. Its inevitable. For Godsake its only been 120 years but alas this is only your take because Ford is currently not in the headlines with such bold moves. If they were.. U'd be pushing it like no tomorrow. Thank you for proving my original point, that hybrids sell, and that GM needs more affordable hybrids. And honestly casa, you calling me out for promoting a brand is hilarious. The day I get a tattoo of my favorite brand (God, I have to still lol at that) is the day I will stop cheering for mine. Funny U should say that.. as I was considering a Corvette tatt as well to go along with my avatar one. As to the hybrid point.. The CT6 and Volt are essentially Hybrids.. just with longer range due to being the PHEV variety. No different than what Ford tried to copy with Energi. Furthermore, as Willy pointed out.. the Malibu is coming with 48MPG.. according to GM, but I wouldn't be surprised if it hits 50 in EPA tests. U see when GM makes Fuel Economy claims.. they don't have to follow it up with a "Check is in the mail" bulletin for lying
  22. its a no-brainer. If the vehicles are engineered they should be engineered from the get go to be global. If I can buy an Astra hatch in UK.. in Germany.. in Latin America... I should be able to buy it in the US

  24. From this angle.. U would swear U were looking at a sports car
