Navigator has IRS. It barely gives additional legroom in that and the Expy. The packaging of the Acadia is huge. GM should have never indulged people with it. Bottom line is that it looks like they have repackaged it in a way that won't effect the interior room very much at all.. while giving the second row occupants more room. The give-up is in the cargo area. Also.. due to the availability of the Long WB of the upcoming Enclave, if GM sees the need they can certainly intro a LWB Acadia in the way they did with the Envoy.. this vehicle rightful ancestor There is 3 inches more legroom in the Expy than the Subruban(3rd row). 37.7in vs 34.5in The current Traverse has 33.2in of 3rd row leg room. Take that how you'd like. I just looked it up because I was curious when I read what you said Casa. We've had this discussion before over at MT after a C&D comparo.. Passenger space in the second row was a stalemate basically.. but the Tahoe lost in the 3rd row.. which I concede, but doesn't have any effect on my particular use as I personally and investigating clean ways of removing the third row all together. I have in the past and really wish they hadn't of given into people in this dept and left the 3rd row removable. When I got my Yukon, I had forgotten I had a third row in my Tahoe, I had taken them out so long ago. I traded it in and realized afterwards.. and ended up having to sell them on Ebay for $1000. Based on popularity,... people seemingly don't give DAMN.. about that extra space concentrated on by Ford for the Passengers. They may just be a lot like me and LOOOOOOOOOVE the fact that they.. the driver and front row passenger can swing THEIR feet back in forth. Eff I care about rear seat passengers if I'm scrunched up in the front. I put my seat back as far as I can get it.. and will crush your damn legs if it gets me comfy

It and the XT5 are on the same platform called C1xx, which is a variant of the E(psilon)2XX for CUVs.. The two aforementioned are on SWB while the Traverse and Enclave are gonna be on the LWB version.

Last year GM sold 96K Acadias, Ford sold 249K Explorers, while the GC move 196K. Now obviously the LAMBDAS beat both of them when U combine them at 277K.. the Traverse moving the most, but I see what GMC is trying to do with their TRUCK brand.. and grab some of those sales currently going to the Explorer and GC. I for one never really thought of the Acadia, due to size, as a direct competitor to the GC. I looked it more as an alternative to the Yukon. Perhaps a competitor to the Explorer, Pilot.. or Highlander
-
Reg.. U want to play it safe for the sake of playing it safe. GM is wise to differentiate these vehicles via size. The Acadia was almost spot-on in size to the Yukon. In think instead if playing it safe, GM sees the sales of both the GC and the Explorer and wants those sales too.. independent of the other brands.

Envoy is DEAD. And it should be. Always felt as tho it was weird.. crazy even to have the Acadia.. which was visually the size of the Yukon sitting on the same lot. Let me be clear.. At Buick and Saturn, at the time, the Enclave and Outlook made sense. The Acadia and Traverse only made sense if .. and I mean IF... the rumors were turning out to be true (I don't kno if U guys remember) that the Tahoe and Yukon were dying off.. leaving on the Suburban and XL as a ways and means to counter CAFE. Having the FWD based, V6 wearing CUVs were the answer. Obviously they didn't die.. Lambdas are somewhat redundant on the lots, and in this situation.. U might see a slightly cheaper Yukon and Tahoe result if the Traverse takes the same diet. Again.. Enclave should STAY the same size.. the Acadia being primed to go up against the Grand Cherokee, (and Explorer) show real life in the GMC brand. Especially the All-Terrain. My girlfriend who was considering an Acadia just recently.. saw these pics and said "Yes.. that's exactly what I would want. Sized like the GC, but probably way more reliable." She owned a GC from 2011 to 2012. Loving this. Actually looks like an SUV again. Size wise the interior volume, sans some of the cargo room is the same or better (2nd row has more legroom)
-
Interior is decent.. actually nice use of materials, buuuuut the design over which the materials are placed seems bland. Exterior is class D boring. It lacks not only sexy appeal.. but comes off as more mainstream than the Fusion.. a size and class below. I'm missing something. I can't not like a product this much. Bottom line.. and this is where my Domestic bias shows.. if this were a Toyota.. a Hyundai.. a Nissan (which is what I think they were going for circa early 2000s) I would roast this car like no tomorrow.

This kind of hyperbole right here is why you and I butt heads. Only you would somehow suggest a C6 Corvette even begins to hold a candle to an LFA. Or that this car will look bad. This is the base model. There will be a hybrid and twin-turbo model to follow. It is more than sufficient as a base engine. Especially in a luxury coupe. As for the car, it is a stunning design. They could have cleaned the rear end up just a bit, however. Didn't expect this thing to start around the six-figure mark, but I guess Lexus is going after the big fish here. Let me get this straight... U suggesting that my C6 Corvette wasn't a better performer than the LFA??? Because U drove my C6.. U drove the LFA too.. or at the very least raced one???

Bold move, but I have to laugh at the powertrain they are using.. 467HP.. that thing better be 3000lbs or I can see a many a car making it look as bad as my old Z51 C6 made an LFA look I happened upon a few years ago. Props to Toyota for at least doing it tho. Cadillac.. your move. Elmiraj needs a green light.

First U come at me in a way that was unnecessary... especially since I was talking about the car.. not U. Second.. and here is the most important part if U can ever get past the BS.. WE AGREE ON A BUNCH ON STUFF 90% of the time. A Tune??? If U are gonna get a tune on the 320i U might as well get the 328i. The difference in price is about $5K.. and that is a very small amount in terms of Financing or Leasing. Furthermore HOW MUCH IS THAT TUNE??? Because it would have to be a bargain basement price in order to justify all the other things one has to upgrade to get to the 328i they could have just bought for $5K more. As to the 2.5L. Boring dog... I would characteristic any car in this class as that after hopping out of the VSeries model.. or in my case, the day I drive the new 2.5L 8Speed.. my Vette. Its all about perspective, in both brands. No one such as U or me are gonna normally walk into a BMW or Cadillac dealer and buy a 2.5L as a DD expecting it to pull off daredevil tricks like Evel Knievil, but I'll be the first to tell U that the 8speed tends to wake that lil bitch up.. just enough to be noticed. And despite the humble engine, the tuning of the chassis is quite up to snuff to make most feel satisfied. AGAIN.. I personally would opt for the 3.6L or 3.6LTT, no different than I would opt for the 335i or M3. Lastly.. if CUE is maddening to anyone then that person must be ready or a strait-jacket just dealing with their daily use of the IPhone or Android. The biggest gripe I've ever heard about CUE was that it lacks buttons. That's it. That's all. Nothing else. My solution.. use the effin Voice Control or BUTTONS on the steering wheel Idk about 90%, but I DO agree with you on a lot of things. My biggest problem is in your delivery. The 320i may not be anything to write home about, but it's a much better car than it's similarly priced competition- 2.5 ATS, CLA, Acura ILX, Buick Regal. Certainly no justification for saying "F^&* BMW." The ATS is laughable in 2.5 spec, but I still wouldn't use that to dismiss the brand as a whole. I still don't agree. But then again.. as I've said neither are my first of second choices considering there are OTHER choices for really not much more within the nameplate. If I were to buy the Stingray again.. I'd go 8L90 Automatic every time. Quite frankly.. its just too good for me not to have gotten it had it been available at the time of my purchase.. That being said.. the 8Speed in the Vette, the 8L90 is not the same as the one in the Cadillacs, the 8L45 is the Cadillac version (someone correct me on the name code) and is different due to the gearing and transaxle going back to the C7 transmission in the rear instead of the front. Upgainst the last 911 I drove, both the Vette and the Alphas meet the capabilities of the best German tranny I can think of. And that's my issue. U came in with a sensationalized rant about how "maddening CUE" was... when in reality its force fed crap that people like regurgitate from sources like "John Lieberman" types

BTW... this thing has the same wheelbase as the Camaro.. I am thinking that despite its perceived look.. it is in no way the same size as the El Miraj.. more like the size of the Camaro. . The El Miraj is about the size of the CT6.. or 204inches long. The Camaros are in the 188 inch size
-
This. I agree wholeheartedly. Now.. if they built these concepts.. would U buy? They built the Converj concept.. they built the Provoq (SRX) concept.. the XTS-Concept.. CTS-Coupe concept.. they even built the Camaro5 concept.. The Beat even came out as a the Spark almost all completely intact. DID U BUY? I look around daily and I see a lot of nameplates running round from companies that built concepts that never saw the day of light. Hell. Have U seen what6 is gonna go in production as the Continental? All that Hoopla over whether it was soooooooo revolutionary over the CT6 and what we seem to be getting is a different take on an upgraded Taurus vs

Well at least we kno Sergio now has a plan for fuel economy standards not simply relying on the tranny speeds and diesels

Mini is hardly a luxury brand. They are a niche brand that produces cars that weren't originally intended for their philosophy. At best I put them on the same level as Subaru. and apparently so do Benz buyers.. since their entire line-up has a plethora of confusing alphabets and numbers to denote... WHAT AGAIN? The ML is the new G.. what??? The CL is now the...Scoupe??? the AMG CLA 45??? With that many characters they could have just spelled something for Godsake

400,000 units combined from two brands isn't all that impressive, sorry. And that's not even questioning how many vehicles among those could properly be considered 'luxury'. I mean just earlier, another poster was ripping on the CLA. Last time I checked, you can buy a Buick Verano with the lame duck 2.4, a Regal with a virtually spartan interior, so on and so forth. and truly U can buy a BMW 320i, with its 0-60 in 6.7, and get seriously surprised by a 2016 Chevy Volt 0-60 in 7.1 seconds. Not to mention.. have U been in a BMW 320i??? LMFAO. A Lady friend of mine was duped into buying one.. talk about buyer's remorse and a constant phone call of "how can I break the lease without losing too much." Weak sauce interior... no real options. Eff BMW. A BMW 320i is a far, far better car than a 2.5 ATS. It's the same old vitriol from you as always. First and foremost I stand by my comment. I find it hard to believe that U have been in a new 2.5L ATS coupled to the M5T 8Speed. It actually moves quite nice.. with nice NVH. That being said.. I'll be the first to say that I'd buy NEITHER of these cars with their bottom engines when there are better choices above. Same engine as the 328, but detuned makes it a dull girl

Completely agree. Maybe that's the point. Sell more cars by making a C-Class, E-Class potential buyer feel like he's buying an S-Class. Same thing is going on over at Cadillac with the ATS, CTS, and CT6. Just a few more tweaks to differentiate for the American brand. These 3 Benzes will require one read the tag to kno which is which. I saw an S-Class the other day in New York and swore up and down that it was a C-Class at first. Got up on the rear and was like "WTF???

Precisely what I said above your post. This Avista is and could be the PROPER way to present the "Firebird" which was supposed to be a more upscale take on the Camaro from git. The only issue I have is that its look is so radical for the brand.. so luxurious that it begs the question of WHAT THE EFF is Cadillac gonna do to one up it? The Avenir, as nice as the concept was.. still, IMO, cannot touch the El Miraj. Cadillac needs a radical coupe to one-up this and be ready for production starting n 2018 with the new Caddy take of the CTS.. probably on Omega... or the El Miraj.. CT7, better be ready to go. Because the El Miraj.. still makes this gorgeous rich Buick coupe look plebeian. and yes.. I can definitely see this as a new Holden Commodore coupe, as well as an Opel. Of course Opel is getting the Monza, which shares a few bits with this Buick as U can see by the face

No doubt. Don't forget the Denali brand.. make that about 550K sales of luxury vehicles covering ranges from Volvo to BMW and everything in between. Directly to the Cadillac PEAK. Look towards BMW.. and the 5series which shares a platform with the BMW 7 Series and is essentially a downsized 7 Series, the CTS will most likely be getting Omega as its bones, and be the same as the 5series in terms of sharing a larger platform. Basically the (current CTS)CT5 or 4 will be a "SWB CT6" still with the same body length as the current CTS, just larger inside via a wider and more space efficient platform called Omega. Sales are gonna come once they flesh it all out... Keep in mind that allows OMEGA to be shared on the upper end as well (think CT7, 8, 9).. following this philosophy of modulation.. like the RR Ghost and Wraith sharing the 7 Series. PROFIT!!! OK.. I'm not completely suggesting that the CT8 or 9 are definitely Ghost and Wraith competitors.. but in terms of LOGIC, probable pricing, and hierarchy.. where else would they compete? I'm seeing Cadillac throwing convention by the wayside and having sedans: The Omegas CT5 (CTS) going up against 5Series CT6 going up against SWB 7Series (Globally) or 740i (here) CT7 (Elmiraj)(Coupe/Vert) 8Series (if ever allowed into fruition) CT8 (Ciel) going up against LWB 7Series CT9 (Wreath) (Coupe) going up against Wraith CT10 (Crest) going up against Ghost I thru those names in because it really seems proper that Cadillac lose the "CT" on that level. Those names would be fine internationally as well in translation. They could go back to SERIES 70 and 75 for heritage sake. I of course wish that they SERIES moniker had been used thru-out the line-up instead of CT We must also remember that there is already a RWD SUB-ATS in the works which will align the pricing better as well. Meaning that the ALPHAS: CT2 U have up there will come in at most likely $30K CT4 (current ATS) will probably bump up in price to $36,500; Still under the C-Class by a few with the starting OMEGAS.. CT5 (Basically a SWB CT6) (current CTS) will most likely stay at $46K CT6 (or LWB CT5, according to how U look at it).. at $54K

Knocked outta the park again.. My only issue is that this needs to show up sooner rather than later. I have been told that the Avenir is going to production. It obviously will get some slight tweaks, but Omega needs volume. I would think that from a business stand-point Alpha could use this Camaro redo as a Buick. Pontiac and the Firebird no longer exist... Camaro needs a production mate. Obviously so do the ATS and CTS if GM is not gonna variant the hell out of it over at Cadillac. It is still my belief that base don what JDN has said that the CTS is going to Omega come 2018 and the redo to the "CTx" changeover. What the hell does this have to do with Buick??? GM's desire to twindle down platforms with essentially TWO RWD and TWO FWD for all cars and CUVs Like the 5series which shares a platform with the BMW 7 Series and is essentially a downsized 7 Series, the CTS will most likely be getting Omega as its bones, and be the same as the 5series in terms of sharing a larger platform. Basically the (current CTS)CT5 or 4 will be a "SWB CT6" still with the same body length as the current CTS, just larger inside via a wider and more space efficient platform called Omega. Count the need for Buick to chime in and get a flagship larger than the LAX for China and U.S (possibly). The "Avista" goes to Buick because they are continuing the trend down the age demographic.. and a sporty coupe could be the fix and seriously help Alpha along with the Camaro. Again... and based on what JDN said a few months ago about the next "CTS" and next "ATS" we should be seeing a simple change of size formula for the sake of these issues that critics have brought up about the legroom etc. I'm thinking for the most part the Alpha based ATS replacement will essentially get the Chinese ATS-L Wheelbase of 112.6 inch vs what it has right now of 109.3. This would dwarf the current 3series' 110.6 in WB by a few inches. I think that the ATS replacement will be, along with the Sub-ATS, the only Cadillacs on the Alpha platform, with the Camaro, and this Avista helping out with the numbers a bit more. The CTS replacement will probably go to Omega. I could see it staying at 196 inchs.. and getting a bump in Wheelbase (currently at 114.6 inches) too coming in at around 117 in N.Amer, like the 5Series. It has been said that the CT6 handles as well as the current CTS.. so certainly I would think that an OMega based... smaller than CT6... CTS would handle as well or better, not losing any of its agility, and losing a few hundred lbs in the change over. This would be beneficial in amortizing the Omega platform even quicker.. (altho I would still push it out to an Impala at Chevy and a Park Ave or Avenir at Buick) along with the CT7 and CT8
