LA Auto Show: 2017 Buick LaCrosse: Comments
Cmicasa the Great replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in LA Auto Show
The E-class has a standard V6 and is the segment gold standard, the Lexus GS is a standard V6, Infiniti Q70 has a standard V6. Anything the CT6 is supposed to compete with has 6 or 8 cylinders. Cadillac is also the challenger, not the leader, they should use the 3.6 V6 as their base model, a 3.0 TT as a mid-level engine. That Mercedes is a fat fat fat pig and its only the gold standard to people who don't kno any better- 104 replies

LA Auto Show: 2017 Buick LaCrosse: Comments
Cmicasa the Great replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in LA Auto Show
I think the point of the 2.0lin both cars is because the competition offers a turbo 4. The Buick Lacrosse main competition is the ES350, which is standard and singular 3.5 v6. My bet is in the Chinese market the LaX will have a 2.0l or smaller choice as well for to taxation. I will also point out that in NA. the Buick's 3.6l is rated almost with the 2.0lturbo when one considers the lighter weight and torque in the CT6 configuration. BTW. I wouldn't bet on the CT6 being 4cylinder heavy in sales. The 3.6l will be volume if for no other reason than the slight upcharge in price- 104 replies

It looks gorgeous. The current model is very very nice. I almost bought one myself before I ended up getting my Impala.. but had this 2017 been out.. I think I would have went Buick. Looks like the one thing that held me back from the Lacrosse has been fixed.. the TRUNK. The new one looks to have the Impala's sized trunk.. which I do use often in transporting equipment from certain job sites.- 104 replies

It seems as tho the new thing at Ford is to take designs from higher end vehicles to get attention in a formula originally pulled off by Hyundai, then Chrysler (300)then... well Ford... With the Fusion. It worked to a degree, but on a WHOLE BRAND?- 144 replies

GM Fleet Email Advertises 48MPG 2016 Malibu Hybrid

Pretty Sweet indeed. The New Malibu.. almost at the size of a full-size will now come within spitting distance of the Prius in MPGs. Who would have thought? -
Revelation: A Chevy That’s Better Than a BMW
Cmicasa the Great replied to ccap41's topic in Chevrolet
Excuse me for not quoting.. after awhile HERE the quoting in the posts gets to be a distraction. Just too many. I feel what U are saying. The XTS was never supposed to be anything other than a "bridge" to accommodate Cadillac buyers after the demise of my most despised of all Cadillacs.. the DTS. I hate that car for what it stands for. There had been massive discussions about the XTS because many were disappointed that the ZETA based XLS and later DT7 had not been produced and we got the Epsilon based vehicle. My thoughts were that it was not a bad thing for the brand, as long as we knew it was interim. I submitted that having a FWD base and optional AWD was no different than what Audi was doing with the A8 globally. The XTS, from the start, was always a place-holder. Even Brian Nesbitt made that clear when he was in charge of Cadillac and it debuted. The CTS is the mid-luxury that Cadillac needs. The CT6 is the interim Flagship also occupying the top end of that Mid-Lux until we are finally presented with the "Messiah" CT7 or 8. But it is not going away.. it simply is the Major, the Commanding Officer because the Colonel, then General hasn't arrived yet. The XTS.. well is pretty much going into the National Guard (Buick). LOL... I'm having an Air Force luncheon today -
My Test Drive of 2016 Cadillac ATS-V
Cmicasa the Great replied to Cmicasa the Great's topic in Reader Reviews
No lag.. just juice. Without me knowing that it was a V6.. without me knowing it was a turbo.. there is no way U could tell me it wasn't an LT1 under the hood. No way. The exhaust even sound perfectly harmonized for the class. No it doesn't sound like U have Billy Boats under there.. nor Flowmasters.. but I would easily say that the sound is a refined Corsa. I will imagine, for now, they saved the louder exhaust for the Camaro SS. Long story short. This thing moves. Take it to a tune shop, or be an AMERICAN (and AMERICA... the U.S. includes everything North..and South.. East and West, til U get to the Oceans and then some of Cleveland.. cause U can have Cleveland. Its a neural spot.. POS town that it is ) man and do it yourself.. get another 36HP and U will pull off what Marty McFly did without the Flux capacitor and now overwrought, ugly Aluminum car. U kno where I be MENG.. -
My Test Drive of 2016 Cadillac ATS-V
Cmicasa the Great replied to Cmicasa the Great's topic in Reader Reviews
Always honest about my reviews.. even the competition. I will go out on a limb and say that despite the reviews.... going in I thought to myself that "this is NO WAY gonna be more fun to drive than the M3 (I drove a new one owned by a friend back this summer,) but damn if I wasn't completely wrong. This thing goes in out of traffic as if they were butter and it is a hot knife. Seriously.. a one point I was able to wiggle thru two idiots on 83N with what I bet was about 6 feet between them in conjunction to their lanes (yes I'm that guy who will come so close in a lane change U just knu I skinned U). -
LA Auto Show: 2017 Lincoln MKZ: Comments
Cmicasa the Great replied to balthazar's topic in LA Auto Show
Gotta be honest.. I love the bump in HP for the AWD model.. 400HP/400 torque from a 3.0L TT... Sounds familiar.. but the look seems like Lincoln literally stole from all three, Kia, Jag, and Audi (the headlights) in their design. What ever happened to originality. The Split wing on the MKZ was actually one of the few things that set it apart. Thank GOD they retained the "Oldsmobile Toronado" taillights OK.. make that 4- 144 replies

CT6 Build & Price: Configurator is Up
Cmicasa the Great replied to Cmicasa the Great's topic in Cadillac
A $41K range is nothing in this tier and you know it. No one cares about cylinders, just power. This car is at least a class and a half above the XTS- and my prediction is most sales will be in the mid-range, or $75K sticker. Yup. I was thinking the same thing. Cadillac should be on its sales and marketing staff to pull people in with the LGX, but ultimately push them for a test drive of the LGW and getting them to go $65K to start.. which will lead in to some pretty nice upgrades. If I didn't kno any better.. I would swear Cadillac is looking to steal buyers from Lexus (LS) to BMW (6GC and 7) to Benz (CLS and S-Class) with this one car. And yeah Surreal.. the black looks Boss. It reminds me of the Escalade -
Revelation: A Chevy That’s Better Than a BMW
Cmicasa the Great replied to ccap41's topic in Chevrolet
Actually there is a few things that the Super Epsilon II has that the Lacrosse on Epsilon II does not.. then there are the active suspension augmentation and technologies that went into making the XTS.. a Cadillac. The XTS is a MAGNIFICENT car. Perspective of course, but from the point of view of a person wanting a well handling, comfortable, balanced luxury vehicle. From an Enthusiast point of view.. the XTS is basically a POS. -

Cmicasa the Great replied to ccap41's topic in Chevrolet
I think this is quite obvious. The XTS to Impala donation proves it to be a perfect model. The Impala is great, but only because the XTS is magnificent. The flip side of that was the ELR. I think going forward.. GM has learned it's sense of direction Top.. to bottom -
Had some free time on my hands today round lunch so I decided to go up to my Caddy dealer to get a word on the arrival of the CTS-V. My sales rep literally thru his hands up and said that they are wondering that themselves.. as they already have a pre-order list almost 100 deep, cash money deposits, and some from out in PA, VA and W.VA. So.. I looked over on the showroom an they had this Crystal White Frost matte-finish ATS-V: On the windshield it notes only 99 being made, and they wouldn't allow me to test it unless I was seriously considering it.. because of the rarity. Really beautiful car. The paint seriously emanates with the snoot in me. Driving it would instantly have one enthralled in serious conversation Soooooooooo. I was shown the door.. and ushered into this 2 door beauty: Exterior Impressions: Black Raven, Polished 18s, Sunrood, Red Brembos... Car is BAD ASS. This is the way the ATS should actually be imo. Anyone saying the ATS Coupe is boring is an absolute crazy person. With these slight mods on the body.. even more GORGEOUS!!! Only in the case of the ATS could I even say that Cadillac is somewhat subdued.. and that is somewhat the nature of the segment. The 3series is BORING. The C-Class looks like a car ONLY for GIRLS... the A4 is a JELLYBEAN. The only one that is really challenging is the IS.. and that looks like something a 12 year old would draw on the back of his notebook Interior: As seen in the pics.. this one was a stick. Sueded material around the shifter and the steering wheel.. I would have opted OUT of that. I have in the VCoupe and thought it was nice at first, but like a friend of min said about his 911 Carrera with the same material.. " after a while U miss the feel of a leather wrapped wheel." Nuff said Loved the Recaros. Felt better than the one in my VCoupe. Instrument panel not included, and I have no issue with CUE or the interior outside of that panel. Gotta wonder why the hell the Camaro is getting a better instrument panel and a convertible right out the gate. But it is what it is.. and we all kno this car is closer to being replaced than being introduced. But WOWZA what a finish. IF someone had of told U that Cadillac worst interior was still on par with that of the M3 or C63's U would have put a bullet in their head. I'm here to tell U that it would be to your advantage to go ahead and cock that gun.. OK OK.. the new C-Class interior does have some fine bits.. but where as the ATS is let down by its instrument panel JUST being plain.. the C-Class is let down by the fact that its overwrought and.. has a cheap looking tablet taped to the dashboard. The instrument panel is PLAIN.. during the day. At night it looks absolutely sweet. Yeah. I think the chrome ring treatment would have done wonders. It is the one thing.. the ONE THING I would want the, to change on the ATS.. I've seen the M3/4 cluster and it really isn't anything to write home about either, but does have that Ring I didn't sit in the rear. Why bother? Its too hard to DRIVE from back there, and anyone I have to give a charity ride to best shut their mouths and hang on for their lives. This bad boy MOVES. Drive: I drove my Stingray to the dealer.. and got out of it into the Caddy... My goal was to compare the handling, the similar HP. My conclusion; This Sexy American Chica handles like it thinks its a... a... Z51.. no.. a Z06. Yes. In the words of Tommy Flannigan (John Lovitz) "Yeaaah.. That's the ticket." And U should have the coin to afford a few of those as well. This car is as fast as my Vette. Or at least damn near. Furthermore, the 6 Speed is more connected in my opinion... perhaps because it truly is. The Vette's tranny being in the rear means that it requires a bit of a connection rod to sent shifts from my hand to the rear mounted tranny. This one is directly connected, thus IMO, feels smoother Put it in first, then second.. then 3rd.. then 4th... I was all ready at 120MPH, and the sales guy clinching the seat says.. "Whooah Whooaaaah.. U can't buy it they confiscate it." He actually said that. Course I've been buying from him since 2005 soooo. This car is smooth. I've driven M3s, older model C63AMGs, RS4s.. even that ugly ass IS-F. Sorry... to all those foreign crack pots. Revelation: A Chevy That’s Better Than a BMW
Cmicasa the Great replied to ccap41's topic in Chevrolet
Considering the bones that it is built on.. the ATS is better than the 3Series, outside of the backseat room , and the Camaro is lighter, more sport focused.. this seems like a no-brainer. GM platform engineering is essentially, at this point, second to none. I did a test run in the ATS -V today.. literally hopping out of the Stingray, and came away feeling as tho Cadillac had done the same thing.. 'cept they put all the education they gained from that C7 run.. into a Cadillac vehicle that simply blows away the competition. Talk about a great handler.. Why would anyone think the Camaro would be any different -
What some have said in reference to WHY GM is doing is I believe spot on. In truth... if we are going to have this stance of "I'm not ever buying a GM vehicle again because they are importing ONE vehicle from China.. I have to call BULL$h! and ask U how does one remotely stomach the purchase of a BMW, VW, Benz, Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, Honda, or etc? The country of origin for all of those companies have literally at one time or another go on historical records as KILLING AMERICANS. As a result of Germany and Japan going NUTS. and trying to take over the world in WWII American lost 419,400. As a result of Germany just being dicks.. in WWI we lost 116,516 Fighting the Koreans.. 36,516 Yet we have no ill will towards them. Buy their vehicles and products in droves. I'm not defending GM in this.. but I do think that they are doing exactly what is proper for the sake of business. In truth.. it is the American people who set the stage for this years ago. Buying from Japan, Germany, Korea.. and even more from China.. just a different type of product And Just like that Bob Lutz is saying the same thing; http://video.cnbc.com/gallery/?video=3000453628

CT6 Build & Price: Configurator is Up
Cmicasa the Great replied to Cmicasa the Great's topic in Cadillac
I would want that grounds effect package. It looks bad ass.. and obviously lowers the car without actually lowering it. The TT3.0L Platinum would be my choice until the rumored TTV8 appears or Hybrid. I think that is gonna be the real ticket. I see what Cadillac has done now on pricing and its a doozy. Despite its entry price it is quite easy to reach LS460 Pricing and I truly believe the TTV8 (VSport?) could reach as high up as where the 750i stops around $125K. Any one who believes that this $54K price is anything but a classic bait and switch is naive and probably lives at home with their mom and dad. What just happened is Cadillac just put out a helluva luxury vehicle for a cost that could quite possibly crash the luxo market . This is not Hyundai and their Genesis or Equ trying to move up market. This is a Cadillac offering a vehicle that is a tour de force of technology in a luxury wrapper with a luxury name. Cadillac gave us a seriously special luxury car that will be compared to and seen as an ACTUAL competitor to the vaulted, over-priced S-Class, for even with a comparable power-train for $12K less. For me there has only been ONE way to buy this car. Platinum TT3.0L Baby.. or better -
From who?? The Mustang Fans?? Mustang fans will come in with every excuse in the book.. then follow up with crazy suggestions to try and hobble the Camaro so that they can eeek out one magazine win. Over at GMI there are some who suggest a 5.3L as an option .. because in 2016.. heading into CAFE, manufacturers are looking for a reason to drive up their corporate average. People should be happy that they are still offering a V8 at all. The fact that now we have a V6 with as much HP as the top Camaro or Mustang from 2002, albeit less torque, should be cause for rejoice.. on both sides. One great thing is that the numbers seems to damn near match those coveted LS1 powered Camaros 5.1 seconds and cover the quarter in 13.5@103 for the new 3.6L versus the 2002 LS1 CAmaro's 5.1 and [email protected]
