  1. haha... here in cali... our dealership sold about... 2800 new chevys last year... we could use some help from GM in some manner... we have lost a lot of the salespeople that made the store so reputable... and the new salespersonel are lazy... soo... at my dealership as any dealership could use a helping hand... EDIT... I am wrong i'm quite sure... we sold 2800 units of 2005 year models, but i dont know how many units were sold throughout the entire year.
  2. yea they have a sissy look to me... but its starting to grow on me... it reminds me of a big baby bear... i'm not sure why... its big and agressive, yet it looks so soft...
  3. i dont think its just so cal... those things are so inferior compared to the suburbans and tahoes... expecially with the new ones coming out... i had a customer wanted to trade in her armada for a HHR... she said she was sick of getting 9mpg...
  4. yea we've had everything from honda odyessey's to RX300 Lexus, no armadas... umm Tundras camrys, expidtions... thats about all i can think of right now...
  5. haha, everything is going well... The truck is helping to bring a lot of consumers in, we are seeing lots of interested customers. the perception of the vehicle is above and beyond what we can expect for the value it's representing... Feburary sales were up over January, or equal, due to less days. and i also said the suburbans are well anticipated, by the sales staff and consumers
  6. Agreed York likes to see performance, if something isnt doing its fair part in the company, or dragging it down...
  7. The weirdest thing... While I was at work today, a reporter from wall street journal called me to ask about the Tahoe sales and how I felt the other GMT900 were going to sell. weirdest thing... Well... The things she asked... How were sales going Was traffic up with the launch of the Tahoe? Were people asking about the tahoe? What is the general perception of the Tahoe? Looking at the traffic the Tahoe has broght are you looking forward to the upcoming vehicles like the Suburban? Would you say sales are up even over January?
  8. the wrap around front window is what i like most about it... dont take that away...
  9. hey man... just get a card... and put it sompleace, just because you dont want to be in dept doesnt mean you shouldnt establish your credit... if the bank says hey, you can have 500$ limit, and you say... ahh its okay, i dont really need it, but just in case... it shows you are responsible... its good to have 100% avalible revolving credit... trust me i look at credit every day... its a good way to establish credit... just get a card and put it someplace you'll never use it... but if you want a car, you are going to have to start somewhere... i'm 20 and i've already had 4 cars... a 94 firebird formula, a 05 hyundai elantra, 02 camaro v6, and 02 trans am... i can say my credit is pretty good for my age... but i still need to work on it before they'll lend me enough for a corvette or a CTS-V like I originally was thinking of... even though i can afford one... the bank may be like... well what for?
  10. this trick is often used to bypass the question... or the salesman wants to take control... sometimes a salesperson accually knows the answer but is being coy for one reason or another... but for the most part, the consumer already generally knows more about the vehcile then the salesperson, not about everything, but the things that are important to the consumer. Example... I could not tell you the leg room of any of the cars, nor the head room, although a consumer might ask it, to compare, or perhaps they already know because leg room is an issue.... wheel base... again, there is a lot of different cars out there... I am asked a lot the fuel cappacity... honnestly... i really dont know from vehicle to vehicle... i usually say about 25gallons in a silverado (i think its accually 26 but i'm not positive) but in the colordo its only 19... in an hhr i think its 14 or 15 gallon tank... equinox Uplander? trailblazer but for the most part if the consumer is asking questions the salesperson is doing a poor job of doing a walk around. sorry i got onto a rant lol... there is a lot of information to know about cars... and how is one salesperson going to know every question you throw at him. I had a customer ask me if the corvette was faster then a BMW X8... I wasnt sure... cause I didnt know, I told him if the horse power is equal, the vette is likely to win in a straight line...
  11. if they made a car like that i could see it fetching a $60k price tag, with a nice turboed Inline 6... sounds like a cool car...
  12. The problem I see... is that for every salesperson... IN a domestic store, the sales person needs to sell say 10 cars per month, to make a good living... but for any import dealership, the salesperson would need to sell 20-25 cars to make the same amount of income. thus Import brands thrive because of volume... so... what i am here to say i surmise, is that there is too much profit, a Chevy salesperson is content selling 10 cars in a month... they are happy, they are making enough money to feed their family... they dont need more, but with import brands... the more you get the more is marrier... GM is just trying to show salepeople they have been spoiled with high profits per vehicle. where invoice and msrp is 3-4k away, where imports are lucky to see 1500 in total profit before any discounting...
  13. yea but more or less... This just goes to show, peoples perception looking at GM is wrong... i often have arguments regaurding GM's stock as its undervalued... and that its a buy... but many people are like... have you seen GM's cars? man they lost 8 billion... they are going bankrupt...and i'm just like how could you be so clueless... if you paid any attention you could see their is a bright future....
  14. is that a super car, or just a futuristic roadster that will be slightly out of the price range of the average buyer... How much maybe i can wait on my CTS-V

  16. interesting... so... are their rebates or lowered sticker prices?
  17. a little but really i was thinking of upgrading to a GTO... from the trans am... then i was like... well how much is a corvette... an XLR? and a few other nice vehicles... i was like "I WANT A NEW CAR!" haha...
  18. haha... okay, i'll stick to pontiac.... i think the CTS is changing in a year or two anyway... who would want to get an old lux model... that just makes you look cheap...
  19. by the way does anyone know how fast those CTS's are as far as 0-60, and 1/4 mile times? is my Trans Am faster? 02 LS1
  20. naa, i'm cool... my friend keeps telling me to go to his self estem classes... he then realizes he's got things pretty well... a bad day to him... "damn my SL55 Got recalled..." a bad day to the next guy... "damn my mom just passed away" then hes like... maybe its not so bad that my car got recalled...
  21. well... there was a time, not to long ago either, that i never wanted to get rid of my cars... my firebirds i love them dearly... i figured i wouldnt ever need anything else... then i glanced at an XLR, and always around Vettes... the new Tahoes... ohh wow.... and this site doesnt help... but I just realized for an increase in 200$ a month, i could get a CTS-V... thats a manual transmission, 400 hp and navagation... what more could a car enthusiast ask for? wow... 20 years old... i cant imagine myself in 20 more years... damn beginning life crissis... i remember when my brother bought a 20k$ matrix... ohh i think i'd be the first in my family to get a luxurious vehicle... damn 50k$ vehicle for less then half the price...
  22. looks very similar to the 1963 elva courier or this 57'
  23. ahh... its okay, i think GM is starting to get straightend out... they just need to get their mojo back, and it doesnt matter what they produce... if they have their mojo and their "general" mentality, GM will always outpace the industry
  24. another article... haha... who to believe... stupid jurnalists Link to Article
  25. its always been #1vs#2... GM and whomever since 31... for most of that time it has been ford... but now the tides are turning... but the General is still the benchmark of all comparisons...
