  1. speaking of that, how long did it take them to develop the GMT900? when did they start? obviously Lutz was on the team by then... these trucks are awesome... i love to drive them!!! but i'm not a SUV guy, so i probably wont be getting one, i think my next vehicle will be a crew cab kodiak... lol if that isnt big enough i dont know what will be
  2. thats better then my brothers toyota...he had an 01 corolla and at 60k miles right before the powertrain warranty was up... his cat got clogged, and so he took it in, they told him it was his problem because he wasnt using premium fuel, he had to pay.
  3. at least someone wants those uplanders ours just sit here and get old... i really think those vehicles ought to be canned... yea they are nice drives... thats for sure... i cant wait for the next generation tahoe to make this one look like an antique... haha should i be expecting another 14 year cycle?

  7. well having i think the largest volume of them in the country (we've already received 150 or so) ... up until about 2 weeks ago i would have to say the vehicle was a flop... since those two weeks... they are selling unbelieveably well... we have probably sold in february 4 times the amount we sold in january so far... personally i've sold 3 in the last 2 weeks... but only 3... so as you can imagine i wouldnt consider them a great seller up until a few weeks ago but we still dont have the inventory that i would like to see... only like 4 LTZ's in stock, the lighter color interiors appear to be TOO light... and they stain easy, so easy in fact there is one with stained seats already (cloth of course) the leather, take your preference... but the cashmier and the dark titanium both seem to be a bit too light on the cloth, and the ebony is too dark for some. personnaly i like the cashmier seats with the ebony trim... i'm not sure if the lift gates were recalled, but the original shipment were all reprogrammed for some reasons(i think because it took like 5 seconds for the lift gate to start opening or something and they changed it to imediately after you touch it), my fellow salesmen have already had 4 or so in service for the side cladling not being 100% secured... some people have complained about how the roof isnt hard... you can push on the carpet roof stuff and it will flex... expecially around the sunroof, the housing seems to be kinda poorly designed, looks like the plastic thing is just hanging there... some minor things that many people forgo first year products anyway... but also on the 06 tahoes... we've got... maybe 15 left over... still in relitively high demand some people prefer the exterior on those... (i cant believe some of the stupid dealerships still have 05's...) i hate incompetance, these dealerships sell their vehicles almost at a premium just so they sit around and wait for bigger rebates so they can get nice profits on a few units... stupid dealerships
  8. yes the cellular strength of the On Star is 6 times stronger then a hand held cell phone... but dont be fooled, there are places that onstar wont have cellular service... Dealerships are getting sued over this because salespeople are letting consumers think that it works anywhere in the USA... and thats not always accurate
  9. just go someone in here this week, that they said... "man we rented this G6 and... its such a nice car, we've got to have it" but... of course fleet isnt always as unprofitable as one might suggest, accually fleet sometimes isnt as good a deal as retail... but if you purchase 4 or more vehicles in a year you must get the fleet deal... not the retail, hence its better to buy retail... so for GM it doesnt really matter a sale is a sale, its capacity problems...
  10. nono... dont let them be a supplier... my Optispark really sucks... and thats Mitsu's design...
  11. well its never great news that people just arent buying as much... but... its good that GM is outperforming the industry. but i guess this is what people call market share... Market Share increase is good on all accounts... but market share isnt gm's problem right now, its capacity... so if market share hits 50% yet they sell less cars... they are still going to be lossing money
  12. perhaps this isnt good news, but its news that is better for GM then most the competition... i'll be seriously supprised if toyota loses their consecutive month after moneth improvements... the stock price also might have a shock if this is the truth... link to article DETROIT (AP) - Sales of new vehicles fell 8 percent overall during the first two weeks in February, but there was some indication General Motors Corp.'s new vehicles and lower prices are attracting buyers, an automotive data firm reported Tuesday. Honda Motor Co. was the only manufacturer that saw its U.S. vehicle sales climb in the first 12 days of the month, up 4 percent from the same time a year ago, according to the Power Information Network, a division of J.D. Power and Associates. Honda is benefiting from positive reviews of its revamped Civic as well as growing sales of its Ridgeline pickup, said Tom Libby, the Power Information Network's senior director of industry analysis. Several automakers, including GM, Toyota Motor Corp. and Nissan Motor Co., saw their sales fall slightly but at a slower rate than the industry. GM and Toyota both saw 1 percent sales declines, while Nissan was down 7 percent. It was the first time GM has outperformed the industry since its employee discount incentive program ended last fall. Last month, GM lowered sticker prices on three-quarters of its U.S. vehicles for an average decrease of $1,300 per vehicle. The move was intended to wean buyers from costly incentives. At the same time, GM's revamped lineup of sport utility vehicles is hitting the market, starting with the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. Tahoe sales were up 53 percent in January over the year before. "General Motors is showing signs of life," Libby said. GM wasn't the only automaker pulling back on incentives. Forty-eight percent of new vehicle sales in early February included a rebate, down from half the year before. The average rebate amount fell 6 percent to $1,141. DaimlerChrysler AG led the pack, with average rebates falling 20 percent, while GM's rebates fell by 15 percent. Ford Motor Co. and Nissan increased their rebates from the year before, the Power Information Network said. Data were collected from 10,000 dealerships nationwide. The data do not include sales to government or corporate fleets, which inflated sales numbers in January. Automakers are scheduled to release February sales results on March 1.
  13. no thats not what he said...he said that pontiac would simply not just get another "clone"... he didnt say that it wouldn't receive another car based off the same platform... and if i remember correctly he never mentioned the firebirds name.
  14. yes... the nav DVD goes behind the screen... the DVD goes above the screen... but unfortuantly you cant play a CD and DVD at the same time... i think you can in the escalade, but not in the tahoe... not sure about the GMC...The DVD always goes into the dash to keep kids controll away if need be... their is also a remote, that can be taken away access from the dash setup... so if the kids are fooling around, the parents can take control...
  15. if you live in cali i'll get it for you
  16. no its i think 10 pesos to the dollar...
  17. well i dont know for yukons but suburbans should be at the dealership, at least ours (remember we've got the most 07 tahoes of any dealership across the country) in about 3 weeks... so... probabaly mid march for suburbans i'd imagine late march or begining april you'd see the escalde ext and the yukon xl
  18. technically a "supplier" can still receive the red tag sale, or supplier discount as it really was, or an employee can receive GMS anytime they feel... only difference is the average joe doesnt get it. but we still know what the price would be

    SUBURBANS

According to my managers, we should have Suburbans within 3 weeks. so thats sooner then we have been told. Not sure about avalanches, but... subrubans are enroute
  20. are you guys refering to the big 3 american or big 3 japanese brands?
  21. Newbiewar

    GM

its not a way out, its a way in... they've got to keep their 62% market share in the SUV market, and gain popularity in the car market, they can grow tremendously in the car market.
  22. I think BM will join us here, about the CEO laughing about the demise of GM... but... on a different note, i think Rick is blinded sometimes by too many of his own people just trying to cover up for lackluster sales months... statistics are so easy to manipluate to look like its in your favor...
  23. Link to Article General Motors Corp. names Brent Dewar vice president-field sales, service and parts, one of several changes the auto maker is making to its North American vehicle sales, service and marketing (VSSM) staff, effective March 1. Dewar, currently GM-North America vice president-marketing and advertising, replaces Pete Gerosa, who will retire later this year after serving 42 years in various roles at GM. In the interim, Gerosa will head a special sales and service assignment the auto maker says is crucial to its North American turnaround effort. He will continue to report to Mark LeNeve, GMNA vice president-VSSM. Mike Jackson, GMNA’s Los Angeles-based Western regional general manager, will succeed Dewar as vice president-marketing and advertising. Susan Docherty, GM’s general manager of the Hummer luxury brand, will fill the void left by Jackson’s appointment. Responsibility for the Hummer brand now will fall to Martin Walsh, executive director-sales and marketing support. GMNA South Central Regional General Manager Larry Hice will be tasked with replacing Walsh, while Kurt McNeil, Western regional sales manager, will replace Hice, GM says.
