  1. the problem in the car business is that dealerships change ownerships so quickly, because of poor management they fail... its a common thing... thats why you got to find a good dealership to work for... one that has things paid for, and is looking to expand
  2. LOL! I was laughing my ass off today, when i customer came in with their brand new 07 and said he wanted to trade it in... I was like OMG, its barely 06... you think KBB even has the 07 prices for new cars set up? and you want to trade it in already... haha! okay lets leave you guys with that much of the story ... okay... Febuary 2nd this guy picks up an LS tahoe... for like 33k plus tax and liscensing... puts 5k down, payments are like 630... the guy, really wanted to LTZ model, but decided that he wanted low payments... so after putting 133 miles on the vehile and waiting a month, he decides, he really would prefer the LTZ... so sure enough he brings it in, trades in the 07 that he purchased for 33k... and now he has purchased an 07 LTZ with a sticker price of 47k and throws another 5k down payment and walks out with 930$ payments... ouch should have taken it the first time... we didnt have a trade in value for it... of course kbb doesnt have it... so we gave him 28k for the LS... so all in all we've got a used 07 tahoe with 133 miles on it... LMAO
  3. donno, but i think we'll be getting one over here in puente hills... puente is about to turn into a massive auto mall... although its close to whittier, i think the whittier one will be closing or moving over to puente hills... here at puente we've already got nissan ford g-p-b chevy toyota vw misubishi and mazda... we'll be getting chrysler&jeep, lexus, umm i'm pretty sure a cadillac will move in, and i hope my dealership starts it... we should also be getting a dodge, and i was under the impression we were getting a saturn here too... it'll be like a super size certios auto mall
  4. probably when GM's credit rating isnt junk...
  5. perhaps it would seem that GM is trying to get in bed with the perceived "Quality" that toyota has... the agreement i Believe is strickly for PR sake...
  6. i guess thats like longo toyota here in So Cal selling 24,000 Toyotas last year as the worlds best volume dealership...
  7. fwd has benifits when it comes to traction, the weight is over the drive wheels, allowing you to get traction on wet and icy surfaces... rwd hinders the drive because you have nearly no weight over the drive wheels... so you will have minimal friction, thus allowing for poor performance in winter conditions, this is why many people store their rwd's over the winter because of poor performance... before i changed my suspension on my 94 formula, i couldnt hardly drive in the rain... now with the new tires i never lose traction... and my new car 02 trans am has traction so i never have any problems there either, also the LS1 is better for rwd because it doesnt have nearly the low end torque the lt1 does... so its got less power when your driving cautiously
  8. well one thing, rear wheel drive can help you steer in turns... front wheel drive can make things worse... you can have wheel hop, you can have torque steer with front wheel drive... also with launches, the more powerful the car, the more the front end lifts, and with front wheel drive, you dont want weight off the drive wheels... like for rwd, if you launch you get more weight on the rear wheels and thus giving you more traction. rwd has its advantages... but most of them are for performance, hence why all exotics are rwd, and all muscle cars are rwd... fwd benifits include less parts, less weight, cheaper... one thing i love to do, is go around a turn with 1/4 gas and feel the rear slide and straighten me out prior to the curve being over.
  9. i think another helpful feature would be to advertise in movies and what not... i remember the movie Island, had the Cien in it... wow... that was a good scene, now if they'd accually have real vehicles...
  10. sure... i'm guessing april... but i'm not sure yet... they said begining of second quarter...
  11. yes... in 2005 they sent out 6 million surveys only to receive a record 1 million back. and to weather those surveys were about cars... you've got me stumped... if they published that information I sure wouldnt be a subscriber.
  12. the best news is, GM is still selling units without large incentives... accually in many cases no incentives! while the outgoing Thoes and Suburbans and avalanches recieve large incentives, they are really the only vehicles to be discounted...
  13. hey i got nothing on the engine and tranny i get lots of comments with people seeing 250k miles with nothing but oilchanges...
  14. saab and hummer have no assets... they are worthless... possitive news = stock prices going up, negative news, stocks go down... Saab has no value outside of GM, whomever would purchase the brand would be forced to spend billions in research and development to get any vehciles, because saab doesnt have any research teams, they have no chassis, and their only factorys are about to close... same with hummer... Hummer is produced for GM, by a different company except the H3, is produced by GM... Hummer is just a name that's all the value it has... it would cost GM more money then its worth to sell the brands...
  15. i'm currious as to how much a lease would be... but it doesnt mention it on the saturn page... i looked at the pontiac, and those solstice dont seem to have very good residual values
  16. yea... the civics and the corollas, expecially the sentra really offer nothing against the cobalt. the cobalt also has the 60k mile powertrain warranty the cavalier i might take over the sentra, but i'd probably take a corolla or maybe a civic over the cavalier... but the cavalier has more power then either of the two.. but the interior is just that bad... all in all Cobalts rock! and HHR's are also fantastic
  17. we probably have about 90 in inventory now, our 2007 stock numbers are up to about 170 now... so we've sold about 80 new tahoes already... maybe more it sucks i just sold our last 06 suburban monday, and we dont have anything but used, and we dont have any new suburbans ariving for a week or two...
  18. i concur... now i'd say i'd take a corrolla over a cavalier, but a cobalt i believe is best in class
  19. its too expensive... heck a single cab starts more expensive then a you can get a silverado base? whats the point?
  20. ever since my dads Chevette, he will never consider a GM car again
  21. this is another vehicle on my want list... lol... everyone gets a silverado... haha just got to be different... i want a 4500 crew with a 6.6 durmax w/ the alyson haha
  22. i dont get it... if everything seems to be up... why is it down... let me look at the sales ticker on GM.com... Edit: Okay I see... the only reason sales are down is GMC is down 10% and they've been out of Yukons for a while, and Yukon XL (at least at our Chevy store we dont have a single suburban and its on of our best sellers and we only have like 12 '06 tahoes left... when production stopped, we had about 250 to give you an idea of the selection we try to keep on hand. we still arent satisfied with our 07 unit count of about 100 vehicles) so I can see the Escalade is down, and GMC is down... Cobalt is up, HHR is going to hit its target if sales keep up 100k units...
  23. i drive a pontiac firebird trans am 02... i've got a formula 94 as well, but she doesnt run... haha yet... :pontiac: where is that damn shifting gears smily?
  24. dollinger if he doesnt beat out joe gerard, he sure is close... and he's doing it part time now... hes a good salesperson... i've had a chance to speak with him, hell i've got him on speed dial on my phone... Hes a great guy, and hes got good intentions, but we will never know if what he has lined up for GM would accually make a difference. product seems to be difficult problem comsumers are raving...
