  1. CD, LMFAO! Bimmer, do you wrestle? As in the sport, not a sexual fetish.
  2. I'm not pretending. Any company would.
  3. GM built the GMT900 engines so they would do well in EPA tests. The evidence is obvious. So what? I have no problem with it. GM can claim its large SUVs get best-in-class mileage. Good. Edit: spelling.
  4. LAGUNA BEACH. Have you seen Stephen or Talan?
  5. HUN. I love it. Ocn, you have some pretty light "flip outs." I may be behind on this whole story or may not have caught the clues but are you and this guy just friends or maybe/possibly/want to be something more? I forget if you are single or not.
  6. An architect convention doesn't seem geeky to me. It seems like a cool art gallery. I love architecture. By the way, with the "undocumented" population in LA, you might want to add on 2 million to that population number.
  7. Tripping over itself? LOL. I would considering rushing to market two large vehicle programs that cover all but one of your many brands a little bit more akin to tripping over oneself. The above article by Mr. Harris plus the recent GM advertising blitz seems like GM is trying to market its fuel efficient innovations and cars while scrubbing its image as a large vehicle manufacturer. It's marketing, it's made to sell cars and the company. GM does it, Toyota does it, Honda does it, Ford does it. Toyota is good at it. Toyota is a growing car company in America so you would expect it to open more plants and manufacture more competitive vehicles.
  8. While the response is top notch, I fail to see the reasons why Toyota's new plant is mentioned in what is supposed to be a retort of that rediculous NYT editorial. Toyota's building a new plant to build a truck compared to GM that has, what, 5 dedicated to building pickups?
  9. The center stack is well done but, IMO, there's a little bit too much faux aluminum painted plastic. The center console looks cheap. More econo car than luxury car.
  10. Can we get a permanent delay?

    ....

I think I can hear GM employees saying this when they design cars. That has to be one of the reasons why GM cars lack the features that their competitors have.
  12. You forgot to mention a general feeling of inadequacy that overcomes certain buyers before they buy such a vehicle. Of the few of these I see on the road, noisy, smelly and slow are adjectives that come to mind, new or not. Most of them do not have anything attached to the back end, either, meaning they are being used as a daily driver most of the time. Edit: spelling.
  13. I'm with Roopull on this one. If you need to make the couple-times-a-year Home Depot trip for larger items, are active/outdoorsy or want some room while traveling down to North Carolina (for example), cars like the Element, xB, Mazda5, HHR and to a less extent the Vibe/Matrix are the way to go. Nothing too big, all easy on gas, easy to drive around. By the way, don't extended cab pickups (not double cab) force you to open the front door in order to open the rear doors?

    ....

I'd be surprised if GM offered some of the up-market features found on the Camry.
  15. It seems fairly accurate, IMO. The only mistake is the Tahoe vs. FJ Cruiser, in which the Tahoe obviously has the better interior. - The A3 has a much better interior than the Solstice - Going on design and common sense, because I have not been in a CX-7 yet and the HHR costs less than the Mazda, the CX-7 has the better interior. - I would pick the B9 Tribeca over the Q7 for design but the Q7 over the B9 for materials because Audi is known for having well constructed interiors with great materials. Plus, it costs more. - The materials between the Escalade and RR Sport are probably a toss up (I cannot remember either but have been in both) but the RR Sport design is better than the corporate stack centric design in the Caddy. - The Mustang's IP is awesome.
  16. I thought this survey was held highly in the minds of C&G members.
  17. It was in a magazine so I am not sure if it is on the web. I would presume it to be copyrighted by Motor Trend. I did a quick search on the MT site and came up with nothing. Basically, it was the Saturn Outlook with the Chevy crossbar grille.
  18. Not nearly as masculine or nice looking.
  19. I don't know about any of you but most of these kids TV shows are horrible. My mom takes my young cousin (5 or 6) to school every weekday and usually I have to sit through rediculous shows. She also likes "Saved By The Bell" but that's cool. I would never let my kids watch such trash about jacked up-looking birds that can talk, etc.
  20. You're not the only one.
  21. Thanks for confirming. I just hope MT's rendering is not the real deal, though I have a bad feeling it is close. I also forgot to mention MT also said Saab was getting a Lambda. Sorry about that but now it seems everyone knows. I think a properly designed Saab Lambda would be good for the brand.

    Honda...

I can't believe Honda is going for the B9 Tribeca look. Looks like RAV4 sales will stay strong.
  23. Looks somewhat like the new Nitro now.
  24. "Generic" Ford Edge?
  25. Either something is happening in shipping the Scions or, more likely, the fact that it is an all-economy car lineup is the problem. I am guessing $15,000 cars are made more cheaper with more corners cut than your typical $30,000 car, thus leading to more complaints about rattles, etc. Other manufacturers have a much large lineup to balance out their few econoboxes. Of course, that does not apply to Land Rover or other companies who are having problems. All I know is that I have had zero problems with my xB. Then again, the survey ranks the xA and tC as being in the top three of their respective categories.
