  1. But then, what american would buy it?
  2. We will... Gas prices are severely affecting the economy now, what makes you think higher prices wont wreck it?
  3. The same customers that are dying off? You constantly tell us to come into reality, maybe you should too if you believe the above.
  4. Except for Buick is more important in what is soon to be the number one market on the planet. (I'm just sayin')
  5. [edit: I deleted the first part of this post after being asked to] You were better off gone than antagonizing people on this board. Mods: ban me if you want. It won't change the opinion of me or most everyone else around here. PCS disappears for a month and then suddenly makes a sincere remark about the death of a program that he hates that involves a sales channel he wants to eliminate. Yeah right...
  6. Here's the problem: CADILLAC should've been "right" 7 years ago when GM "revived" the brand. Now would be the time to revive OTHER brands if GM had a clue about reviving a brand in the first place.
  7. And it's going to do this with no V8 program and platforms shared with cars that are half the price... Another EXCELLENT move by GM...
  8. Another f*ckin' dumb move... I'll be on BlueOvalNews taking bets on how long it takes GM to f*ck up to the point of bankruptcy. This is sheer ignorance... Ford can do RWD with CAFE, so can Chrysler and so can Hyundai. Yet GM is too ignorant to figure it out? So, I guess we'll get a Lacrosse that can double as a Saturn, an outdated Lucerne with lipstick and a Buick coupe from Alpha (Because that makes so much damn sense) while Pontiac will survive with a G6 that can double as a Malibu, which will already double as a Saturn. EFF you GM and EFF you americaNT. I'm done with this.
  9. It could be a number of things. 1) As I have mentioned, no one cares to post news anymore. If there is nothing to discuss, why would people come here to discuss it? 2) The CAFE has killed off a lot of the enthusiasm. 3) GM being in trouble again has killed off a lot of the enthusiasm (After all, it's been such a roller coaster) 4) PCS. He sucks. And therefore, he makes the site suck a lot. 5) GM is actually just losing fans (Thanks to their poor performance, CAFE, greenies and bad times right now) I dunno... Maybe it's a bit of all of those.
  10. That's awesome! You're a bigger man than I am. Cavigirl (My GF) is also a car person, except she likes Mustangs. She keeps asking to drive one of my Camaros and everytime I tell her "absolutely not" So now she's threatening to not let me drive her classic Mustang (When she buys one) She's just so rough on her daily driver (The Cavalier) because she hates it that I can't imagine her treating my cars like they ought to be treated. LOL.
  11. Bankrupt. GM just needs to break the union and get it over with. Times are tough right now and I bet GM could EASILY find people to work in their factories for a fraction of what the union wants. Just do it GM. File bankruptcy if you will and kill the cow that the parasites live on.
  12. Well, part of the plan was to PUNISH the Detroit automakers for making a profit because they're "big, evil corporations" Say what you will, but Detroit was getting up off of the matt. Washington knew it, the greenies knew it and the consumer knew it. That's one of the big reasons why this legislation was passed. The plan always was for Detroit to die a slow, painful death. And so it will now thanks to the anti-Detroit media and environmentalists teaming up with the government.
  13. I had something similar to this happen one time... Insurance company totaled the car and we wanted to buy it back from them and have it repaired. Went to the yard to get it and the guy is like "We've already sold it to another yard in Charlotte." (Who no doubt wanted it for parts since the car was kinda rare) I was very pissed and ended up making that yard haul the car back up here to my house and then charge the original yard for the tow bill. The insurance company was very helpful and sided with me since I was fair with them and had, after all, bought the car back from them. It's been my experience that 75% of the time junk/salvage yard people are shady assholes.
  14. +1
  15. So.. For the same money as an LS V8 I can get a car with less power that requires more expensive fuel (Turbo)? Dwight, you're good but why should someone like me buy this? (Playing devils advocate)
  16. Looks like it's the same BLAND profile with even uglier details now.
  17. Me too... But here's the kicker, and this is true for A LOT of people. I'm so tired of the condescending and 'outcasting' tone of the environmentalists that I'm beginning to not really give a sh*t. After all, I'm not going to live forever and I'm not dumb enough to have kids. So why should I care? (Keep in mind, this is me being devils advocate AT THIS POINT IN TIME)
  18. I'll second that... I'll bet about $3.50ish since Memorial Day is traditionally the high point of the summer. A few experts are predicting a downward trend. Of course, it'd be $3.50 anyway if someone would shut Wall Street the hell down. Simple economics dictates that gas WILL eventually come down. The question is; how long until it does and how much more will it climb? What goes up must come down. Once it starts severely affecting our economy, the price will drop.
  19. I'd like to see what the LS line would do with this technology
  20. I know what Sixty8 is talking about.. There is nothing like the look and feeling of driving a first gen with all of the window down and no B-pillar. At the same time, it's not enough of an issue with me to de-rail my purchasing plans.
  21. Because man has a natural need for power. Extremist Christians believe that we will all be united under one global government and that the anti-christ will control the world that way. I'm beginning to see that take shape.
  22. Case in point: This thread.
  23. Nope.. What people want here is to AVOID giving up their freedom. And all we ask is that people try to innovate instead of 'give up'. I don't want to drive a $h!ty car, and before you say that cars wont go downhill because of this propaganda, REMEMBER the 80s. I aspire only to a V8. But thats because I don't want the alarmists among us to completely rule out the FREEDOM of driving a V8. Would I consider something else? Sure. Do I drive a V8 everyday? Absolutely not. I buck on the global warming myth because evidence hasn't been shown to prove it even exists. With gravity and evolution, the evidence is there but the puzzle isn't complete. But more importantly, I'm tired of people trying to tell me how to live my life. This society is so condescending and concerned with peripherals that the core is rotting right in front of our eyes. Maybe that is the 'iceberg' we should be worrying about.
  24. Well, the UN doesn't surprise me. It's always been a big waste of time.
